Warp Knitting | Understanding the Basics and Lapping Movements

This is an original lecture by Nazmul Islam. This video covers the Warp knitting design and basics. The content has the following lecture:
Warp knitting is carried out by the Needle bar, guide bar, and sinker bar. For patterning, it has swinging motion from the machine and shogging motion from the links of the pattern cylinder. The lapping movements can be segregated in five types as mentioned in the knitting technology books by David J. Spencer. Those are :
1. Closed Lap: an overlap followed by an underlap in the opposite direction
2. Open Lap: an overlap followed by an underlap in the same direction
3. Open Lap: Only overlaps no underlaps
4. Laying-in: Only underlaps
5. Miss-lapping: Neither overlaps nor underlaps
It can be represented in number format known as Chain Notation. For example: 1-0/1-2 means 1 overlap 0 underlap 1 overlap 2.
