I grew up in Sheerness i went to the comp, then yts in Sittingbourne. It's a dump... Says me now living in a 10th floor North Manchester council tower block. Love your video you make it look nicer than I remember it!!! Have you been to Leysdown?? 😂😂
In 1976 worked in warners holiday camp in Sheerness. Didn't think much of the area and some of the younger workers who were from the area were a bit rough.
That island had so much going for it but blew it. The second bridge completed in 2005 came way too late. When I was a kid there was this "" lion hope"" project, that failed. Olau line pulled out, Klippon, Abbots laboratories, British steel all left. That's why that island is a pit these days.
Could you do pop-up shops to keep people in the space for small businesses? Also, could you sell any abandoned homes to young couples with some sort of strong incentive? Also, has England thought of opening call centers with major companies? Americans love English accidents.
The 5-8 hour time difference, and the fact the US can have callcenters in Philippines or El Salvador, mean there's no chance for an American callcentre in the UK.
It certainly isn't Eldorado, but there's lots of much worse places. I get sick of people running Sheppey down. Leave if you don't like it. No one's forced to come here. I love our little Island.
I go here and love it, the coast walks,, the fresh air, ok its like most places a little run down , shops shut ect,, it has a good history, the ppl were fine, 😁
Blue town. Was the Navy town back in the day. Sheerness Steel was in that area, once the government sold it all off sheerness like all other towns in the UK became unemployed.
I live in marine parade in a 3 storey town house , I can assure you my front door is above sea level , not the sea wall . but the view from our 2nd floor dinner & 3rd floor bedroom is stunning
... plus I think ya being a bit tight there, that fish and chips looks pretty delicious and decent to me, plus I like the decor its worthy of a good 9/10 I'd 😊say.
There is plenty going for our wonderful little island, if only people would highlight the good more, like the wildlife, beaches and community. It could be so much better if we weren't treated as second fiddle to Sittingbourne, the councils no1 play thing!
I've been to Sheerness many times. My Grandma used to live in Acorn Street for most of the 20th Century. My Dad and Mum got married at Holy Trinity Church. I used to enjoy the fairground rides and all the amenities. I last came down there in 2017. But is has gone downhill very quickly. The best thing about the island is the new bridge. In 2013, there was a big pileup in the fog. Police wanted to know why so many people were speeding? It was obvious!! To get off the island as quickly as possible.
I was going to say that. I remember the first time I went into the toilets of the Pentagon Centre in the middle of the town, and saw that there was a syringe bin in there!
If you seriously think this is the worst place in Kent then you haven't seen anything, I have lived all over Kent and Sheerness beats them all hands down, if your going to slag off a place do your research first.
Thanks for the comment Mark! Slagging it off? The point of the video is to highlight that despite its reputation it is not a bad place at all! Not sure where in the entire video I say anything particularly negative about the place that would be deemed 'slagging it off' so perhaps if you are going to comment on someone's video perhaps watch and listen to it first 🤣
Where should I go next? 🚙
Ashford kent ,,give yr option,,,the town is getting ready to turn Muslim, with the bowling ally nearly a mosque already in style, lol
Try Folkstone, if you can speak "polish"???!🤣🤣🤣
@@timpearce3314 Here is my video for Folkstone, hope you enjoy! th-cam.com/video/3hm_hA9iZlc/w-d-xo.html

Quite low annual rainfall. 711mm. All it needs, is an estate agent to add…on Sea to Sheerness and the place is in business

Another little less known fact is sheerness docks is home to the UK only Scorpion 🦂.
I don't think Sheerness is that bad. Been to Ramsgate recently? Now there's a dump!!!

Marine Parade just up the road from the Broadway is below sea level, the seawall, the beach is higher than the second floor flats there!! 😅

I remember visiting with my sister, and to prove that nobody visits, the town didn’t even have a decent coffee shop, godawful place
What do you rate as a decent coffee shop? Starbucks and Costa?
Check our bluetown fish bar too 😊

Not the worst, even close. Chatham is the absolute arse hole of kent
I was going to say that. I remember the first time I went into the toilets of the Pentagon Centre in the middle of the town, and saw that there was a syringe bin in there!

Its Chatham no contest
I'd like to know where he lives !? 🤨

Just because you play sad pop music doesn't make it a sad town. It's a peaceful town near the sea. Your summary is short sighted at best.
