I can agree with them being from RBW might be affecting them, like I live next to RBW building and it’s definitely much larger than Cube’s old building where you could pass by it and not even know it’s Cube. RBW has huge posters of their talent on their building vs Cube with no promotions. Though RBW are no longer a small company with recent acquisitions. Beauty standards is def not the issue within Korea. The issue is that they are great performers and the talent is there but they come off as a cover band who occasionally has original songs. They spend way too much doing covers and vlogs vs content that promotes the group itself. The problem stems from Purple Kiss being RBW’s second idol group and their first female idol group. They don’t know what to do with them. You can see the inspiration of how they are trying to promote taken from lots of different successful Idol groups all mashed together without a clear plan. Hopefully with the recent addition of KARA to their company, they will bring in insight on the differences of promoting Idol groups vs artists. Especially with the members being much more involved in the process, without a Soyeon, a Suga, or a GD type who can just crank out songs and bangers, their original songs take way too long for how fast the Kpop industry moves. But just the fact that they haven’t been disbanded yet and have a following should give some hope. So many idol groups just disappear never being heard of to the public.
