when i try it with an interval of 5 and duration of 7, i get an error message: "interval of 5 cannot be less than duration of 7". Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

Like, could you create a mask layer which preserves the underlying video, whilst a layer of text datamoshes as the camera moves? So you kind of create this morphy, weird-looking text that is invisible to begin with, but carries the warped textures from previous frames onto another surface.
Dude, thanks for explaining exactly what it was first! Watched quite a few videos about it, none were as clear. This also explains why it seems like some random videos have what looks to be datamoshing in them, it is an error in the compression of the file that is rendered, right? Not like the wild edits I have been seeing, and like you do here, just that it does happen from time to time.

Sorry, more clear, when After Effects is open, at the top you have File, Edit, ect. One of them is Windows. Go there and expressions. It's also a render effect, so you won't be able to see what it does in real time. You're going to have to render over and over until you get the look you want.

Art doesn't mean or equal "beautiful", "cute" or "perfect" everytime... For example, if the concept of your video is to show the ugliness of something and your aesthetic is perfect, it doesn't really make any sense at all. It's really common in video art or experimental movies to have an "ugly" aesthetic, because it makes sense with the concept of your movie and what you are trying to say about a particular subject matter.
Because it looks badass and experimental. You really don’t think it looks cool when a frame literally bleeds into another frame? I think you should check out originalname for some well-implemented data-moshing

This is it. The rest of the tutorials in TH-cam do a lame, blocky job at datamoshing. This is the correct way.

How do I even open the plug-in?
Go to windows, then expressions.

On my opinion the datamoshing is a effect that scares me and my eyes . That's all i have to say

I just checked the debug mod and found out the problem was just a bad name file file with the letter "é" wich was the issue.
