Probably my favourite thing about Rush, outside of their music, is how Geddy and Alex were always willing to take part in silly projects. Especially Alex appearing in Trailer Park Boys multiple times.
Every other band that toured with them always said they loved to smoke weed and goof around after gigs. Part of their charm is that while they took their art very seriously, they didn't do the same when it came to their status as a band. Always humble, always had each other's backs, and always gave their audiences everything.
I just heard a Bill Bruford interview where he said 2 mind blowing things... Bill had never broken a drumstick, and Liberty used to break cymbal STANDS
Liberty is a bea, I met him at a clinic at Humber College. Such a nice, upbeat guy. A bit deaf lol but one if those people you feel inspired by. He has so many stories and is such a big, cool personality. He hits the drums and you feel the impact in your bone, he really lays into that snare drum.
Liberty is such a cool guest, but also massive props to the techs and engineers, the drums sound so good and are mixed perfectly with the rest of the music. Merry Christmas Drumeo
Met Liberty at the Delaware drum show when a companie im involved with had a booth next to him. He was signing books and a young man with disabilities came up and asked about a certain part he played. He came over to us and asked to play one of our kits to show the young man the part. Absolutely genuine person Liberty is.
I totally love Liberty. Totally awesome drummer, but he’s hilarious too. Awesome Canadian song to cover!! Love Liberty’s interpretation of this track. He always knows exactly what to lay down - nothing more, nothing less. Props to Geddy, but I loved Liberty’s spin on it.
Coupla things. Love Liberty DeVito. He hits the drums like they said something bad about his wife. And is it just me or does he sound like a nicer version of Larry David?
I pop in the Strange Brew DVD about once a year, even if the theme song does have cheesy 80s synthesized drums 😂 I discovered Liberty on the Hired Gun documentary; what a great drummer!
I now have two new goals in life. Number one, meet Geddy Lee and offer him 10 bucks to tell me, “Take off. “ The second and more serious goal, get Liberty, Geddy and Alex in a room together and make some music! Liberty is a treasure and probably one of the few drummers that plays as hard as Neil did!
Wow! Merry xmas to us!! Liberty, my earliest drum god, playing behind my fav singer! Never thought I could be this happy. Geddy really kills it too. Goofy stuff aside, you can hear what the nonstop touring did to his voice. Powerhouse vocals.
The great white north record was in my house as a kid. Loves these guys , eh. There’s a bronze statue of Bob and Doug with stubby elsinore beers at Rogers arena in Edmonton. Merry Christmas Hose heads .
I got this album in a pile of vinyl from my grandad (long story, he knew a man who ran a record exchange and would get piles of records from him that he couldn't shift), and I recognised Rick Moranis on the cover, but being in the UK I'd no idea who Bob & Doug were, what the whole "Canadian, eh" thing was they were doing, or who Geddy Lee was. But I remember hearing this song and thinking "that guy can sing!"
I always thought Bob and Doug McKenzie arguably inspired The Young Ones in the Uk. I used to listen to the cassette ad-nauseam when I was a young bloke 🙂
Literal tears of joy that this piece of Canadian history is being showcased. Proud Canadian here 🇨🇦
well, you will be an american soon as soon as trump annexes canada LOL
Seriously? It’s just a song by a couple of comedians. You Canadians are often disturbingly similar to the Americans with your misplaced nationalism.
Make Hockey Great Again~ 🏒
@@noitallmanazWe already been North Americans, and the history remains the same, so ...
"Take off, you hoser!" 🤩
I love this song. I was a teenager when it was released and I laugh every time I hear it.
Their 12 days of Christmas is iconic!!!

I love Neil's cameo in the Aqua Teen Hunger Force movie.
@ The drum solo of life!
YES!!! BOB AND DOUG AND GEDDY LEE. Also, Geddy's highest topping song on the charts
I just heard a Bill Bruford interview where he said 2 mind blowing things... Bill had never broken a drumstick, and Liberty used to break cymbal STANDS
Yeah that's a different level of power
I've never broken a stick either, I dont hit hard but hit plenty of rimshots, they don't even fray up there , I play 5A's

A beauty, way to go Liberty.
This is great! Merry Christmas!

Liberty is so kind, funny and humble. He played drums on some of the most Iconic, Inspiring and Heartfelt music ever.
Thank you, God bless you~✨
I havent heard this in year's. Totally forgot it existed. Brings back memories as a 9 year old.
SCTV!
I totally love this! Good day eh. BTW: Geddy and Rick Moranis went to school together.
As a kid I had this Album on 8 track, lol. Remember record and tape clubs? 13 Albums for a penny! What a time to discover music.

Had that cassette. Listened to it constantly. Long live SCTV.
I still have it! 😂
"everywhere shit can be downloaded" is an amazing sign off line

This had me smiling the whole way through :D
Ok I really want to hear a song by "Slow Down a Bit, We're in no Rush"
MERRY CHRISTMAS everyone and a happy new year. Good day eh.
Considering today's date I figured you'd be doing Bob and Doug's awesome version of The 12 Days of Christmas. But this was good too. Happy Christmas.
“…and a beer on my knee.”
That's a true Canadian Christmas classic!!
Such a fun episode!😂
Merry Christmas from Calgary. You brought back some great memories from my youth. Cheers
Loved Bob and Doug when they were on TV.
Icing on the cake when Geddy joined them ... classic 🤣
Liberty's infectious energy thrown in with Geddy and Alex would be a BEAUTY collab.
Happy Holidays, Hosers!
Liberty is a pleasure to watch. A real pro. He knows when to yield and pop.
I still have this on vinyl!!! Must have watched the movie 100 times growing up.
Had this album. Classic!
IT's never Christmas before I hear Take off
I had this album as a kid. Great memories.
I still have this album.
What a beautiful drummer Liberty is, nice snare sound too!
LOVE these videos. Thank you all!
I remember hearing this on the radio when it came out. Good times, eh?
This is the most Canadian thing I’ve ever heard
The perfect topic and the perfect drummer for the topic! GeddyLee’s biggest hit single!
Coupla things. Love Liberty DeVito. He hits the drums like they said something bad about his wife. And is it just me or does he sound like a nicer version of Larry David?
Thanks for this guys. Liberty is awesome and well Bob and Doug are awesome.........merry Christmas!
I pop in the Strange Brew DVD about once a year, even if the theme song does have cheesy 80s synthesized drums 😂 I discovered Liberty on the Hired Gun documentary; what a great drummer!
I wore a new groove on this song/record back in the day.
YES!!! I owned this album, and loved it.
I approve a collab with Liberty, Lifeson, and Lee. No need to reproduce Rush, just 3 funny, master musicians kicking ass. Who's with me?
I now have two new goals in life.

Such a happy song
Damn he hits HARD! Such a legend.
Nothing extravagant, just supplying a groove where it's needed - tasty hi-hats in the right places and a simple but effective solo. Great stuff!
I got to meet and talk ith Liberty at The Cape Breton drum festival a few years ago ...great guy great drummer
Beauty.
Great groove, time and energy!
You guys NEED to get Dan Presland on.
Liberty ! Merry Christmas Bro !!!!!!
The great white north record was in my house as a kid. Loves these guys , eh. There’s a bronze statue of Bob and Doug with stubby elsinore beers at Rogers arena in Edmonton. Merry Christmas Hose heads .

Holy hell, Canadian icons 😂

Fantastic!
I listen to their comedy album over and over and over
BEAUTY
Those are some funky cymbal stands.
Drumeo ! In Abbotsford! Langley here watching and loving the show. Great choice.
I had this album dubbed from a friend, and friends dubbed it from me 😂 classic!
Bob Funk, Crispin ciao & Larry Atkins.
Awesome, wish there was more stuff like that 😂.
No mention of who originally played drums on the track? I couldn't find anything and it was mentioned but never said.
Same. I was looking at commercial to to see if anybody knew.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 I remember them lmao omg. That’s hilarious. I enjoyed this. Great drumming.
Love it!
The end of that drum solo is perfection, honestly 100% better than if he had nailed it
Legendary ❤
He's back! 🎉
Amazing Brandon. Perfect pic
No way. :D As a RUSH fan, I never heard of this tune, quite funny.
Liberty is a genius, respect. :)
😂 So much fun!
A song like “all about soul”, man, Liberty is just swingin’ for the fences. I love how he digs in. Kenny Aronoff is very similar.
Take off and have a Merry Christmas eh!
Please make video about The Genius of DAVE Abbruzzese 🙏
Awesome
I used to watch the Great White North on SCTV when I was a kid.
Yes! This is great. He built it up and toned it down when needed. Great stuff, eh?!
Nobody makes a pop song heavy like Lib 🍻
I think it was wonderful of Liberty to play Canada's national anthem.
Having a guest play to “Step to Me” or “Art of Breaking” by Thousand Foot Krutch would be nice!
Broke: whoa, Bob and Doug got Geddy to play with them?
Bespoke: whoa, Bob and Doug let Geddy play with them?
take off hosers...you always make this poor guy drum to such high tempo stuff. ;-)
Liberty! And just ice for all of you. We keep the beers,eh?
Epic
Hosers ! Like, this is so great, eh !? Liberty is the best !
love liberty sense of humor. Nice loss track.....wow 80-s
Take off!
I listened to that song in 1981 or 82 maybe. So funny.
Have someone play The Seatbelts!
I love the drum mixes you guys get on all of your videos...rich and fat...
You hosers! Glad to see some beauty Canadian content eh...take off eh!
I always thought Bob and Doug McKenzie arguably inspired The Young Ones in the Uk. I used to listen to the cassette ad-nauseam when I was a young bloke 🙂
All I want for Christmas is to get Alex Rudinger on the show.... Please Drumeo...
