I also want to know whether such kids pick up speech eventually by following what you have said and therapy sessions? Y are such kids lagging only in speech and understanding when all other faculties seem normal?

Less eye contact is a symptom of autism, my son didn’t speak single word when he was 2 year old, he has mild symptom of autism but with speech therapy now he is 8 year old with age appropriate skills. So don’t worry, if kids have only speech delay they can get through it.
