The prices we set are to make up for the tools/chemicals/GAS/knowledge/and time we spend on a vehicle that money gets reinvested into the bussiness and whatever the customer tips that goes into savings or extra money we can use for the business. Also when we as detailers feel appreciated for busting ass in 100° weather we go above and beyond for those customers. So thats why when we get low ballers we just walk away because its not worth doing specially when you got a good background to back up your skills.
I totally agree with you, Tony. anyone who tries to negotiate 'deals', or brags about having many cars or that they can get you more business- they simply do not have money. if they were going to get a service, but did not like your price, they would say 'thank you' and move on. if they haggle, they have no money, plain and simple. what a waste of time they are. I checked out your website, and your services are right there with other high-end professional services. if people complain about your price, they cannot afford you. you can suggest a drive-through, or a U-wash, and suggest they call you when they actually have some money.
Was watching a channel where the potential client didn’t want to hire the detailer to do his wife’s Mercedes because he charged TOO LITTLE. People that have money don’t want cheap. They want quality.

I think your location and catchment area is full of people with cars and no money. and it is way too big. great internet content; I love the videos. there has got to be a way to center your area in a very densley populated city-spot, and make a constant presence with your van, people see the van, and everyone 'almost' wants to get it done. they will eventually get it done if they see your van every every day.

Truth lol. I can tell you off the top of my head nonsense APC and there all purpose degreaser does the exact same thing. Silk n shine and there barebones undercarriage dressing does exact same thing. Not to mention there soaps being expensive as they are! CG does have some decent products but there marketing & delivery to weekend warriors is quite successful tbh.

Answer me this, do you tip a cashier for checking out your items? Do you tip the fast food employees who make minimum wage and serve your food?

He then took 15 bucks off my price and said do it. I ended up doing them but after he kept saying I left water spots on the car but before hand they were there
If I get a low-balling customer I explain the benefits of getting a _real detail_ and what's involved. If they still try to discount me I tell them they're not at the right car wash and I direct them to the Albanian's down the road who do the splash-and-dash.
Oh and the other customer told me he had tons of customers for me that are in law enforcement, IF I GAVE EM A DISCOUNT. Told him send your friends over and ill try and hook them up... never heard a damn thing, and i gave him a free wash $250 worth i was dumb hahaha
