Christ sees you and He advocates on your behalf before the throne of the Almighty. Pray for the spirit of His strength.
      Psalm 34:17-18
When the righteous cry for help, the LORD hears and delivers them out of all their troubles.

I have always struggled with this especially the part about God allowing the devil to make Jobs life unbearable to prove a point. I prayed to get a better understanding of this for years then it finally came to me. The story is about God's faith in us. He was willing to put everything on the line because God knew Job's heart. He knows each of our hearts, what we can withstand and deep down our inert nature is good.
Sometimes in this big world filled with Hollywood put on a pedestal, it's easy to feel small and insignificant. The story of job say we are important to God and he has faith in us. It also shows that suffering has rewards when we suffer for God's glory.

I had this realization too and I am not even in my 30s 😂😂😂 I related to Job's story only that I did not even have the chance to be wealthy like him. It just bad cards all around. And also unlike Job, I learned to curse God lol but that didnt really last long bc I have natural relationship with God! Its what kept me going no matter what happened in my life I just know this is all happening for a reason. My own unique path taught me that I don't need God, that external image of him anyways. My 30 year-long drought was teaching me to trust myself because God is within me. ❤
Btw, I appreciate your mind. I hope I get surrounded with the breadth and depth of wisdom like you. I hope you have solid faith in yourself and whats in your heart now. ❤

If god is this sadistic then I don’t want to believe in him and then I don’t want his tests. It’s sickening to see that people approve everything from god. Cause god knows everything so he wouldn’t have to test him in the fist place and second why is god talking to satan as if they are long time friends? Saying who shall we destroy now? And then he lost his children and god gave him wealth eventually but I rather be poor and have my children then rich and not. Jobs story is nothing but evidence of a mean and narcissistic god

And you have to ask: What the heck were they (Job's children) doing "celebrating" _in the middle of the day_ anyway? It sounds like it was regular work day if you listen to the narrative. And then you also have to ask: _Why hadn't they invited_ Job to their little shindig? So, yeah, I doubt they were "innocent." Maybe they relied on Job's good name and his wealth ... just like the wealthy kids today ..?

I believe people miss a third plot ... The effect long term on the people around him :. His wife, the 4 friends, etc. They were affected too. After the events, their perspectives would be changed as God chastised them for being wrong.
Not to mention the surviving servants and anyone else not mentioned who were impacted by Job, which from the first couple chapters alone seems like quite a lot of people.
A reminder that our suffering is sometimes not only for us, but also to affect change in those around us

God says *"For Job, this was a true experience that washed his soul clean, it was a baptism of life that fulfilled his existence, and, what’s more, it was a sumptuous feast that tested his obedience to, and fear of God. This temptation transformed Job’s standing from that of a rich man to someone who had nothing, and it also allowed him to experience Satan’s abuse of mankind. His destitution did not cause him to loathe Satan; rather, in Satan’s vile acts he saw Satan’s ugliness and contemptibility, as well as Satan’s enmity and rebellion toward God, and this better encouraged him to forever hold firm to the way of fearing God and shunning evil. He swore that he would never forsake God and turn his back on the way of God because of external factors such as property, children or kinfolk, nor would he ever be a slave to Satan, property, or any person; apart from Jehovah God, no one could be his Lord, or his God. Such were the aspirations of Job. On the other face of the temptation, Job had also acquired something: He had gained great riches amid the trials given unto him by God."*

What I love about Job is that there are parallels to Christ. It tells is about suffering, feeling of abandonment, persecution by those you once loved you, perseverance., trust, belief and true love. I think it's interesting how he talks about death and his frustration with God. I'm sure we have all been there ourselves. It definately brings out humbleness and humility. There is always a bigger picture and a good reason for what he does. We suffer for several reasons actually. We must share in the suffering in Christ as our goal is to be Christ-like. Also because it can test your true love for God. It's also prepares us for the Greatv Commision that we are all commanded to do. We all suffer in different ways because people suffer in different ways. How can you minister to someone when your clueless about their pain and suffering. That is like a man trying to minister to a rape victim. If God has called you, then you have a spiritual purpose that requires experience and what better experience is there than going through it yourself. So think of it like training and preparation to go into battle. Finally, if you cannot handle the little stuff than how are you going to handle the big stuff like judging the world and the angels? You would not make a good judge if everything in your life was roses. Have you ever noticed that God always calls on really broken people to do His work. Most of them have a PhD in the hard knock life. If you can identify with Job like I can, then G9d has you watching this for a reason and I encourage you to read Job's story for yourself in the Bible. God bless all you brothers & sisters. A Good man's steps are numbered by God (Ps.37:23).

Im confused how this story is supposed to be a positive thing. I see alot of problems in this story. God basically makes a bet with satan to torture Job & allows it, yet gets praised? For what? They killed and took everything from him, why the praise? Then when Job questions God, he basically tells Job he is too ignorant to understand. Again, Gods fault for not making him smarter, so why the praise? God permits a man to suffer without even giving him an explanation. This whole story is absurd and makes God look like an abusive asshole. Seriously whats the moral of the story? And then we sit here and say God is all good? HOW? He tortured and killed people……THATS NOT ALL GOOD, that’s EVIL

@@roberthermens904 Except that unlike you, Job believed in Heaven and always educated his children in the ways of God. If God allowed the Devil to touch their lives, it is certainly because of what God was going to harvest their souls in the place of Rest. Job was a believer, it turned out that the word is only a transition and not the end of everything, so he knew that these children went to a place where they would not want to come back to Earth for anything in the world. . Job is therefore at peace because he knows that they are in a place where they are henceforth sheltered from the pains of the world and where he will join them. And all together will be in the Glory of God while waiting to receive their glorified bodies. Besides, I wonder if Job and his people were not removing people from the Old Testament who were resurrected and went up with Christ to paradise. You as an ordinary human have a limited vision of death, which is not the case with Job and Christians in general who know what are really the stakes of life on Earth and that death does not. is just a transition (namely the human who leaves his carnal envelope and goes into eternity). Considering his differences in knowledge and beliefs (between you and Job) about what death is to the believer, it is therefore obvious that you will have a fairly limited view of the story.

God doesn't test us or allow Satan to torment us for fun. God has put spiritual laws in place that govern what we encounter in life. Satan is only allowed to torment us if we come into agreement with him. Job 3 :25 tells us that Job invited Satan in through his agreement with a spirit of fear, keep in mind, "For God does not give us a spirit of fear..." Instead of "greatly fearing" what could happen he should have shut down those thoughts and trusted God.

I lost my little boy in a farm accident and now I'm being sued for a wrongful death by his mother. I continuously come back to Job as I have lost everything and doint know why but my faith still holds strong in the Lord. I read this poem at his celebration of life:
    God’s Lent Child
    by Author Unknown
I’ll lend you for a little while,
a child of mine, God said
For you to love the while he lives
and mourn for when he’s dead.
It may be six or seven years,
    or forty-two or three
But will you, till I call him back,
take care of him for me?
He’ll bring his charms to gladden you
and should his stay be brief
    You’ll always have his memories
as a solace in your grief.
I cannot promise he will stay,
    since all from earth return,
But there are lessons taught below
I want this child to learn.
I’ve looked this whole world over
in my search for teachers true
And from the folk that crowd Life’s lane
    I have chosen you.
Now will you give him all your love
and not think the labour vain,
Nor hate me when I come to take
    this lent child back again?
I fancy that I heard them say
“Dear God, thy will be done.
For all the joys this child will bring
the risk of grief we’ll run.
We will shelter him with tenderness,
we’ll love him while we may
And for all the happiness we’ve ever known,
    we’ll ever grateful stay.
But should the angels call him
    much sooner than we’d planned
We will brave the bitter grief that comes
    and try to understand.”

I always find the Book of Job interesting because, it is the oldest book in the Old Testament. To me it seems as though it’s telling us the story of what humanity is going to face. Suffering for a seemingly unnecessary reason. But, God will remain with believers no matter what happens, we must not lose faith, as suffering is not negative even when we don’t understand why it’s happening.
Personally, I don’t think Job was a real character, it seems to me it is an old parable. You see, the Old Testament Hebrew people were fascinated by genealogy, and Job has no family history listed at all.
Subsequently, it’s almost as though God was giving us the low down on what we can expect in life. The message being, hold on and I will always be with you! 🙏🙏🙏

Wow that poem really hit home for me..I'm not married, nor have any children but I owned a rescued dog. I named her dolly not knowing it meant a gift from God. She has passed on but this poem really bad an impact on me even though it was a dog. Living alone, this was my child I loved so deeply and still mourn for her loss. This dog was returned To the shelter twice by irresponsible owners. God placed her in my life to show her as well as for myself what it felt like to be loved and not abandoned. Just as God loves us and will never forsake us.

A story of a god who allows a good person to lose everything they’ve earned and love, leaving them with nothing and then added physical pain and disfigurement, only to gaslight them with “did you create everything? No you didn’t, so don’t question me biach”.
With a god like that, who needs a devil lol.

Where is Job's wife in all this ?
Wasn't she with him all the time, cleaning him, feeding him and supporting him ?
Satan was given authority to take everything from Job except his...wife !!!. Why !!?. Because it would be impossible to Job to stand without his wife 😀
That's why from the two different translations about his wife position (cursing/blessing), Job's wife was rather suggesting to Job to bless God instead of curse God.

I am considered a "targeted individual". When the book of Job says that all of Jobs family was killed, I think that means that all of Job's family was possessed by the devil just like his wife. So it wasn't a physical death, but a spiritual death. The "whirlwind" that knocked down "the house" was the spirit of the devil. And "the house" was their physical bodies. (Jesus said that the winds beat against the house..Matthew 7:25)

I wonder if there are other people throughout history that had a similar experience. Getting book of Jobed is longsuffering like you wouldn't believe. I don't mind, this war against Satan is serious. Siding with God no matter what is a glorious victory. Glory, for the King of glory! Psalms 24 8 Who is this King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty, the LORD mighty in battle.
    2 Samuel 22
34 He teacheth my hands to war, so that a bow of steel is broken by mine arms.
35 Thou hast also given me the shield of thy salvation: and thy right hand hath holden me up, and thy gentleness hath made me great.
36 Thou hast enlarged my steps under me, that my feet did not slip.
37 I have pursued mine enemies, and overtaken them: neither did I turn again till they were consumed.
38 I have wounded them that they were not able to rise: they are fallen under my feet.
39 For thou hast girded me with strength unto the battle: thou hast subdued under me those that rose up against me.
40 Thou hast also given me the necks of mine enemies; that I might destroy them that hate me.
41 They cried, but there was none to save them: even unto the Lord, but he answered them not.
42 Then did I beat them small as the dust before the wind: I did cast them out as the dirt in the streets.
43 Thou hast delivered me from the strivings of the people; and thou hast made me the head of the heathen: a people whom I have not known shall serve me.
44 As soon as they hear of me, they shall obey me: the strangers shall submit themselves unto me.
45 The strangers shall fade away, and be afraid out of their close places.
46 The Lord liveth; and blessed be my rock; and let the God of my salvation be exalted.
47 It is God that avengeth me, and subdueth the people under me.
48 He delivereth me from mine enemies: yea, thou liftest me up above those that rise up against me: thou hast delivered me from the violent man.
49 Therefore will I give thanks unto thee, O Lord, among the heathen, and sing praises unto thy name.
50 Great deliverance giveth he to his king; and sheweth mercy to his anointed, to David, and to his seed for evermore.
    1 Timothy 1:9
9 Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers,
    Psalms 7
8 The Lord shall judge the people: judge me, O Lord, according to my righteousness, and according to mine integrity that is in me.
9 Oh let the wickedness of the wicked come to an end; but establish the just: for the righteous God trieth the hearts and reins.
10 My defence is of God, which saveth the upright in heart.
11 God judgeth the righteous, and God is angry with the wicked every day.
12 If he turn not, he will whet his sword; he hath bent his bow, and made it ready.
13 He hath also prepared for him the instruments of death; he ordaineth his arrows against the persecutors.
14 Behold, he travaileth with iniquity, and hath conceived mischief, and brought forth falsehood.
15 He made a pit, and digged it, and is fallen into the ditch which he made.
16 His mischief shall return upon his own head, and his violent dealing shall come down upon his own pate.
17 I will praise the Lord according to his righteousness: and will sing praise to the name of the Lord most high.
    Job 5
20 In famine he shall redeem thee from death: and in war from the power of the sword.
    Matthew 13
    38 The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one;
39 The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are the angels.
40 As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this world.
    Matthew 10
34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.

It's quite riveting to see how some experts think they can interpret the unknown just like things they can see and touch.
The tragic events that Job has gone through aren't the products of human imagination, they did happen in real time.
Do you know how they've come to be?
It's really easy to just sit down comfortably and assume things, but I don't think if you were to be provided with just a tiny bit of what that man has gone through, you would have had time to pontificate over stuffs you have no clue about.
You look at some pictures, you see what?
Cats walking around, good. After awhile, what do you see?
You don't see where they go, and what has become of them. Do you?
Before you see those cats, what have you seen?
Nothing, I assume. Where those cats come from, in your opinions?
    Out of nowhere?
If out of nowhere they emerge, how is that normal?
And when they appear out of nowhere, and they just disappear out of view, how is it that normal?
And you think you have the power to decipher nonsense like this technologically?
When you don't see those cats, do you know what they're up to?
When you see natural cats, I wonder, if you ever witness them disappear?
If you think persecution is a joke, then good for you. I don't think Job has been handed a bouquet of flowers 🌸 when he's been manhandled the way he did. You really think it's any different today?
Unless you think God has modernized himself to fit the current trend in what some called the legalism, if not, I don't think anything has changed at all.
You probably have the luxury to be perfectly fine, but I've seen people of faith who have gone through hell and worse, just like Job.
In my own family, we've spent days, weeks, months, and years in prayer to chase away evil spirits, and wait for cure for illnesses that doctors couldn't detect. And not just us, I've come across countless others who have had the very same problems, and through prayers, they've been solved.
I say this just to clear the air to some who just assume things naturally and think their assumptions are impeccably fantastic. If you believe Job would have made safe and sound out of what he's gone through without the help of God, you must be stupidly crazy. The only one that could have prevented the brush of fire by which Job's sons, daughters and companies have been consumed would have been God.
I don't wish harm on anyone, but persecution does not restrict itself to folks from the countryside.
They don't attack anyone from the countryside, but they do attack those who seek to please God.
If looking to observe the principles set forth by God for us to follow is wrong, then, yeah, stigmatize me with this, and I am more than happy to carry this as a badge of honor.
Not just for myself, but to the like-minded as well.
This beautiful princess isn't a lady just like any other ones. She's suffering just like myself, and the only difference is that I know where my sufferings are stemming from, and she doesn't.
Not just her, but my entire family.
It gets on my nerves a lot to be honest with you, but God decides things, not us.

My personal view is, the story of Job is there to explain the differrence between being righteous, and becoming self righteous. Yes, Job was righteous, but he became self righteous. In the end the only one who truly understood God was a young boy, who had yet to be corrupted by man. In the end, God does exactly what God wants. He is God. He can even be incited by Satan. Why? Because he is God.

What if the Lord wasn't saying that Job's present walk was perfect and without blame, when we read of what the Lord said in Job 1:8? What if it was more about God's plan for his life, one that has been determined by his will, one that he is serious about bringing to pass again, a purpose and plan for Job's life that he will not ever allow to be altered or changed? What if the Lord's perspective that we read about in Job 1:8 is about how he views the promised land?
    Deut 11:12
A land which the Lord thy God careth for: the eyes of the Lord thy God are always upon it, from the beginning of the year even unto the end of the year.
Who can fault a loving God for having such a view of our lives and our eternity with him? Who can fault a loving, powerful, wise God who will care for his plan for us, all the way to eternity with him, one who will never compromise on his perfect plan, ever, one who would apparently spare no expense to see it come to pass, no matter what we do or fall into?
May we never forget that his ways are far above our ways, and that life is full of tests. Does he even set traps for the sinner to fall into? It seems to be so. Does God ever laugh? Yes he does. Do you ever laugh at the foolishness of the ignorant? Isn't that what comedy is about?
Yet, this is a tragedy! How could you possibly suggest it's some kind of comedy? Well this book of Job is so rich. It seems to have just about everything in it.
Yet, when I read Job 1:8, even though I see nothing said by the Lord concerning Job's present walk, one way or the other by what he alluded to when he mentions Job's name, what he also says by turning what Job has into Satan's hand speaks loudly that there was something about Job that needed correction.
So did God turn what Job had over to Satan's hand to test Satan's bold claim, or did he do it for completely different reasons? Does he who knows all things, need to test Satan's bold and baseless claim? God knew it was a lie, didn't he? Sure he did. Maybe, just maybe, God turned over what Job had to Satan's hand for other reasons, reasons that perhaps only he knew about, reasons that fit perfectly his eternal and perfect plan for Job's life, one that God would not compromise on at all, not in the tiniest little bit, ever, a plan so important to him, that he would seemingly spare no expense in bringing it to pass.
Yes, a walk with the Lord can be very expensive. Many say it will cost you everything.

In the book of job, our creator god the Father and God the son, our Lord Jesus Christ talked to Satan. Meaning God the Father and God the son know Satan. Fast forward to the end of times, our God the Father will shout to the evil doers when they say Lord Lord we preached you, I never knew you, you evil doers!!! You will all go to hell!!! All these comparisons, according only to what is written in the most holy book..no more, no less. There is only one ending idea. That Satan or archangel Lucifer or Satan is also a most loyal servant of our creator god the father and God the son. emiliano.

Lies. He did not ask him about a hippo. GOD is talking about his greatest largest creations. Behemoth has a tail like a cedar and van swallow up the jordan and one gulp. If u can even assume he is talking about some minor animals we can see today your foolish. I've seen a man approach the animals u mentioned.
He moveth his tail like a cedar: the sinews of his stones are wrapped together.
18 His bones are as strong pieces of brass; his bones are like bars of iron.
19 He is the chief of the ways of God: he that made him can make his sword to approach unto him....that's not u. GOD can approach him but u couldn't.

This analysis isn't as good as most on TH-cam.. it sort of misses the point... The major sin of Job was he used a moralistic viewpoint (moralism) to justify why he shouldn't be punished. He didn't sin with his lips as the book says...but he did with his heart.. he thought by being good morally it was like some type of spiritually currency... As long as I'm good and do great works i should be rewarded. This explains why Christ was always tested by Pharisees and other religious leaders and he constantly condemned their focus on the perfection of rituals instead of actually believing in the love of god and our trust in HIS work in our lives not our own is what saves us. This is why Jesus found more truth in forgiving an adulteress or a tax collector (Matthew) for feeling like awful sinners because their desire for God's love and forgiveness was more sincere than debating with Jewish leaders on how Christ's actions were not considered righteous according to them... Those people were already spiritually lost because their hearts are so far removed from God's love that they treat the worship of him as a profession to be dissected and criticized or criticize others.. instead of just show genuine reverence.

For Jews, god is an ally, for Christians, they are slaves to God. The original texts have no heaven and hell, only the false prophet Jesus gave us promises of paradise after death. There is only Sheoul after death, and a life blessed by God or Satan or a life cursed by God or Satan. Pick one and enjoy your life because there is no judgement coming.

The text of the Bible shows how easily God's love for Job can be extinguished and how his justice can be made to fade by slander.
Job is mature, but narsistic sadistic all-powerful father in heaven is very childish person.

Laviathan a crocodile?...no, God was talking about a dinosaur. This is a young earth, not millions of years old, and although God allows certain adaptations, evolution is just daft. We walked with dinosaurs and the earth is blatantly obviously several thousands of years old, not billions lol. The world flood fools the Godless that the world is so much older th end it is.
May Jesus bless you and your loved ones.
