Still remember Bob's press conference the day he was hired.
I had been living in Nebraska where their team had been on a tear for a few years with 2 NC's. When anyone there would find out where I was from, they would always say something like..."Man we sure miss OU, the real OU." when will they be back?
I had moved back to OK and had no idea who Bob even was.
But when they asked him something like "What is the 5 year plan to build back OU?"
His response was something like: "There is no plan to build back. This was and still is a great institution. Our plan is to win... them all...now."
And two years later, he did just that.
Greatest fastest resurgence of a fallen giant I have ever witnessed in any sport.
Thank God, you are an architect, Coach!
Arguably, Bob’s loyalty to his brother Mike cost OU at least a couple more shots at a Natty but we forgive him his transgressions. All in all he’s one of the greats and we love him 💯☝🏼
Bob is a great guy. He got to OU my Sophomore year. Used to see him jogging sometimes. Always said hello, great ambassador and coach. One of the all time greats!

It doesn't matter what he does from here on out he will be remembered as big game Bob! Same as Switzer is the King! SOONER Crimson blood still runs thru his viens, SOONER fans found that out in the bowl game in 21! Recruiting heavily for OU! Guidance to find the next head coach! Still believe BV is the right coach! So Bob Stoops take a bow for a job well done! BOOMER SOONER!! There's Only One Oklahoma!! STOOPS FOREVER AT THE PALACE ON THE PRAIRIE!!
Another thing as a dad and parent, I bet that win over Oregon in the bowl game was definitely a big highlight with his son on the starting rooster with some big catches in the game! Also the revenge for the on side kick a few years back! BOOMER SOONER!!
Hope he comes to FSU because he's a very talented coach and all class and could def turn our disaster program around and get us back to being elite again and feared in the ACC! GO NOLES! #Stoops2Tally

Barry Switzer described the oklahoma fanbase as a monster that has to be fed. As a lifelong Oklahoma fan we have extremely high expectations, at times unrealistic ones. But as a player or coach there you never have to wonder if that stadium will be sold out. Theres people who have been on waiting lists for season tickets for decades. They just never become available, They're passed down through families. If you want that kind of rabid passion from the fans it comes with the pressure to win.

But Bob Stoops is not the best Coach to come out of OU. He's an all-timer fs, but Switzer leads in win percentage and has 3ncs, Wilkinson also had 3ncs, 47 straight, and made OU a national perennial powerhouse.
Buddy coached longer as well js.
Stoops has more wins, but we count NC's first at Oklahoma.
BOOMER SOONER
While Bob got us a title his second year what he needed to fill his hole was right under his nose his championship quarterback had the answer Jesus is the only thing that can fill that hole in your soul after that opportunity I don't know if he ever found him because he never speaks of him to my knowledge if you have Jesus you have everything without him you are empty seeking for soul satisfaction everyone needs to find him because he is not just a game he is life and I can say this because I accepted him when I was seven and been a sooner fan all my life and now I'm retired don't wait your whole life to find him accept him now and everything else is added blessings for rest of your life especially since the end of this age is so near to whoever reads this and does it he will give you a crown of life which will beat any national championship any day of the week go sooners but believe in him with me and we will all be together some day God bless you!!!!!!!!!

Okay and?... Still has a national championship plus multiple national championship appearances.. damn near BIG-12 conference champions EVERY year of his amazing 18+ except maybe Two of them.. (and let's be real those were probably just to keep it a little interesting to y'all's fans..) lol gotta give them something every now and then.. need people to keep watching or there would be no more. Ctfu! Anyways, the man literally had a winning season every year he put on that coaching headset.. including the dynamic Peterson years. But thank you my friend for pointing out the fact he didn't get a "national championship" those seasons even though there's literally over a fucking HUNDRED college football teams ((who also didn't win it all those years)) in the NCAA and yet Oklahoma is ALWAYS if not the top team, pretty damn close EVERY year he was head coach and they're "still" ending seasons and dreams of the unlucky teams that have the balls to make their way onto the Sooners schedule every year ever after his retirement.. but I'm sorry, what did you accomplish again?.. since you're pointing out one very irrelevant flaw in this man's very distinguished career, I just wanted to hear your accomplishments or what you've done that makes your comment feasible to criticize him?. cause I don't want to just jump to conclusions that you're just another HATER that has to point out any little flaw that Oklahoma has had because they're tired of losing to us or just can't stomach to see us keep winning all the time. Come on, you don't want to be a hater man.. nobody likes a hater. Lmao that's the thing to Oklahoma fans don't really hate on other terms. Unless somebody's talking about ours so we have to state facts until the game does the talking for us lol you Probably have a disappointing ass seasons and a pissed off mood after yall lose cuz you already spent money on tostitos and cheese to watch it play out and then after y'all's season is over you gotta see mfs like me online hyped up to watch my team throw down in the playoffs pretty much every fucking year!! 😂😂💪 So I guess that's why y'all gonna hate. You're just tired of it huh.. lol and yes I know this is a little to much of a "Sooner" lesson for such a irrelevant comment but I just get tired of people saying dumbass shit to try and make a legendary program or coaching staff look less perfect cuz they are mad or just grow up rooting for the wrong team..
