Changing your system date doesn't make you a hacker. That's not what a hack is... It's embarrassing that this is possible, the devs shouldn't have set the events to start and end by your system clock. They're within their rights to bonk you with the banhammer if you use this exploit, but it's on the devs here imo. I hope they push out a patch but don't ban players who access this, it's hard enough to fill lobbies already.
just to be clear, through the video I was calling it a Hack/Exploit because there are a number of people who tried the system clock trick and it didn't work for them. Crashy News was the only explanation thus far. So I do not know if this is truly a Hack and/or exploit. Will update title and thumbnail when more clarity is given!

I posted the video showing someone playing as Ripto and something I noticed is that the two players who were playing as him spent more or less 30 minutes playing but they always remained at level 1, and the matches were strange, they were slow and some players were standing around doing nothing. It's sad what these hackers do, it spoils the entire game and other players but I hope the devs can fix it as soon as possible :(
Not the gaslighting from the discord saying it was private lobby when one of the exploiters is live on Twitch in a normal lobby using the mines and their duo is Ripto 😭
If you want to do the exploit: Set your console way ahead after s2 ends. 2024 is fine Activate 30 epic relic stations for mines and 50 kos + assists for Ripto they arnt on the screen so equip them as you unlock them. Also lol @ all the sperging out at calling it a hack instead of an exploit or glitch
1:17 datamine and dataleak programme. Simply get the data and you control everything. Dev mode also helps. So yeah; having a roadmap like this for your game? It's actually a really bad idea. Even without that, I've seen people get dataleaks of cut content in multiplayer lobbies, usually by modding it in. Also, don't recommend changing your digital clock; your computer runs on contracts. These are digitally tied to your computers time being set properly. Go too far back, or too far into the future, and those contracts cease to work, this has dire consequences to your PC, such as not even being able to use the UI of your browsers. Not being able to use the UI is like having all your buttons disabled and being blank; you don't want that!
I tried changing the date on my console, and it apparently didn't work. So this really is a hacker. Because, if this worked, the person would not be considered a cheater, since this is within the game itself and can be used by anyone. The worst that can happen is to remove the hero/power from his account, but banning it will be very difficult
If you use Xbox, then it resets the date to the present time once you leave offline mode to go online. This only works if the console is a Play Station. So it's still an exploit and not a hack.

Imagine someone getting banned from a game they paid good money for all because they played a character earlier (and only once) who's a normal part of the game by resetting the Playstation time (an intended feature). People don't want to play on servers who'd be quick to snitch over something petty. Even if unlocking characters earlier than intended is controversial, the gameplay itself is still fair so it's not a bannable offense. Otherwise TFB may as well ban majority of Playstation users, because a lot of them mess with their date/time. And this would make it harder than ever to fill the servers. ^^;

The best way to define a hack is something that uses an external tool. to inject code that's not supposed to be there. While an oversight is... 1÷1=1.00001 Which rounds up to 2 You did something Perfectly within the game's rules. now a higher Or lower value is in a place that it was never intended. Ditto in Pokemon does this a lot. When you mess with its moves or do certain other actions, It can cause the game to not properly reset the moves. and either giving you moves of a different Pokemon or in Gen 1 Super Glitch.
And THIS is why I'd love it if people would stop asking for a PC port. If a PC port happens, it shouldn't be cross-platform. Because I don't want to play on my PS4 and get the shit kicked out of me by PC players who hack, mod, and cheat their way to victory. PC is the absolute WORST when it comes to fun games being broken.

The bubble and shroom relic stations were taken out temporarily by the devs because there was an issue with them. I'm sure they'll put them back in once they've solved the problem.

Animal crossing stopped this time jump to get items early by making it so you had to have the Synchronise Clock via Internet on during that date to have the items, meaning if you had it turned off and jumped to that date you couldn't get event items early. Also, I'm sure there is more of a hack on PC user side than date change for anyone. Dead by Daylight has had bad hacking issues in the past, which they stopped by using software, however people still found away around their ban. and Hackers still find their way around it. Activision hopefully finds away to stop the hackers, but it might take a bit as sometimes people are buying hacking software to hack the games, like the case with Dead by Daylight.

So even if you play Ripto or the explosive mines in private matches only, you may get permanently barred from accessing the game you PAID for. Edit 2: According to someone who did record gameplay of Ripto, the "exploit" only works in Competitive, and Ripto (and the mines) get re-locked until the event actually happens, which means there is LITERALLY NO POINT in reporting these players unless you're a petty loser (and from the footage shown, Ripto kinda sucks so I hope they buff him before release). And one more thing: This seems to only work for Playstation because there is no way to change the date on Xbox (and even if you managed to change it, once you connect the console to the internet it automatically updates itself to be the correct date anyway). It only works in public matches and locks again once you leave (you can't just unlock it again, at least until the event actually starts).

because nobody had explained as well as you did, lot of people got frustrated and not understand how to unlock them, even it's very simple.
So The Kos and assists add up ? for ex if i take 25 kos and 25 assists will it be 50? or reach 50 seprated ?

I play Crash Team Rumble a lot, and I wouldn’t dream of doing something like this. Ruining the game for others is the last thing I’d wanna do.
I saw this on the rumble discord server but thought it was a tease from the devs, i was dead wrong.
You could get the later events just by moving the clocks forward? That feels like an absurdly simple exploit, they should have seen that one coming.
We knew about it back in Season 1, but no one used it for Ripper Roo or N. Gin (they only used it to get cosmetics)

I came across a Coco player who had the mines and I was baffled by this and I never thought of reporting the player now I wish I did

This game looks like a mess, they could’ve remade Crash Bash but they wouldn’t be able monetize it as much as whatever this game is.
