    This is great! I really never thought about trying to use the parts I can't play as a kind of "exercise" or warm-up. It may seem really dumb, but I always did technical exercises rather than try use the piece itself to practice the parts I can't play.
    But yes thanks for remind me that practice don't need to be doing the same robotic exercise everyday and that we can be somewhat creative to suit our own purpose. This is also something we forget!

    Hi Paola, wondeful organisation and writing :)
    If I'm right you take 2 days off by week ?
    I usualy play 3-4h per day each days of the week but after 1 Month I feel very bored and tired by the guitar and need to take a big break, then the scheme repeats. Perhaps I should do like you do but I feel so guilty when I don't play at all... when you take your breaks, do you force yourself to not touch the guitar ?

    Its really nice for you to give some insight in to what makes you as amazing on guitar as you are with all of the little processes behind scenes that we don't see.
    Are you self-taught? I'm from northern england (scottish borders) and there are not many classical guitar teachers near where I live (actually there are none, realistically), so I've relied entirely on videos like yours to help me. I've been playing since march/april 2017 and I have picked it up very quickly (and overcome quite a lot of bad habits) but I still feel like I should be better organised in practice.
    I have never used finger stretches. Is that bad?
    Also, if you could condense your info down here, what would you say were *crucial* in terms of practice and development?

    • @paohermosin
      @paohermosin  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi!! I feel great if I can help you a lot😊, I studied my Bachelor of Music (guitar) at the High Conservatory of Music in Seville (Spain) and I also studied Primary Education at the University because I love teaching. I developed my own routine of practicing inspired by the bullet journal and because I use to be very organized and I realized that I needed to have a record of my entire study to improve easily. I think the secret of the study is the concentration. If you are singing now, just sing, don’t think or worry about other things. Just do and enjoy what you are doing and you will start to improve faster. You will need to spend a lot of hours studying (of course), but it is more important how you use and organize these hours than how many hours you spend,😊 this is my own experience, but this is not the only truth, hope it helps you!😄

    • @paohermosin
      @paohermosin  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      and it isn’t bad if you don’t use finger stretches, but it can help to release tension and to prevent injuries😊👍

      @@paohermosin I bet you blow the kids' minds at primary school when you play in front of them haha. I'm kind-of a teacher (in that I teach people how to become mentally well) and I'm often pushing the profound positive effect music has on mental health! It is my medicine also. I can sing, but I only play classical music and guitar at the moment. I'm not gonna lie, I'm obsessed!
      I think that what has helped me in my progress is that I have very good "concentration" but thats only one of a couple of my strong points. I have realised over time (and it probably took my first year of practice and reading etc) that there are many good reasons for having a teacher in this discipline, especially in the development of structure, posture and positioning. I've had to learn and un-learn quite a few bad habits I did not realise I was developing to begin with haha. Always enjoyed it though so...
      When you talked about "left hand jumps" I laughed too because I did not know that term but immediately knew what it meant... i find the chord jump at the end of Sons De Carrilhões tricky!! Thats a "jump" I'm currently working on. I know its isn't a big jump, i just think that its the complexity of the chord shape and with it being over four frets, with four notes. Its tough to land it fast for me but I've nailed the rest. (Bar 29: A minor to that C shaped chord right after).
      Anyway... I've waffled on enough.
      Challenge for you: La Vida Breve.
      Also, I think it would be cool one day if you shared your practice repertoire... maybe do a live stream just so we could get to see in real-time how the pro's get stuff DONE!
      Thanks again :)
