I‘m a low level player and only used a Blackstar HT5TH 2x10 without any pedals and it was ok for me. Last year I bought a Catalyst 200 and I was shocked by the sound and the presence. From an emotional point of view the Catalyst is equal or even better than the Blackstar-Amp and… I only play clean without any fancy settings.
She is just a Clean Player, the last three Amp Models are very good for Metal sounds. Even the Boutique can get a Scorpions like distortion. Find out from Oleg if it can Chug.
The Catalyst series from Line 6 is known for not sounding particularly good, probably due to the speaker rather than the modeling itself. This is very unfortunate because I had the Spider Valve Mark III combo in collaboration with Bogner, and I also have the head amp, which is amazing. I don't understand why Line 6 can't do better when they have the experience and talent. I still remember when I started playing guitar at 17 or 18. It was the beginning of modeling, and this brand was really the best at that time, producing some incredible products. I haven't had the chance to test this particular amp, but from what I hear and the comments, even the Fender GTX sounds better than this. Are there people here who have tried it and have a more nuanced opinion on the new models? I'm curious to hear.
I got a 60 watt brand new in the speaker was all dented when the magnet and that plastic piece that surrounds those knobs came loose not good quality typical Yamaha their parts are junk

Great chordal playing Tiana!
so switching between all these great guitar sounds and settings, are they midi controllable
Awesome cleans and effects , great crunch,
nothing special for high gain sounds
actually there is this video doesn’t show that well I have the old version this is probably better
It's voiced a little different for the additional high gain tone.. like the original high gain tone, New one is cool though
STRATS are nothing special for hi-gain tones! Hums are better.

Guitar Player said pretty much the same thing - the achilles heel of a basically good amp is the speaker and cab.
This exact same comment is on every Catalyst video, word for word. It's either a Boss fanboy with no life, or a bot.

Very uninspiring amp, don't get it
Thank god you left that thought provoking comment Jim, otherwise I would have wasted my money.🤦🏻
