    It sounds like you have the right attitude for the "birth plan". Just wanted to help put your mind at ease a bit more regarding c-section. I had one vaginal delivery, one c-section, and one v-bac and my c-section was BY FAR the easiest and easiest recovery. Obviously everyone is different, but I prefer a c-section. But really, the birth plan should be..."babies come out and come out safe and healthy". If you go in with that attitude, you wold be let down :) Good luck!

    i totally agree with you about asking for help. when my best friend had her first kid i offered my help all the time and she always declined it and i could tell she was so stressed!! now she's having her second baby and is finally asking me for some help. :) your friends will be there for you regardless!! always remember you have people to lean on.

    Kendra you're looking great. My twin girls are now 23 and I had them at 38 weeks. 6lb 5oz and 6lb 13oz. They were so wonderful!! Mine were both head down but neither head would engage and I wound up with a c section. One tip I keep meaning to give you. We painted baby A's toe nail red...seriously they were that identical and it helped us so much. Wishing you the very best!!! 💗💗

    For the first 4 months my twins slept together in one bassinet by my bed and it worked great. They like being close together at the beginning since that's familiar to them xo

      feel free to message me if you have any questions on twins when the time comes. I know it was helpful for me to reach out to another twin mom when my guys were little. I especially appreciated the info around scheduling and feeding since I breastfed. All the best with your delivery and after, twins are a lot of work but an equal amount of joy :) xoxo

    So smart to go in without strict expectations. Things can change so quickly and it's so easy for plans to be derailed. Someone asked me about my birth plan for my babes and all I had was "to leave with healthy babies".

    Hi Kendra. Next Wednesday I'm going to hit my 30th week. I'm so exited to watch your videos around this last trimester. Funny that my baby boys are at the same position. Thanks for did those videos, they are like a guide for me that I'm not wrong with the baby movements and all of that. I have to be in bed because my cervix, to short at this moment, but good excuse to whatch your videos :)

    As you described the babies movement, I just pictured how it felt when I was pregnant with my babies. 😊 it was almost like I could still feel how it felt when they moved. Idk if that makes sense. But I love it. ☺️

    I LOVE your pregnancy update videos! I’m 29 weeks today so I had to watch this one and I noticed that you bought doc a tots. Did you use those a lot? I really wanted them but they’re sooo expensive! Do you feel like you got a lot of use out of them?

    Ideally, with identical twins, you want to make it to 37 weeks. I was almost 38 weeks but was on bed rest for most of the 3rd trimester :)

    • @Ehealey121
      @Ehealey121 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jenna Ann I think she since she is so high risk, due to the twins sharing a placenta, they tend to be safer out than in past 34-36 weeks

    • @jennaann5175
      @jennaann5175 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    So happy you and the girls are doing great! You look so amazing! I have a two year old boy and I am 10 weeks pregnant. I haven't had a ultrasound yet ( having one in two days) but have found two heart beats with a Doppler. 😬 they say it could be a echo or twins. We will see soon!

    We have just found out we are having twin girls, Who are identical and also sharing placenta. I am currently 18 weeks along. All of what you have said sounds so true and I can relate to a lot of what you have said. At what point did your Dr's discuss birth options with you? As no one has said anything to me yet and you hear so many horror stories or people who are sure you can only have a c-section! Which is very daunting! All the best! x

    • @kendraatkins
      @kendraatkins  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Kewala it depends on the babies position and what the doctor is comfortable with

  • @jacobandellie
    @jacobandellie 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    That is what happened with my twins. My boy was head down, and my girl was breech. So as long as my boy was delivered first, I could deliver vaginally. He made it happen, as I didn't want a Csection because I had a 1 year old, 2 year old and 10 year old at home to take care of!!! It worked great and they went to regular nursery! I was 38 weeks.

    Check out the blog birth without fear. Lots of twin birth stories on there. Breech is a variation of normal. In Canada they are now supporting vaginal breech birth over c-section as being the safer route. A excellent book to read is Ina Mae Gaskins book Guide to Childbirth.

    Your so darn beautiful seriously your baby girls are going to be amazinly beautiful I hope they have your eyes. I'm pregnant with our son I'm 28 weeks and 2 days due Jan 27th but because I broke my neck in a car accident by a drunk driver 6 years ago and have 10 screws and 4 long rods holding my spine in my neck together I'm being induced at 36-37 weeks. Our daughter is 14 months old and will be 16 months old when he's here. She was born at only 31.5 weeks so I'm on meds to help prevent preterm labor. I'm going to have to go natural and I'm nervous he's already a big baby our 14 month old was 5.8 so early and he's measuring 3 weeks ahead so they said to expect a 10 pound baby if he were term and 8+ pounds 36 weeks I'm freaking out because I can't get the epidural with him because they tried with my 14 month old and because also my low back the discs are crushed it shocked my body they had to stop with her. And I know I can do it just with our other children I got the epidural and him being so big is freaking me out lol. Your having twins and I know your going to do just great. I'm a little nervous having them 16 months apart both in diapers lol and chasing one and a newborn but so excited to. So we could be having our babies just weeks apart. You are going to be such a great mother

    • @strongertheninfertility3780
      @strongertheninfertility3780 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ps you look great for twins I'm a small framed women and was 125 pre pregnancy with our 14 month old and the day before she was born 31+4 weeks I was 180 and it was all in my belly butt and legs lol and boobs omg lol. 3 days before she was born I measured my belly and it was 49" around and I had 2 months to go and I had so much stretch marks looked like a big tiger got me. Your belly is so smooth and nice right now 28+2 I'm 44 "s around and after our 14 month old my belly went right back down and I want to 126 before I got pregnant again

    Don't co sleep. Please don't co sleep. I had twins, so you can do it without cosleeping. It's so dangerous!!!

    • @thegirlnexxtdoor3
      @thegirlnexxtdoor3 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Melissa Geittmann if it's done correctly it's not the dangerous....it's the same as saying don't cosleep because it's so dangerous....

    • @jacobandellie
      @jacobandellie 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Rachel Nicole it is dangerous. It's been proven! Sorry...just because you do it doesn't mean it's ok!

    • @Ehealey121
      @Ehealey121 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Melissa Geittmann co sleeping is different than bed sharing. co sleeping is when they sleep in the room with you (which is now recommended by the aap) and bed sharing is as it sounds

    • @jacobandellie
      @jacobandellie 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Ehealey121 nooo not true. Cosleeping definition...the act of sleeping in the same bed with ones infant or young child!

    • @destinybernard2104
      @destinybernard2104 8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Melissa Geittmann co sleeping is the biological norm. It has been proven to be safe for mom and baby if done safely. No big pillows or blankets by babies face. Sleeping close to mom helps to regulate heart rate and breathing, good for breastfeeding, keeps baby's temperature up, and keeps mom and baby from falling into a super deep sleep-keeps baby alive (back to the breathing point I stated before). Pretty much all mammals co sleep. We are the one of the only ones to drop out babies in a crib somewhere lol. It's safe and normal and natural. It can be done safely. ☺️
