- In this video, I test out a cheap amazon wood chipper. It seems like a solid wood chipper for the price. Although it does get held up on larger branches. I think we will still get plenty of use out of this machine.

I guess I don’t understand why you just throw those big branches in there like that when you know it’s going to stall. Why not feed the big stuff slowly? Great video, I’m impressed at what it handled

I'm just looking for something to chip up rotten branches for my garden and dead branches that fall out of the trees around my house every time the wind blows. Looks like it will do what I need. Looking forward to building up my garden soil and mulching around all my plants.

Just a note, a green or not yet dried tree will always be much harder to chip.

I have the same one too. My question is what happens if you put a branch to big in it, will the wheel blow up inside cus the thing doesn’t stop running it just inhales what you put in it. Reminds me of a dog pulling you on a leash
@@jonnysnipes3123 The cutting wheel of the wood chipper won’t blow up or anything like that. It will only stop if the branches are too big. The only way to prevent it from stopping is to feed the tree branch and brush material in the feed housing of the wood chipper slowly and gently until the whole thing gets through easily.
The wood chipper I have right now is a Landworks 3” chipper with a 7 horsepower Alphaworks gas engine. I’ve had that wood chipper since Christmas 2021. I love it a lot. I’ve had some tree jobs in the past and last year.
What if you took the bucket of mulch and dumped back into the hopper to get a finer mulch?
And I’m looking for after my garden season is done, run my tomato plants, pepper plants that type of chipping, you think it would be to wet and gum up machine?? Your thoughts??
I use an electric sun Joe! Works great for garden and small material. I ran corn and sunflowers through it for the chickens n turkeys while green. I had to break the corn in smaller sections as it was bigger then 2 inches allowed but amazing little toys.
Will it eat bamboo??

Hey Allen, 10 months still going strong. I have probably used it about a dozen times. My only recommendation is opening it up and making sure all the bolts on the inside are tight before each use. The bolts on the inside will loosen up over time and can cause some serious damage to the head or shaft if they fall out. I open it up every time to make sure everything is tight. It’s a bit of a pain but I think it’s worth it. I read some reviews online that people ruined the head and had to replace the shaft.

I build a trailer tongue or build a lift on the the chipper get a large cardboard box to fit inside your trailer and then back the trailer to the lifted chipper and chipinto the trailer

They changed this model to a side cutter did away with the barrel cutter. The barrel cutter was too easy to bend the engine crank. Mine works great for the price. You have to keep in mind these are light duty chippers so use accordingly with common sense.
which model did you get? I am looking to get one, looking at this model GUO035 from Lowes. Also are you able to chip leaf? Thanks
Seems like a little common sense would be not to just "throw" in those larger/longer pieces that you know are going to kill it. A little judicious manual feeding with a short pause to let the rpms come back would probably help out that machine tremendously.
Agreed, but those longer limbs were within the 3 inch diameter specified that the machine can handle. I was testing to see if they could handle it, but yes backing of the branch of and letting the engine rev back up works well. I should have demonstrated that in the video.
It seems like there's 3 kinds of SuperHandy 3" chippers on there making things confusing. One like this, another with the inlet chute and discharge chute at like 90° angle (different drum design), and lastly one with separate shredder and chipper chutes. Seems like every competitor is moving to the last one but I don't know the advantages of the different configs.
Here is a link to the chipper that I reviewed (less pitched chute): amzn.to/2X4AAIB I’d probably go for the one with the higher pitched chute because I can’t direct the wood chips in the back of my pull behind trailer for my lawn mower. I actually have to direct the wood chips into a bucket and then dump into the trailer. This is showcased in the video. So I would probably recommend this one: amzn.to/3hd4tO8
@@thegarveys thanks, see what I mean though? The one you reviewed it ssems like more of a straight shot through the drum whereas the second kind the wood enters the drum from the broad flat side of the chipper housing and then kind of makes a 90° to get to the discharge chute. Then there's a 3rd version with a separate top down wide shredder inlet and a narrow branch inlet on the side. They all seem to be made by the same company (starts with 'I' but I forget) and 212cc Rato engine but I wish they would just put a conspicuous model number on each so I could tell what's newer/older/different. Thanks again.
@@Gideon_Judges6 They're three different models. Firstly the regular chipper and then the 'mini' which is more expense but compact and finally the model which mulches thru the wide top inlet. It may handle leaves. This is the same product as the Landworks so just go with whichever is cheaper. I think that if mulching leaves is important to you, the Champion brand is definitely worth a look and where I am leaning. Being able to easily clear blockages that jam the fly wheel is important. Here again the Champion is a winner, plus the 100% chipper only beast Yardmax.
@@bennywalsh2038 thanks. I had ordered one that was supposed to be delivered about a month ago. It got delayed so long that I had to cancel it and now my backup choice is also backordered. Supply chain is shot.
Yeah your a good man id complain my ass off for them dents or at least get them to fund you 100 back. Hell i was pissed mine didn't come with a bottle of oil like wtf pay over 600 an cant even give us alil oil.
I have the same one it’s dangerous as fck because it just sucks anything in so make sure your arm isn’t hooked but it’s awesome machine
even threw a 4 incher in there!
It seems too small for these branches
I mean I cleared that entire tree that fell, so it’s capable. I’m not saying it’s the best wood chipper, but it’s decent for the price.
i think the next step up as far as power goes you're looking at a double the price.

😂😂 The chute is pretty long and the opening to the shredder is pretty small, so it’s pretty safe. I made sure I cut the engine on that shot I had to stick my arm in there and dislodge that branch 😬

Well, you get what you pay for. Some regular folks can't afford $2 - 5,000 dollar machines for a little house work.
It's, NOT COMMERCIAL, so abuse it and get the same results.
