I bought this multitool after watching this video and I'm really impressed by the ergonomics of the pliers and scissor and wanted to share something that I found really cool. The unlock button on the scissors is only used to fold it. The rest of the scissors mechanics are latched using magnets to keep it open or closed when inside the tool. The pliers also latch open and close using magnets which gives it an amazing ergonomic feel in my opinion. But what interested me the most is that when you unfold the pliers, the side that holds the scissors has a slightly weaker magnet, meaning you will always open the pliers on that side first and they will never be in the way of opening the scissors. I found that tiny detail amazing considering this thing is just $50.

Roxon S801S - the best multitool I’ve ever owned ! Outstanding quality for $53 💵 or £43 💷 So, so underrated but those of us that know, are having the last laugh at the ‘big boys’ ie Leatherman ! 🇬🇧
Awesome presentation mate. It's great that you wander off the high end multitools and into the "blue collar" multitool. There is lot out there, most of them just need some honest exposure. The Roxon have been our main tool for our camera bags. Its usage compliment the adjustment on cameras, tripods & attachments etc. Definitey an added asset for wild photography & camping. The scissors are the best there is for its size but not recommend to cut wood/branches though. With the knife replacement, we made some adjustment with strips (metallic) for props for small digital camera/phone, utility blade, magnifier & magnesium/ferro etc. It's a fun project. Cheers cobber.! Warm greetings from Australia.
I've carried the older version of this without the revised phillips head for about 2 years now, and it's seriously awesome for a budget multitool. The scissors are every bit as amazing as they look (I was cutting CAT5 cable with them for a month straight with only a little bit of wear), the side tools are a lot more useful than you'd think, and it really is comfortable in the hand. I normally run the "talon" karambit-style blade for the work I do (btw, name me another multitool with a karambit blade!) Unfortunately, the build quality is a little rough in places, the liner lock on the saw stopped engaging properly after a while, and the scissor side of the handle straight up fell off after one of the chicago screws holding the pivot in place backed out. That said however, I was able to contact Roxon's customer service, and they sent me a new set of screws and a new pivot via express mail, so at least the manufacturer has your back if something goes wrong. Also, one more neat thing about this system; the Phantasy (the pocketknife) is a fantastic first knife to buy if you're not sure what kind of blade shape you prefer, without having to spend a bunch of money on different knives!
Between this and the Goat Tools (modular) tool, there are some innovative options these days! A couple times I've thought I was only going to watch 5 minutes of your videos, but I end up watching all of it because I must see the rest of the tool! Thanks for your contributions to the EDC community.
For 50$, I've seen way worse, this seems like a really great glove box multi tool that has been actually thought out well. A great belt carry for the right profession too. Thanks for the upload friend!
roxon might use lower grade SS but its manufactured with their own design / innovation instead of just a clone of wave of surge with a bit of modifications. i love the scissor and it feels solid and heavy
I just got mine the other day, and I'm loving it. It is chonky, but it feels good in the hand and pocket because of the soft corners. The big blade you can flip out with your thumb is nice. The removable blade is like a revelation, and you can get a three pack of different blades for like $20. I just wish the Philips head screwdriver was just a bit bigger. It's electronics sized. It's a great multi tool. I've owned numerous brands, and depending on how it holds up, it may be my favorite. I pray it doesn't fall apart.
This is such a great tool, makes you think if Roxon can do it, why can't the pioneers of multitool do something this good without making it a premium limited edition in their garage.
I have had one for about 2-3 years. It’s nice to see they up grade the secondary tools, the original bottle cap opener would not open a bottle cap and did not have a bit holder. Mine lives in yard work bucket. Also have the pocket knife and several blades it’s light and very usable
This thing seems kind of heavy and bulky, but it has a lot of great design features that make me wonder if the other multitool companies are still stuck in the 1990s. I especially like the rounded corners that make it comfortable to hold.
I've had the smaller version of this for years (only blade and scissors). It is very light, so I use it on my hiking and fishing trips. It's very well designed and a pleasure to use. But I had to sharpen both the knife and scissors berfore use. The steel isn't the hardest, so it is easy to sharpen but also dulls a lot quicker than my other knifes. What I really like is that it doesn't rust. Nice tool to have.
I watched the video twice placed the order for the multi tool, the knife and replacement blades. I purchased Roxon multi tools in the past and they are all pretty good.
I have 2 Roxon, the Storm and M3 which are great budget friendly and practical multitools. But Phantom is so creative in particular the way to change the blade. It is useful for cleaning the knife as well. Amazing product. Thank for sharing!
I've been carrying this for a few days now and I've been blown away by how nice this is. It's definitely bulky, but it feels sturdy and comfortable. Thanks for showing this off!
@@fancy_owo I got it when it was still on sale on amazon, along with the folding knife that also has the quick Swap blades, and a couple of quick swap blades.
While the description says "tool only" it does come with one each of a bi-metal th-cam.com/users/postUgkx0vyBwjtx9GGOuiqUVT2sRoYqmDoNT_RI and HCS blade plus an adaptor plate for non-DeWalt blades. Wish I had known that before I bought the blade kit, but oh well. Since I already have a DeWalt drill, charger and batteries there was no need to buy more of those so this was a great deal. There is one other consideration. DeWalt does't sell the depth guide separately so you need to buy the three parts which make it up -- the N275350 block assy, the N275341 metal rod and the N278801 knob. Amazon does sell all three.
There are some great Chinese options. I tossed up between this and Nextool. I went with Nextool professional, but think I may have chosen the second best option. The extra parts and swappable blades make this recommendable
The philips bit on my Nextool was very brittle and the t chipped off after a couple uses. The scissors on it are really good though. I think this is probably the better option.
I love the idea of changing out certain parts to add or remove certain parts is a game changer. The s501u is absolutely amazing. I may buy this multiool in the future
Great presentation. I was biased towards LM of which I have numerous, but this might be an added option based off your review. The easy interchangeable blade swap feature is clutch. Both for swapping and cleaning. I am really impressed with the scissor size most. I can't tell how sturdy the bit drive would work out but, for light duty(obviously) most likely & besides, I rarely use any of mine. So, I'll most likely swoop one of these up, Proably as a glove box saviour for our vehicles.
I have the version of this that has a wine opener in my car. It’s saved the day on a road trip and a picnic and I haven’t even had it that long. Very good value.
Great review. Thanks for giving more options than the meanstream ones. Especially some budget options that even have a bit of innovation going on. More of this would force some of the mainstream multi-tool providers to innovate a bit more too. Good for everyone.
The deployment of blade and popout for smaller tools looks slick. I like thumb stud deployments. Getting the tool quickly to bear on the task at hand is super important.
I bought the multi tool, knife and blades it is one of my favorite EDC kits. I pitched the sheaths and bought one that holds everything plus some extra things. If you have not already bought it you are missing out. They have now updated the number of blades that you can get for both the multi tool/knife to 17 different types. I will be adding the two new sets three in each set. The cool thing is that they all magnets in them so that they will lock together. It’s a great multi tool/knife combo. Money well spent and full of value.
I like this Roxon S802 Phantom Multitool. It has pliers and scissors. I especially like the ability to replace the knife blade with the accessory utility blade. Unfortunately, that blade (BA08) costs an additional $24. That is prohibitively expensive to me.
Thanks for the video. I agree. After carrying all the expensive brands and never being completely happy, I came across the Roxon S801S Storm, which I carry in my EDC backpack. I added a hex drive tapered drill bit (made for pre-drilling when woodworking) that fits in the sheath next to the bits. I also agree the utility blade would be best for me, as I’m never without a proper folding knife in my pocket.
They did their homework, I own a SAK alox farmer and a leatherman skeletool : both offer some comfort in the grip and enough scale tomake some work with. for the letherman I had to purchase extension and bits in a separate kit (just to use 3 of them). I miss my SAK cybertool (which had some bits inside it and a nice extension built in) this Roxon checks a lot of wants from other multitools. Especially comfort since the signal, the supertool, or other are especially painful to exerce force with. I hope it has the toughness to back it up.
I got this a couple weeks ago. My new favorite tool. It is seriously like a figit spinner because you can deploy the pliers one handed with a flip and with a little practice you can release the spring loaded pliers and flip it closed one handed also. I can use all tools one handed pretty well
I've got one, £49.99 in the UK. I keep it in my EDC pouch which I mainly use when at archery. It does everything I need it to do, zero complaints. I don't beat on it but the pliers are great for pulling arrow tips from wood.
Those scissors look impressive. That alone makes this tool worth picking up. I use scissors quite often and a set that is more like shears hasn't existed on a multitool before.
Nice Review Dom! Your channel is by far one of the best because you stay true to your followers by truly providing affordable products, facts, differences with pros and cons, and other details that usually aren’t known to an average consumer. Even as your channel keeps growing, you still don’t follow the path that other content creators have been going by doing reviews on very expensive products that most people can’t fit in their budget. I personally stopped following about 5 other edc channels lately because all they post is high end products and nothing else so I found it irrelevant to watch. Keep up the great content and keep staying true to your followers! 👌🏻until next time!
I own a leatherman wave and I'm thinking about getting that thing. Looks awesome! Having good pair of shears is important to me that's why I carry a leatherman style sc on my keys all the time.
Thinking about ordering one, it has exactly the toolset I consider useful and its strongest feat is the exact opposite of the very thing I dislike the most about my SOG PowerPint - the scissors.
Wow! You just blew that out the water! I'm glad I got one yesterday when you first reviewed it, they are flying off the Amazon shelf super fast and the blades too, you are becoming the authority on edc gear, I hope Roxon is paying you for giving them that stamp!
@@maxlvledc wow! I just got this tool! I'm so happy! This thing is super awesome! You are right, it feels good in the hand! I lubricated all the pivots, changed blades, dam this tool is blows out the competition, thanks. I have no words, except I want another one, particularly the 801s with the corkscrew, thanks Dom...
Very nice, those are the nicest scissors I’ve ever seen on a multi tool.Thought out model , well done , good presentation . Sometimes some exposure opens some eyes as to what else is out there that has value at a fair price .
Another great review. Keep your eyes on ROXON. I bought this S802 and it is a little bulky but feels very nice in the hand. I believe ROXON is proud of their scissors , and should be. I also bought the S501 which is a knife and scissors only, no sheath, pocket carry. Also the M3 which is much smaller. Its scissors are smaller but still excellent. Comes with tweezers, tooth pick, knife, openers and bit kit. Comes with sheath but is very pocket friendly. Thanks again for all your reviews.
All the s501 needs is the swappable blades and it would be close to perfect, as it is its already really nice especially for the price. I did hear some complaints about the scissors on it though that they flex a lot more than the phantom ones do. Did you run into that problem?
I have found all my ROXON scissors work fine. Yes the swappable blades are nice. Do note that the utility blade causes a problem when closing the tool. Other then that I like it.
I'm not a big knife collector guy; I'm more utility. I've owned the same Leatherman Wave for like 15 years or so, but the fact that that can carry utility blades has me interested. Very cool find
I have brought this one, it was too heavy for me so I gave it to my dad ( he liked it though). This multi tool is heavier than leatherman i owned so it is hard for me to carry. Brought the knife only version and change the blade to utility blade. It was the best decision ever. It was light enought for me and very comfortable in my hands.
Love this. Thanks so much for sharing! Absolutely agree, while I'm a sucker for a nice sheepsfoot blade, I think I'd rock the utility razor holder as well. (But glad I'd have both with the same add-on kit!) This looks like an incredible value, and I'm really tempted to get the set as my first multitool. I think my only desired feature that's missing would be a saw blade holder, instead of a fixed sawblade. But that sliding bar to lift the smaller tools, that doubles as the lockbar for them is absolutely a must-have. Hope to see that propagate elsewhere.
Now, that's a damn multitool! Awesome scissors, comfortable look. With the innovative blade exchange it needs nothing more than the Leatherman's jigsaw blade exchanger to make it just perfect. Sadly here in Germany it costs around 70€ and comes without bit-set and replacement cutters. Do you know about the Rockwell hardness? Type of steel (8Cr17) is only less than half of the fun, proper heat treatment the more important rest. Stay safe and take care
I was hesitant at first because the bits are so small, but often in edc situations I don't need a thicker/wider driver, I need something for smaller situations. I'm getting one of these.
I'm using the ROXON S801S at work. Got it two years ago, and it's still working great. Only downside is that it's a bit bulky. So I might upgrade to this one.
@@maxlvledc actually pretty good. Had to resharpen the knife and scissors only once or twice. The scissors on the s801 are great for cutting cardboard and single wires. Great All in one tool. Also the file is pretty usable, since it locks and is placed well - which was important for me. Here it costs around 50€ so I can't complain. Got mine 2019-2020. In the beginning it was definitely stiffer than a Leatherman. But a bit Ballistol worked wonders.
I have the older one without the interchangeable blades . Love it! It lives in my car. Maybe I'll pick up the new one. Now their 10 dollars less. Thank you for your informative video.
Honestly if they made a bit driver blade replacement and attached that to just those scissors I would be happy as a clam. Then I could make a decision if I want to use a box opener, a blade, a driver, or maybe a combo multitool. Imagine this but it has two blade swap segments. You could load up a knife and driver one day then a box cutter and combo multitool "blade" another day. Attach this scissors to two interchangeable blades and that would be my dream multitool.
i own the Roxon phantasy S502 (the pocket knife). i have also the utility knife replaceable blade. i solve my issue to sharp my pocket knife every 15 day (due to working abuse)
so glad to see a review of this one. been scrolling past it on amazon for ages, ive always assumed it was just a trash teir tool quality. those scissors look amazing
Well mine arrived today. First impressions is that it has superb build quality. I love the fact that all fasteners are able to be tightened if ever needed. The saw is the weak point. It couldn’t even handle a small 1 inch branch. I will attempt to sharpen. Everything else is remarkably well designed. I bought these mostly for the scissors. They are amazing. Along with the sharp knife blade. Tanto. Always a fave. Great design for all opening functions.
thanks for the video, just received mine, brought this because the change blade system, i love the clear carry box they included to storage extra blade(not shown in your video) now i can use a different blade to cut my food/fruit in lunch break at job sites without cleaning the nasty blade used for work that is full of tape residue or other worse residue. Also this surprise me for the good QC, compare to 10-15years ago, multitool at this price was not even usable, bad hinge, no lock, bad blade, even not accurate drivers.
My wallet cries "No, Maxlvledc, NO!" every time there's a new video. My only point of concern was that at 5:21 the liner lock didn't appear to engage on the saw very well - was that just my eyes playing tricks on me, or will I need to file it a bit down? Also, in your opinion, could the scissors be used as makeshift trauma shears?
China has really been upping the game in the way of cheap but great products. Between major manufacturers being based out of there to smaller more focused companies like this. Love the video and this seems like a great recommendation
Yeah I have their knife/scissor combi tool and I cut all the artificial turf in my yard with the scissors. They're INSANE. Best scissors I've EVER owned.
Great review. I am waiting for mine to arrive this morning. I will let you know how it goes whilst working around my country homestead. For me those scissors made me want one of these.
I've ordered one of these and have had it for a few days. You're so right about this tool. Very comfortable. I was surprised with how robust the scissors are and how well they perform. The teeth on the pliers could be a touch more aggressive yet they work fine. The blade exchange is brilliant and very simple. The Phillips driver could stand to be a little heavier duty. Overall I would say it's worth the money.
Just orderd mine cant wait to try it. I am on board with u on the box cutter. I dont need a knofe in my tool. Hell i would get way more use out of the comb which i may get lol
i was seriously thinking on getting a leatherman for my birthday, but honestly, the roxon looks exactly like what i always wanted, the scissors and the utility knife thing is simply the best part, because i can use it for my job all the time, and if i go somewhere else i just pop the tanto back on and go have a fun.
@@leodlf1743 honestly i just bought the roxon and i still want the leatherman, my only problem with this roxon is that there was another moedl just a little more expensive but have driver bits, and i also wanted those but i hate the cork screw because to me its useless, anyway, yes i believe you are gonna like them both.
For the price it looks worth it. Just from watching this video I could tell there's quite a number of tension parts in that multi tool, I guess time will tell how the quality of that tool will hold up.
I've had mine for about 4 weeks, the extra blades came immediately, but the tool itself took 3-4 weeks and have some different blades coming in in a month. I love it, it's my edc right now. the Phillips is week and I'd love to have a larger flat-blade. I m using the serrated blade. really want to see a version 2 with more than one swappable blade. the scissors are great. I don't mind the bulk, it sits in my front pocket just fine. and, of course, its awesome to show it off at work. still not understanding your obsession with pocket clips

Oh my dam! I just got this bad ass! I lubricated all the adjustments, bought extra blades also, Super sweet tool, thanks...
I must be psychic. I ordered this last night! And most of the things you pointed were the deal sealers for me. Great stuff man.
Great review. Thanks for giving more options than the meanstream ones. Especially some budget options that even have a bit of innovation going on. More of this would force some of the mainstream multi-tool providers to innovate a bit more too. Good for everyone.
Love the shears, exchangeable main blades, and tool deployment button.
Love the fact of a utility blade featured in a multitool. Excellent idea.
My son got me this for my birthday recently and I really like it. It's a little bigger than I would normally want to carry, but I still like it a lot.
3cr steel will cut rope, and utility blades can hand 95% of the edc and work cutting I need
I'm ordering one of these now.
I just got mine after watching your shorts video a few days ago. So far i'm impressed with the build and quality of it
They did their homework, I own a SAK alox farmer and a leatherman skeletool : both offer some comfort in the grip and enough scale tomake some work with. for the letherman I had to purchase extension and bits in a separate kit (just to use 3 of them).
I can use all tools one handed pretty well
That blade exchanger feature was awesome! And the little button to pop up the inner tools/release the lock! Genius!
I've got one, £49.99 in the UK. I keep it in my EDC pouch which I mainly use when at archery. It does everything I need it to do, zero complaints. I don't beat on it but the pliers are great for pulling arrow tips from wood.
This channel is pumping out the content lately. Super enjoyable.
glad u like.
I gotta say I agree this tool looks really good.
Like BDEDC?
The most badass multi tool design I ever seen.
I can't get enough of this video, I watched it about 5 times already, I can't wait for this tool to come...
just the commission I get for the tool on amazon. Im ok with that.
Happy to see the extra utility blades are available on Amazon with the tool.
How much lesser quality is roxon compared to the wave? Im stuck between them
I have brought this one, it was too heavy for me so I gave it to my dad ( he liked it though). This multi tool is heavier than leatherman i owned so it is hard for me to carry. Brought the knife only version and change the blade to utility blade. It was the best decision ever. It was light enought for me and very comfortable in my hands.
Mine arrived this morning and I’m seriously impressed. Got the additional 3 blade pack with it, so have the utility knife too. Fantastic value!
That thing looks like one of the most versatile multitools I’ve seen
And this is why I follow your channel!!
You look for budget tools and give an honest review
Thanks man keep it up
Those beefy scissors sold me on the concept. I went for the ROXON S501 KS 2 knife/scissor combo for EDC. Thanks for the suggestion!
Very innovative, good for them and good for us. Hopefully they sell a lot and big companies notice the hype.
Thanks for the video! This will make a great Father’s Day gift!
This is the best multi tool in the market. For the price and feature, it is a real tool. Any multi tool over 100 is just a toy.
I was hesitant at first because the bits are so small, but often in edc situations I don't need a thicker/wider driver, I need something for smaller situations. I'm getting one of these.
Ozark Trail 15-in-1 Multi Tool with Sheath in Blister Pack, Model 6001 worth the $16 dollars!
I have this … Leatherman Corp. be afraid, be VERY afraid….this is a superior product
how long??
This is the multitool I never knew I needed. I have to get one of these.
I'm using the ROXON S801S at work. Got it two years ago, and it's still working great. Only downside is that it's a bit bulky. So I might upgrade to this one.
how is the Heat treatment?
@@maxlvledc actually pretty good. Had to resharpen the knife and scissors only once or twice. The scissors on the s801 are great for cutting cardboard and single wires. Great All in one tool. Also the file is pretty usable, since it locks and is placed well - which was important for me.
Here it costs around 50€ so I can't complain. Got mine 2019-2020. In the beginning it was definitely stiffer than a Leatherman. But a bit Ballistol worked wonders.
How did I not know about your channel? Excellent work and presentation. Subscribed! Wish you the best of luck.
I have the older one without the interchangeable blades . Love it! It lives in my car. Maybe I'll pick up the new one. Now their 10 dollars less. Thank you for your informative video.
There's a lot to this MT design that I like. It also looks fairly well built.
I like the saw blade and scissors. Impresssive
so glad to see a review of this one. been scrolling past it on amazon for ages, ive always assumed it was just a trash teir tool quality.
those scissors look amazing
Well mine arrived today. First impressions is that it has superb build quality. I love the fact that all fasteners are able to be tightened if ever needed. The saw is the weak point. It couldn’t even handle a small 1 inch branch. I will attempt to sharpen. Everything else is remarkably well designed. I bought these mostly for the scissors. They are amazing. Along with the sharp knife blade. Tanto. Always a fave. Great design for all opening functions.
what is it like to have in your pocket, say a pair of jeans. Would you say its too big and bulky to be able to carry around?
thanks for the video, just received mine, brought this because the change blade system, i love the clear carry box they included to storage extra blade(not shown in your video) now i can use a different blade to cut my food/fruit in lunch break at job sites without cleaning the nasty blade used for work that is full of tape residue or other worse residue.
I dont remember feeling like it was an issue when I made the video, just checked and lockup was fine (milage may vary)
Tank you for sharing. I will take a closer look at this multitool for sure.
Have the Roxon Phantom and extra blades on my Amazon wish list! I love it!
that's the best multitool i've seen so far!
Absolutely agree. ROXON and some of the Ozark MTs are underrated champs.
I’ve been wanting a good multi tool. Having scissors is a must so this is a nice package. It’s priced at $50
Just saw a short on this tool and now I'm about to go find one!
I have this and all the extra blades. All worth the money!👍
Just orderd mine cant wait to try it. I am on board with u on the box cutter. I dont need a knofe in my tool. Hell i would get way more use out of the comb which i may get lol
Those are some gnarly scissors. I do like that one hand deployment feature for the drivers and removable scales.
well well now we have a hidden gem for sure, i carry a leatherman surge for my daily but this im going to have to give this a try like wow just wow!
Thank you for sharing this! I will definitely be buying one and running it! The replaceable blade is exceedingly appealing to me
i was seriously thinking on getting a leatherman for my birthday, but honestly, the roxon looks exactly like what i always wanted, the scissors and the utility knife thing is simply the best part, because i can use it for my job all the time, and if i go somewhere else i just pop the tanto back on and go have a fun.
Dammit I just bought a leatherman wave should have bought this instead
@@leodlf1743 honestly i just bought the roxon and i still want the leatherman, my only problem with this roxon is that there was another moedl just a little more expensive but have driver bits, and i also wanted those but i hate the cork screw because to me its useless, anyway, yes i believe you are gonna like them both.
For the price it looks worth it. Just from watching this video I could tell there's quite a number of tension parts in that multi tool, I guess time will tell how the quality of that tool will hold up.
i've never seen such a nice army nife.
thanks to show us that.
Nice comparo. Seriously considering this as part of my edc kit. Thank you!
Thanks for the great review, I was looking for a multi-tool for my truck, and just ordered the S802s using your link.
Excellent review. I will order one
This kicks a$$ thanks for the heads up!
