Heres my hero tier list for the heroes ive used. Alric is a beast. He is tankier than both Grawl and Karkinos while being half their size. He has a large amount of health: 560 which combined with his high armor makes him unstoppable. He can take on pretty much any enemy, he easily kills executioners, gorillons, saurion myrmidons and some anoobis's. He can take lots of hits from saurion brutes, and can dish the hits back. Alric has spiked armor which reflects 60% of damage received which means he can heavily damage bosses and minibosses by himself. The spiked armor combined with his extremely tanky build, makes him unstoppable. Not only does he have good attack damage, hes also good at crowd control. Alric summons 3 powerful sand guards which makes him a moving barracks. Whenever the guards go out of order, (like when reinforcements disappear) he doesnt have to wait 10 seconds for new ones. He makes them instantly. Meaning he can delay enemies for minutes. Dante is pretty weird. He is the most annoying hero meaning you have to look up tutorials to use him correctly. If you have bought him and are not satisfied because hes weak, dont refund and hear me out. Dante is the glass cannon of frontiers, he can deal out so much damage that anoobis's, executioners, gorillons, up to 3 saurion shooters easily die because of him. However, he can die by one hit by most enemies. Dante has 500 health and no armor. If you use him right, he is better than bonehart in my opinion. Dantes skills allow him to dish out up to 320 damage every 3 seconds. Thats over a 100 damage per second. His dps is insane! His attack speed is pretty fast and he deals the highest damage of every single hero. Higher than bonehart and karkinos. He has a whopping 44-68 damage per shot, and he shoots once every 1.5 seconds, combined with the high chance of him using his sniper rifle, which deals hundreds and can one-shot immortals, matriarchs and sometimes executioners, he is a killing machine. Dante is best used near assassins. Assassins are extremely OP, they are pretty much the melee dante's that come in threes. If you level up their counter ability to max, they can take on gorillons and even saurion brutes if you upgrade the sneak ability as well. Dante has a unique skill that if hes near soldiers, their attack damage is increased by 50%. If you combine this with the fully upgraded Assassins, Dante and his assassins are unstoppable killing machines.
I completely disagree with you :/ Iron Pincer: I like this ability alot! You can maximize his damage input to massive amount of damage, and i don't think 34-62 damage is average. Battle Hardened: Compare this to Dante, he has no armor and once he reach 1hp, he will die by the next hit. At least Karkinos have a 65% chance to avoid death, and he will take massive damage before he dies due to his armor, that's an advantage. Pincer Attack: That's a good ability man, it deals 50-100 *TRUE* damage to *ALL* enemies in a *LINE*, in my opinion, that's better than a a circle area damage. Shoulder Cannon: I agree, this ability is useful. Burrow: At least it will make him move faster, and he can move underwater in the Rising Tides campaign, unlike other heroes who are stuck in the only location they start at. I hope this helped you change your opinion about this guy, he has good advantages over some heroes in Frontiers, and can compete with the best as well.

Of course, he DOES outclass some in this field, but the fact that he needs an ability slot to get close to those others is a little disappointing. Battle Hardened: It IS an interesting concept and with a bit of luck, Karkinos CAN stay alive for a quite a bit. However, having to rely upon the roll of a dice is a little iffy, especially for a melee character. Pincer Attack: 50-100 TRUE damage sounds pretty good at first until you realize that Ashbite does true damage with each basic attack, as well as his Cone of Fire and Wildfire Barrage. Shoulder Cannon: *high fives* Burrow: Notice how Nivus and Saitam can actually both easily get over water. Same with Ashbite and Bonehart. And none of these heroes have to use an ability slot. Just my reasons for how these abilities could be better, but everyone is entitled to their opinion :) I really appreciate you taking time to write me that feedback.
That IS a good point actually, but what I was going for when comparing him to dragons is to show how is health is actually not bad. The dragons are top of the list in term of stats, and when he is almost able to match them, that's nice.
Guys please look up Kingdom Rush Wiki before saying Karkinos sucks. His Pincer Attack's damage is inaccurate it deals around 150-250 true damage and In case you want to prove that just let him use it on a Broodguard on casual (210 HP) and it will just about always instant kill. It also has a cooldown of some 8 seconds maybe less so he really spamms it. Battle hardened means he has a 65% chance to become invulnerable for 4 seconds EACH HIT after falling below 40% health which makes him super durable. Only thing I don't like about him is shoulder cannon but the rest is great and far greater than the game itself displays him.
Karkinos is a cyborg he uses upgrades to get places all of these upgrades just shine that, but maybe a simple base buff giving him higher health and damage might fix this
It depends on what levels you're on! Phoenix is good for earlier levels and remains pretty decent in later levels. Faustus is decent early, and into late levels he gets even better. Your choice!
The heroes get better the farther right on the list they are, you can compare him to dragons and say he's bad, also the near death part of becoming invincible doesn't even effect how useful the ability is, if he were invincible when not near death it wouldn't be any better
Karkinos's invincibility is one of my favorite moves, good on maps with high damage opponents like sumarian brutes, deathcoils, savage 's poison and abomination's self destruction. But the down side is sometimes The luck is not there.
tacogod boomdogg Yeah you make some good points I forgot to mention the true damage, but an area attack doesn't really need true damage as badly as a single target ability. And I actually said he was average, because there are weaker. Ultimately I feel like Karkinos has the potential to be very GOOD or very BAD. It's all luck in the end.
KingdomRushCorps I still think his passive skills are necessary, I can't imagine how much differently I have to use him if his basic attack and speed are any lower. I use him as a back up, dipping in and out of chokepoints and tanking leakers. Though I agree that he's not special in any area in specific.
Yup I bought this guy and it was a huge mistake. Alric is tougher and he is free he can block better his health regen is WAY better he can summon warriors to block as well while this guy is indeed my least fav hero of all kr's BY FAR!!!

I accidentally deleted all my progress with all 3 KR's trying to move it to my SD card, but I nearly have it back already (and I literally did everything there was to do in all 3 including Veteran on even the iron challenges). You just need some extra hearts (which are cheap) and those freezing wands and then even the undead levels are easy on veteran.

That IS a good point actually, but what I was going for when comparing him to dragons is to show how is health is actually not bad. The dragons are top of the list in term of stats, and when he is almost able to match them, that's nice.
In 2018 the battle hardened changed.
When max it is
if harmed while under 40% health (about 225) he has a 65% of becoming invulnerable for 4 seconds.
When Karkinos is poisoned and you us borrow. When he gets out of the ground he's sorta cleansed from it.

It depends on what levels you're on! Phoenix is good for earlier levels and remains pretty decent in later levels. Faustus is decent early, and into late levels he gets even better. Your choice!
