It's 2k version of skill based matching and EOMM to maintain player rentention. Nerfs and Buffs players in real time to keep the good players frustrated and keep the bad players on that game by giving them a booste and nerfing the good players from game to game.
I feel you on the catch animations...accept they need to be punched the face by everyone that has HOF catch and shoot and still consistently gets bad catches. It also shows the weakness of the badges this year
this happened to me yesterday i played like 4 games on my 2 way 3 level threat. got 92 mid range and 79 3pt right now. bruh i was going stupid for 3 games straight. smacking mid range fades & step backs and 3pts i missed like 4 shots total in 3 games, but on the 4th game i couldnt make shit. bricking the same fades, step backs, catch and shoot 3s i was making the last 3 games. i had the same teammate for 3 of the 4 games and the last game i had 1 new teammate and he thought i was trash cuz i couldnt hit. i went like 3/9 1/4 that last game
Shit is sick lol and then there’s always like 1 or two games where you hit shots that you didn’t feel good . 2k is wild for implementing it and thinking people wouldn’t catch on lol stuff like this ain’t happen on 2k20 which was the last 2k I played this heavy. I have the exact same build as you . 88 middy and 80 3pt. The inconsistency is wild

I have to disagree with oldheads being the problem. It almost feels like a generational problem not an age problem. Like this new wave thats noticeably taking over are players that only know the 2k over the last 4 to 5 years. They only know this trash era of 2k therefore its starting to show more year after year in the quality of randoms. Not trying to sound like an old head but each year that 2k continues with the product we're getting year after year. Is another year we get further away from having players that remember the good years and having players that knew it took real basketball iq to be good at the game. Thats because of the quality of their game. Theres no way around it each year 2k is trash is another year or batch of trash players. This year with squads and no squads not to mention the next gen push has just made this growing problem noticeable to the point where the game is ran by the trash players.
I’m pretty sure it’s the lag… also check your boosts if you use them. I experience that as well. I hate blaming 2k for my shooting woes. I usually figure it out after a a shoot or so.
