Keith, don’t do yours self an injustice we all really appreciate the effort you go to with your videos. The knowledge you are imparting is invaluable. Your channel is the mini restorers bible. Keep up the great work and thanks 👍🏻
The Racing Green is coming along nicely. Keith I’m sure with the experience you have working on the Mini’s you’ll soon have the front end on. Great series and always a great watch. Looking forward to Mark’s next update on his project too.
After a hard day/week at work it's always difficult to get motivated to get in the garage. You're always doing a great job with content 👏 keep up the good work.
Good work Kieth and don’t apologise for life getting in the way, all of us viewers are literally sitting on our arses watching you do all the work. Thanks for the content keep them coming!
Welding upside down . . . bwoohh. I hang my car in a frame made from 4 cheap building stamps and two 60mm square tubes across them welded 4 brackets on where you put 2 lorry cargo straps thru. The straps go around the Mini , jack them up and voila . . . I can turn around the whole body in a heartbeat. No more lying on my back and getting weld spatter up my sleeve. 😎 Nice job as always Keith. 👍
Great videos mate, sorry i'm just catching up with your videos. Life does get in the way and work for me over the last few months has had to take precedence over everything else so i've not touched the Cooper S since January. The minis aren't going anywhere so no worries about not being on them as much. 😎
Thanks Keith. I'm so pleased that you cut off the end of the sill near the rear. When I welded my outter sill last month, I didn't know what to do with that piece (impossible to insert it back where it would go originally) and did the same thing. I'm surprised you did not prep the blanking plate before welding them on the two holes. Isn't that a point of possible rust in the future? Or dod you prepped them before out of camera? Cheers.
Hey Keith just catching up on the last few episodes, great work as usual 👍 can I ask a quick ? Please. Should the end of the door step and the end of the sill finish flush at the back of the flitch panel ?? I've had ti replace part of my door step as it was gone. Thanks and keep up the great work 😉
Great work again Keith I am enjoying watching. I am embarking on my own project soon…what litre per min flow rate do you use on the mig bottle? Cheers Jay
I run it as low as possible to save gas, typically 2-3 liters per minute. That gives about 1hr continuous. If welding outside, you probably need to double that
hey mate. what size arms did you use to get inside the car to do the spot weld? ive only got the 125mm arms at the moment and there not long enough. are those 250mm u used or 350mm or 500mm?
No, they are just there for moving the car along the production line at assembly. They don't add any structural strength, although you could argue they maybe add a tiny bit, but nothing that would make any difference
My only advice is do your own pace not that of you tube viewers? else you will not enjoy it so much. Do you think a plug weld or spot weld is stronger?

How to speed fit a outer sill in lighting speed.. great work Keith

I need to replace the oversills on my mini... This makes me a bit more confident in trying it myself!
Go for it, the only way to know it's all done properly is to do it yourself
Love your videos Keith. I’ve just finished replacing the cooling system on my 83. Yay, no leaks, no more overheating.
First time I've commented. Really enjoy watching this project coming along and the work your doing. Keep plugging away mate 👍
Thanks 👍

I keep saying it, but next time I'll use a spit. I'm getting to old for crawling on the floor LOL
@@classicminiworkshop Believe me , you wil not regret it. 😉
Hiya Keith-great progress and a great job! Always look forward to the videos. Hope to see one from Mark too soon on the Cooper. Stay well.
Excellent job, well worth the extra prep
Nice job. It's much more pleasant to be working on clean metal isn't it.
So much nicer!
I must admit that I miss the music during the time lapse bits. Another grand job you’ve doing there Keith!
Coming along nicely 👌.. ive said this before but you make it look so easy 😆 but hey that's experience for you top video thanks
Thanks 👍
Great job as usual Keith. 👏

I’m not so late this time ! 😂👍
Thanks Keith.

Yes, I had sprayed them with weld through primer off camera

Yes, they should meet flush with the flitch panel

What panels do your prefer, herritage or M-Machine? Floors especially?
M-Machine are pretty good for the floors

Mine are 320mm to the tips and 350mm total length
@@classicminiworkshop thanks for that. and what's the vertical distance between the arms? is it 96mm?
Hi Keith. Having no slingers - does it have any affect on the structure?
No, they are just there for moving the car along the production line at assembly. They don't add any structural strength, although you could argue they maybe add a tiny bit, but nothing that would make any difference
Hi do you know where I can get a DTM exhaust side exit like on your purple sport .
Sorry, I'm not sure. The exhaust on mine is a Janspeed
Paul did you get to be 1st? Please say you did. I’ve held back for you.
Well you held the door open for me this week 🤣
1st
My only advice is do your own pace not that of you tube viewers? else you will not enjoy it so much.
Do you think a plug weld or spot weld is stronger?
I would say plug is stronger if its a good weld as plugs tend to be a 6-8mm wide weld whereas a spot weld is only around 3mm.
“Horrible, noisy and boring” sounds like my ex wife 😂
😂
LOL
