No no. Don't clap yet, I'm not finished. He gets so into his one man band, but it seems the crowd doesn't appreciate the gravity of what is happening. Brilliant.
Good for him. He had as much excitement as he would if the room was packed with EDM/Dub-step people. That is a perfect example of a true professional who loves what he does.
Not a soul in the room and yet you still give it ..nothing to do with your playing you are amazing ....I have stolen a few things from you ...I'm not as amazing, getting there ..thanx for the inspiration
Wow he's genius - great demo of the products. Not sure about the audience, it must have been like turning up at the wrong gig. Fantastic playing and an inspiration to anyone interested in eDrums!
Very Nice. I was stuck. Octopad or SPD-SX. My Roland kit keeps me busy so I think the SPD-SX would be a better choice for recording my own stuff for loops and effects to add to my Roland or pick up some pad triggers for my Acoustic kit. Octopad is more of a mini drum kit. You can add triggers kick pedal- hi hat etc. I have that with my Roland now. So I think SPD-SX is what I'm going to get next.
There are videos on what it can do we need to know how to do it. I cant take songs and sample them with tempo sync. I cant even get the click to run true. I compared it with my td9 click and they are different at same tempos. Can anyone help ??I t also looks like the cymbals are triggering samples thru auxillery. there"s no mention of that. Guidance would be greatly appreciated. A lot of coin was dropped for a sophisticated tape recorder.
He mentions "Tempo Seeking" at 1:48. This is a feature I'm really interested in but can't find anything online about. Anybody have any info on it? Thanks for posting this Vid! He's a great drummer and very informative!
This is awesome but couldn't they find a cheap light set to rent and dim the lights a bit? I feel like it's shot at an AA meeting at the Holiday Inn or something.
yep, Michael's the man. Michael was running all the samples off the SPDSX and playing without a click. It's also possible to route click just to headphones and sync the loops in time or play freestyle with the SPDSX, the choice is yours. On the audience numbers, keep in mind it was an invited audience only product launch running in rotating sessions all day so not a public event hence the small audience size. Lucky people! See Roland Australia's youtube channel for in depth vids with Michael on all things V-Drums and howe it's done. cheers! th-cam.com/users/RolandcorpAUS
Can anyone please explain to me how he was able to get multiple tracks on to one pad? For example he hit one pad that had the Electric guitar for "Smells Like Teen Spirit" mixed with a different track. Also, is there a way to have a loop that will continue until you hit it again? Im very interested
It's all in the programming. Once you've understand the the pad along with the software, then it's all about being creative. My guess is that he used a DAW to edit songs and chopped them precisely into loops. Then from there, he added them to the sample pad software.
The complete audience seems to be paralyzed or having some sort of seizure… It also could be another Drummer at the wrong gig; but who knows… However Great Work, Brother Michael -CeeHimself
Biggils fuk no not like him but there's sum talented hybrid drummers out there...it's harder than tapping loops in ableton, he's live playing over stems of hit songs, idk where he got ahold of em or he made thm himself?!
The spd-sx can be really cool if you have hours and hours to spend using it.... it takes ages to find decent song samples or make them yourself... n he makes his own dubstep samples which take hours to make, Its kinda useless if your not into making your own beats and drops
I love how he delivers full intensity in spite of the nature of the crowd. That's a true performer.
This is one of the best videos I've ever seen. You cannot watch him perform without smiling. The enthusiasm is contagious.
No no. Don't clap yet, I'm not finished. He gets so into his one man band, but it seems the crowd doesn't appreciate the gravity of what is happening. Brilliant.
not many ppl understand modern ways of making music and "modern" music in general.
This is awesome, but those poor old people are stunned!!! lmao!
Good for him. He had as much excitement as he would if the room was packed with EDM/Dub-step people. That is a perfect example of a true professional who loves what he does.
I love the old folks at the end thinking "what just happened?"
His creativity is amazing! Love to watch this guy perform. Very inspiring.
Don't clap yet, I'm not finished...brilliant!!

Not sure about the audience, it must have been like turning up at the wrong gig.

this is weird in so many ways... I like it.
Such an amazing clinic and not one person in the crowd gave a fuck

Daft Punk at 1:40
There's nobody there for cripes sake!
Haha those poor people dont have a clue whats going on!!.....dont clap yet ..haha F... Funny!
Roland should proud of him
He is the main spokes person for Roland instruments!
KOCAMAN BİR LIKE SANA MARSHALL TAITE !!!
The spd-sx can be really cool if you have hours and hours to spend using it.... it takes ages to find decent song samples or make them yourself... n he makes his own dubstep samples which take hours to make, Its kinda useless if your not into making your own beats and drops
Those dubstep samples aren't his. They're snippets of popular tunes chopped up to his liking.
+Michael Medina he samples tunes but adds dubstep parts over the top
+DrummerMattUK the "Dubstep" in the song is sampled from things like Pendulum and Knife party. not his own
I'm going to take a shot in the dark and say that the audience isn't into that kind of music.
