- We're gearing up for our next motorcycle adventure, and since we're traveling the length of Japan from North to South, we decided to stick with Japanese brands for our gear. Japan is the Mecca of motorcycles, and they definitely know their stuff when it comes to building bikes, but do they really know about safety gear?

Thanks for the great day! Love you guys!
Love you too, man! Looking forward to seeing you soon✌🏽
Arai helmets are my favorite. Not only are they very protective, but they offer different shaped helmets for different shapes of heads.
No integrated sun visor. A no go for somebody wearing glasses.
I have a BMW/Kushitani mesh/leather jacket, kinda similar to Rev'it Ignition jacket. Leather on impact areas, mesh on the rest. BMW provides their level2 armor. The quality is top notch. I had to buy the back protector as an extra. Armor coverage is extensive. The kicker is it looks very good, something I can never say about Klim gear. That Kushitani store is like walking into a candy store.
Kushitani products are good, and I use them often.
I like the functionality and the calm design.
they have so much cool stuff over there, also a very beautifull store clean and helpfull staff, looks great!
I think ventilated gloves are more important than a ventilated jacket. Adventure jackets always have the option of opening the vents, which is not the case with gloves. I'm in Brazil, and on the road I only wear adventure gear (Revid) because they are safer than the ventilated ones that I leave for hot days in the city. Light colors help you be more visible. If you didn't buy a jacket with an airbag, I recommend wearing a vest with an airbag over the jacket. I prefer Shoei to Arai because of the quick-release buckle.
Nice video. Nice to discover Japan with you guys. With Arai, you will not be disappointed. Their helmets are so confortable, wear them for years ! But most funny thing with this video Is that I get confirmation of the good prononciation for Shoei ! Here in France, no one pronounce it correctly, but I was 😅
I can't wait for you guys hit the route! I will be doing a trip to Japan next year, hopefully renting a motorcycle and traveling, I need this!!! Congratulations for obtaining the license upgrade!
Thanks!!
You’re going to love riding in Japan. If you have any questions regarding routes or where to rent a motorbike just let us know 👌🏽
The Vespa is Rei’s ‘go to’. I love it 👍
Can you let us know, How did a Colombian ended up in Japan, and how long, since you speak japanese.
Also, can you let us know, if anyone can go to japan with there own motor bike ?
Would like to see more of the motor bike sceen from japan, museums, , and more...
Subscribed !
Kushitani! That brings back good memories of Fast Freddie Spencer and MotoGP! Great stuff.
So cool, guys! Cannot wait to see your bikes. I also chose myself a similar riding gear concept as yours, which is waterproof adv trousers with some "quick open/close" air vents and "half mesh" jacket. So when it starts raining, I just have to put on my rain jacket quickly.
Good choice! 🙌🏽
No wonder you thanked Rei, he hooked you up good! The quality looks up there with Astars, Dainese etc My next purchase I will fly to Japan and purchase a dope Kushitani 2 piece leather suit!
Please do! They’re specially good with their leather suits 👌🏽
great store, enjoy and stay safe guy's
I love Japan and Japanese Products! Greetings from Germany
i love M1000RR! greetings from Japan,lol
@@UkiwachanJP 👍👍👍looking forward to discover the motorbiking heart of Japan via your YT Channel!
Great video. On the fence between Arai and Shoei!!! Thinking of a modular style. Just subscribed from Los Angeles!!!
Welcome aboard! 🙌🏽
The best gear brand... Arai + Kushitani = perfect
Judging by the helmets i'd guess the new bikes are a KTM & BMW. Arai are possibly the best helmets, though I've always struggled to find one that fits my head, plus they never do a drop down sun visor in any of their helmets, which for me is a must have option. I know they interfere with ventilation, but it's a lot easier than swapping visors, so I tend to by Shoei or Shark.
Could be BMW, but, those are Africa Twin colours too and they are in Japan after all.
I have been using the same helmet for 4 months now and it's by far my favorite helmet ever. The balance and venting is perfect. The visor is illegal on the highway though in case they didn't tell you in the store! The visor is kind-of annoying to take on and off all the time so mine has been exiled to the closet.
Thanks for the info! I wasn’t aware of that 👌🏽
before settling on one of the 2 brands, see which one you feel best in. arai and Shoei
Personally I had Shoei and Arai, both make very good products, the Arai is a little more comfortable if adapted to your head and the finishes are still a notch above but for me the Q/P ratio is more on the Shoei side.
Today I have a Shoei NXR, which for me is in its niche the best value for money and an Arai RX7 which is a bit of a whim, it's a real cocoon, but is it worth its full price... not sure.
I found your channel a week ago! & I've been in awe with the adventures!! Currently binging the Columbian travel vlogs! Love them ❤❤
Thanks for watching! 🙌🏽💓 Glad you like them!
As a small Asian male I really like Kushitani which would make gear in my size, as well as the in-the-shop alternation and repairs/maintainence they can perform for some of their items so they don't just make you throw away items and buy new ones. They are also very fashionable while maintaining a very high degree of utility. I have a pair of their summer mesh pants, a pair of armored winter gloves and a waist bag from Kushitani, the materials are high quality and are holding up to the abuse, so I'm looking at adding a jacket to my collection in the future. The main gripe I have is that their insert armour pieces for their textile garmounts aren't the best only rated at CE Level 1 so you have to find other alternatives to use in them, which sometimes requires a bit of modification to work. I plan to get around that by wearing an armor shirt from Knox which I already have.
I think that their leather is really where Kushitani's quality is. The other gear from Kushitani is nice, but the pricing is pretty tough to get over when you compare with other brands like Revit. Especially with lighter materials. Kushitani does have some really good deals when they have the end of season sales to look out for.
@@pb6839 problem is sizing. Being a small Asian dudes I have better fittings with the local brands like Kishitani, Komine and Taichi than the Euro brands. The other is that some Kushitani shops are ran as a franchise so the shop owners really go out of their way to serve you and make sure you are satisfied before and after the sale, I considered the extra service worth the money.
Also can get good bargains with Kushitani lucky bags sold at new years.
Woowww love everything!
i'm guessing new bikes will be some dual sport like vstrom 650 :) Love Kaito's pure joy reaction!
Would have loved to hear about the material and safety features of the gear rather than colors. Certainly, Kushitani and Arai are top-of-the line products but especially for textile gear, I see now benefit or reason why I should buy Kushitani. I´d be paying for the name and I guess these textile suits are not made in Japan, like all the other textile suits around the world. Mostly, they are made somewhere in Asia. As for helmets I prefer Shoei, since an integrated sun visor is a KO criteria for me. Arai decided against those for weight reasons, as far as I know. Anyway, have a good and enjoyable trip to Hokkaido. Been there twice by motorcycle and it´s gorgeous! Ride safe!
It's good information that you mentioned the different helmet shapes for the Asian and Western markets. Shoei also makes different internal shapes for different regions. Unfortunately, This is what keeps me from buying helmets when I travel to Japan :(
By the color of your helmets I'm guessing Ori's new bike is a Honda Africa Twin or Transalp, and Kaito's a KTM 890 adventure.
So kool the store is in English 🎉
I want to move there.ive always wanted to visit Japan. Visit the honda museum .enjoy the culture of what looks like the best country in the world
"adventure" gear in Summer in Japan is very very very hot... and sticky... and did I mention hot ;-) mesh for the win. I'd suggest close fitting body armor type that is also mesh, then you can layer on top for rain and/or cold. I ride in mountains of Japan all year round and it's the perfect setup. Just like for hiking or outdoor sports - layering for the win. A big bulky good looking adventure set is hot, inconvenient, and more importantly the protection is too loose and likely won't do the job in a high speed crash... just my 2c.
kushitani is my suit back 22 years ago when i was still racing...not much ppl hear about this brand in north america,,,kushitani and nankai I used them both back then
I love Arai.❤❤ congratulations !!!
Thanks!!😊
the biggest question is? do they have jackets big enough, for us BIG guys. XXL or bigger
Yeah I will need the “Sumo Sizing” 😢
@@TheExodusV I wear XXL for their size, meanwhile in Aus I buy L for my jacket. So yeah........Japs r some small ppl
I wear their gloves and I need 2X or 3X in their sizing system, vs L or XL in American sizing. Very nice leather products!
@@MrOrangeVest thanks 🙏
Their customer service was top-notch!👌
Looking great, Fam!
Thank you! ✌🏽
orange helmet giving KTM vibes
nice video. where I live, in Italy, the best clothing brands are Dainese and Alpinestars while for helmets AGV, Nolan and Alpinestars
nice video. where I live, in Italy, the best clothing brands are Dainese and Alpinestars while for helmets AGV, Nolan and Alpinestars
Those are not adventure clothes. The most popular are Scott, Klim, Revit...
Kushitani, rs taichi, hyod..etc. all those brand r pretty good in jp, or 56 design if u r toward to more younger generation and komine if u r on budget
Helmet is almost half price compare to NA, for shoei and arai, plus some of the color only available in jp
I go to Japan every year to update my gears and helmet
Unfortunately no, if u r XL or XXL in NA, u can pretty much forget about it
If you r buying Alpinestar , revit or Dianese euro brand gears, the price isn’t much different, or even pricier sometimes
What brand is NA? can't find it
Is Kushitani even available in the US anymore? I have a perferated leather jacket thats over 20 years old, still use it all the time! The sizing is tricky though; its XXXL and about equivalent to a US 46
hi love your video guys. may I ask how did you order the arai helmet matt black with orange color , wanted to have one , from PH. thank you.
I have 2 helmet bags from that brand. No one seems to sell them anymore.
Sabia que era Colombiana con el acento! Yo me crie en Cartagena! I just got done solo bicycle touring Hokkaido (900km, 3 weeks) camping out almost every night (vids on my channel). It was hot and rainy near the south but cooler and cloudy near Wakkanai. I wouldn't overthink it too much. I saw hundreds of motorcycle touring guys and they all dressed EXTREMELEY fashionable with the highest end gear, down to their motorcycles, tents and camping gear, they really have good taste compared to the US lol. I just used a merino wool t-shirt with sun sleeves, some shorts and a rain jacket while riding. At night I just had some long cotton pants and long sleeve merino shirt, but yeah, I was pedaling and sweating A LOT lol.
Hola 🇨🇴
Last year we spent 2 months riding in Hokkaido and met so many cyclist from around the world!
Are you planning to bike somewhere else in Japan?
@@oriandkaito-motoadventures Hopefully yes, I've been wanting to move there for many years, but for now it's back to work :(
white/light colors for the adventures ... - it will be always super dirty and will have to go to thrashbin soon - not practical at all - but beautiful on the exhibition ;-)
You have a good point there 👌🏽
Bravissimi e simpaticissimi
The helmet reveal was cute
I prefer full mesh with an electric liner.
A candy store of things I need but can't afford.
Lovely. Please Stay Safe Lot of Typhoon going on in Japan 🇯🇵.
I want To see you soon In My Country India 🇮🇳 In Himalayas.
India is Not that far from Japan 😊
They would choose Royal Enfield.
Thanks!! You never know… we might end up riding our bikes in India 🇮🇳✌🏽
Was jaren geleden het kledingmerk van motoport, maar ja als het om geld ga in plaats van kwaliteit dan staat motoport voorop!
Wait. So you did not try on the helmets before? Glad they fit nonetheless. I tried on some arais in the shop but unfortunately they are just not shaped right for my head. I will probably forever be stuck with HJC.
I think a honda adventure bike
is the gear cheaper in cost versus US prices?
That gear looks good, but I think like most Japanese made stuff, no abrasion protection, the material will probably disintegrate in contact with the road, let's hope you don't need to test it.
Well I am another guy watching your videos from a distance. It is Bulgaria, town of Sofia-the capital. You seem very cute and I am thinking uou will not get a 1000cc bikes. It is more like 650 for Ori and about 800 for Kaito? We shall see. Good luck guys!
For Japan, large CC bikes are really not necessary. Speed limits are low.
@@2Cranks1bike yes I think Japan has it's own rules...
Thanks for watching! 🙌🏽🇧🇬
The real question is HOW are yo going to ride JApan? If yo REALLY want to see the “real JApan YOU MUST avoid the highway as much as possible. Local roads are the way to go. As. Rider and someone who’s lived here more than 20 years I have a bit of experience in that :) Also when are yo starting? Here is a thought MotoGP is at Motegi in Tochigi OCtober 4-6 yo should try and GO. I’ll be there.
Where is this in Yokohama? Im in Tokyo 😊i definitely need to go there.
You definitely should ✌🏽 this is where the shop’s located: maps.app.goo.gl/a1chBMFQbUWGozmNA?g_st=com.google.maps.preview.copy

Por que no puso los precios?
Estoy muy triste!!😢
No, solo intrigado
Lo tendremos en cuenta para un próximo video 👌🏽
Bought helmets without trying them first?
I'll be getting used helmet and gear again. Don't have thousands to spend.
As long as you pick something that will protect you, you’re good to go 👌🏽
Safe riding!
[ Like ] ...a lot. :)
The reason why you buy Arai helmets is one of the most stupid reasons I have heard. Yes Arai usually make very good helmets, no doubt about that. But the most important is perfect fit. And if you want really safe helmet, you should check out the SHARP helmet rating.
A new helmet should press evenly all over, be so tight that it actually a little unpleasant, but not so tight that it hurts
Damnnn these people cant handle comments 😂😂😂
BMW GS 1300
You guys acting like you are first time opening the box when in fact you probably already tried it (how can you not) on and maybe even received Arai's EPS adjustment service.
Maybe you are matrixed by all the american’s videos you looked.
They are passionate and you can just enjoy the content and put a smile on your face while not questioning their intention.
yeah a different type of skull.. like mine and there is no fuckin helmet for me to buy that can fit in my head... its sad
Some Shoei retailers have the option to measure your head and then change the inner lining to the specific ones for your head shape. I don't know if other brands have a similar option.
@@wallacemjr brother i dont know where u are from but here in brazil shoei is very expensive.... for u to have an idea some good helmets from shoei is the price a 150cc motorcycle.... no joking
@@kobayashimassaharo9992 比較的リーズナブルな日本製品だと、カブトかWINSが良いです。
