    Hi Stuart, what so many of us have forgotten how to do is to what you are calling “unloading” the golf club through impact into the follow through. Your release is different. You’re happy with a cupped / extended lead wrist at impact. No one else is happy with this lead wrist extended impact condition for normal golf shots. Your plastic band drill is clearly locking your hands into your shoulder pivot, bringing the back around on the inside arc, while you hinge your lead wrist / pressure down on the handle through impact into the follow through. You encourage further extension of the lead wrist as you rotate your forearms to face the face the target. Your lead hand grip mainly in the fingers enables a frictionless release where you trail hand overtakes your lead hand but without flipping the face down. I can fully understand why the traditional taught golfers thinks your on something. But you’re not your just completely consistent in your very different and yet very effective Stuart’s modern/ new release pattern.
    A number of golfers commented on their dislike of you as they see rambling on and not getting to the point. Your response being go to TikTok. For my part I would say you have as many videos where you stay on point as you do where the what not to do gets a bit monotonous. My observation there is not everyone has the same problems but you tend to focus on a sub set like golfers dropping the club straight down & being forced to swing from low & inside to outside the ball to target and flip the hands. I do think you are losing people because they can’t assimilate all the over load of information in one video. This risks them missing the really golden nuggets/ ah ha moments.

      Thanks Myles, I’m doing the best version of me and staying true to myself. What the world wants and what the world gets are two very different things. Thanks for your thoughts. Best wishes Stu.

    Hey Stu, i started playing a lil over 4 months ago and i must say, your videos have transformed my game so much no one believes that ive only just started playing. I came across your channel a bit over 3 weeks ago and have been playing almost every day since. Before your videos, you would believe me when i said id only just started because of how bad and inconsistent i was. Usually scored in the high 90s or 100+. Now for the last 3 weeks since ive started practicing your methods, ive been hitting mid to low 70s consistently. Even played in a friendly competition and won this past week. I shot 5 over the course record at me home course. Now have the goal to break it before i reach a year in playing.
    Just wanted to say thank you and keep up the good work.
    Many thanks and blessings from New Zealand.

    Great video Stu, it immediately reinforces keeping the handle low, especially doing left arm only swings with a theraband. At least once a round my club handle raises coming into impact, I tilt back and dump the head into the ground, fat city. It’s so discouraging and disruptive, feels like I’m a beginner when I typically shoot low to mid 80’s, occasionally high 70’s. I’m grooving your methods and reinventing my swing, all for the better, thanks! You should call your channel The Golf Heretic :)

    Thank you I finally see and understand that you are not flipping the club at impact. The face does not turn down when you push down on the handle.

    .....that was awesome Stu. I still fight that shot to the left a little bit exactly because of what you're explaining. My pre shot routine always includes that cup in the left wrist. My bowing the wrist thoughts are gone thanks to you!!⛳🍺

    Very good. Kinetics show you should be recocking your wrists just before impact. That is the equivalent of your stretching the band, pushing the handle down.

    It wasn't this video I'm pretty sure (or maybe it was), but recently you mentioned something about "loading the shoulders" at setup? All I can say is that this seems to be producing markedly better shots. It's kind of a challenge to turn the hands and arms off for me, but focusing on a little downward load on the shoulders does that. It seems my core is now swinging my shoulders, and that this is somehow producing a "deeper", "longer" swing.
    I don't know anything, of course. But this week I have been making better contact on a pretty consistent basis than what I'm used to. The game is fun when you par the first 4, even if you start screwing up a bit later.
    Anyway, I got this idea from you (somehow), and I hope I haven't messed anyone else up by mentioning it.
    Thanks

    Great stuff. I’m still working on getting my weight back on the left heel and staying in posture, but the grip and broom videos made everything fall into place. Im no longer struggling with my irons, they go straight enough to stay in play now and that’s really all I’m looking for. Woods are another story, but that’s probably just needing practice.

    I’ve been watching some Ben Hogan videos recently and I noticed that he had his lead wrist cupped at setup. I know that the cup is death at impact but I didn’t know that it could be done at setup. I incorporated this into my setup and instantly started hitting the ball great. Can you explain why that might be?

    • @GoodGolfCoaching

      Watch more of my content my friend and you’ll soon realise cup at impact isn’t death. Start with my broom series and let go of the Ben Hogan book 😂

    So, at impact should the left wrist be flat, slightly bowed, or slightly cupped??

    • @GoodGolfCoaching
      @GoodGolfCoaching  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The left wrist will try to bow, but with the right grip the left wrist can be cupped. Absolutely.

  • @carcose

    Hi Stu, the left cupped wrist becomes "flat" at the top of the backswing? Many thanks

    Morning Stu, when you push down the handle doesn’t this tip the head of the club up? Is the message feel the pressure down with the shoulder and not the hands or is it both?

    • @GoodGolfCoaching
      @GoodGolfCoaching  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes it absolutely does which creates more opportunity to stay in posture, active leg action and the club head will still unload to the ground, but just less than before. 😊

  • @dmpt39
    @dmpt39 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    With pressure down on the handle thru strike how does one not end up strangling the handle? I’m a convert to your teaching.

    • @GoodGolfCoaching
      @GoodGolfCoaching  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      In the same way you can do a press up without gripping the ground to death with your fingers. Try it. You’ll understand 😊

    It’s like a cheat code! It’s breaking the internet, they(company) can’t stop us from telling you about this, it over taking the internet by storm….. I’m 64 and at some point in my life I thought that humanity would change and not give their attention to ridiculous claims, unqualified statements, outlandish bold claims… but no… we’re all still dull dolts 😂
