I can’t thank you enough for taking the time to write this! I appreciate it VERY much! I’m so happy you liked it and that it turned out well for you!🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Oh thank you so much, I’m so happy you like it! I feel the same so I wanted to make one like this! And it’s small but stretches out quite a bit so it can fit all kinds of goodies in there:)
I’ve always loved macarme projects and your videos first got me into them! This was my first project and I made it for my friend. Hopefully she likes it! Thanks for the video, it was very helpful and made the whole experience so much easier! ☺️
So handy and simple, very well explained! I actually quite liked how it looked before you trimmed the excess off the bottom, as a fringe. Could be an alternate way to finish the bottom.
Just finished making this! So happy with it, thank you for these crystal clear instructions. I think I'll reinforce the bottom of mine with some super glue just in case as I'm using looser cord (still 4mm).
@@soulfulnotions2648 I am planning on making a bunch of these as presents for sure!! (Even though this first one took me about three hours to make - haha, beginner here)
Love your instructions for the bottom. They are very easy to see and follow. I was trying to do a pocket from a tutorial online and their cords were all scrunched up and they seemed like they were just randomly grabbing cords (I'm sure they weren't but I couldn't see or make heads or tails of what they were doing) and I was so lost. This was just what I needed! Thanks so much.
Wow this bag is lovely 😊 Iv just found your channel and subscribed! You explained what you were doing very well and no loud background music so I could hear you clearly. I would love to be able to make this or any macrame but I can’t get my head around all the knots as I unfortunately now have chronic fibromyalgia and chronic muscle fatigue which also affects my brain giving me brain fog, so I cannot do things that I used to do without even thinking about it!, thx for your time and patience showing how to make this beautiful shopping bag! X
Thank you for your kindness & encouragement! I’m sorry to hear about your Fibromyalgia, I hope you can enjoy this craft one day. I have a very slow and easy to follow tutorial on the 7 simple basic knots if you’re up to trying those! I wish you good health and many blessings!❤️
I’m so happy you liked it! I think if you wanted instead of the one single cord, you could make a braid, or maybe a square knot or alternating hitch knot pattern, then tie those like you would the single strand... OR I have a mother tutorial for the second market bag on here and that strap is super padded! Hope that helps:)
6ft pieces to make 1ft long purse .. ~kinda a foot. Thank You! I'm making a slow feeder bags for my horses. I'm recycling their hay bale twine. This is perfect. Of course I'll be making a bigger bag. Great video with details!
I love this market bag! I just ordered some "samples" from Ganxxet to get a feel for their products. I really want to make this bag with good quality cord. Thank you for this👌.
I’ve bought my cord, so excited to try this! I just wanted to enquire how could I make the bag wider? More cord or larger spaces between the knots? Thank you!
I just made one and I love it. I used Bobbiny 5mm cord. How do you think that compares with Ganxxet? I'm in England and am concerned that shipping would be unaffordable.
I love the Bobbiny cord, it works beautifully for these bag. However, I do find it thinner than this Ganxxet cord, so when I use the Bobbiny cord for this bag, I always add 4 more cords on both sides to make up for the size difference and widen it up a bit:)
Hi, I didn't see my question below, I'm having trouble finding braided cord in a variety of colors, so I'm considering twisted cord. What do you think, is there a big difference in the look of the finished bag?
@@soulfulnotions2648 LOL, okay don't have enough experience to know how the bag with turn out. But I'll go for the color first and the design of the cord, second. Thanks!
The only difference in the appearance will be that your cord is twisted. That was the question, correct? Mine is braided so it doesn’t look twisted. Also, the braided cord I used has a little stretch to it and holds knots EXTREMELY well! That mostly why I chose braided cotton air cord for this bag.
Super cute!! So excited to try this! Thank you! I’m sorry if this is a dumb question but when double knotting the bottom, why did you skip the 4 cords on the end and not tie them? Sorry, I am new to this, Great video!
Hi, thank you for your videos! This cord is very stretchy. When you cut your cord, do you pull it tight, or let it lay naturally? When I pull it tight, theres a good 2 feet of difference in the measurements.
I never pull it tight to cut or measure because that wouldn’t be the actual cord length, that would be the length when it is stretched. So most definitely measure and cut when it is layed flat, naturally.
@@soulfulnotions2648 Great, thank you so much for the fast response! Can't wait to make this. I love your videos btw, they are so well made with clear instructions and great video quality. Not to mention beautiful patterns!
I think I meant to type 5mm! And they sell out fast so most likely don’t have this colour in stock at the moment, lots of other beautiful tones though...
Dear, Thank you for your tuto, very nice. But Ganxxet does not propose 4 mm coton air rope, only 4,5 mm, more or less but not 4 mm that I think is a good size. Thank you from Guadeloupe in the Caribbean
Thank you so very much hun!!! I’ve never made it with 3mm but the actual lengths should be the same! Since it’s a smaller cord you might want to just add a couple more square knots to each side to widen it up just a touch! The bag isn’t huge but really stretches out when full:)
I have just subscribed to your channel. Well done and thanks for sharing these great videos. I am new to macrame. Since I cannot find 4.5 mm cotton cord, can I use 5mm cord instead? Thanks
Thank you so much for your kind words! I appreciate it very much🙏🏼 As for the cord, yes, 5mm will definitely work, I do advise to cut a few inches extra for each cord to be safe as it is a little bit thicker so it will take some more rope to create the same amount of knots. ❤️
I’m trying to follow this pattern.. i think i’m doing something wrong.. It’s when I combined it doing the fourth row, i have to make two square knots that are not alternating. I’m confused .. hope you can help me? 😊
It sounds like somewhere you may have used a wrong cord to make a knot in a previous row. Also, double check that you have the exact amount of cords I do in the video. If everything is the same as the tutorial it’s should work as it shows in the video so something sounds off!
Oops! Making bag, and suddenly realised that it is very small....🤔. I did not measure correctly 0r think about the diameter of the cord 🤪- too busy focussing on the knots ! Lesson learnt ... and a nice *small bag ☺️
love this tutorial because its so well explained! I wanted to make this my first macrame project, but all I have is a twisted cotton 3mm cord. Will that work? and if it does, instead of 24 would like 28 work to make it wider since its a smaller cord?
Thank you so much!!!! And yes, your cord will work just fine, you can add as many extra as you need to to make it as wide as you want, so long as you end up with an even number! ❤️
I’ve been at home with nothing to do for about 2 months because of this disaster (tbh, it’s also semester’s break). But, i’ve just known that it’s such a something fun to do rn. Where this video has been wth😩😩😩
Totally excited to make this! How big does the bag stretch out when filled? I want to use it for grocery shopping and want to be able to put in as many items as possible to avoid having to go back and forth bringing in groceries haha
Yeah you can totally do that! I’m almost positive the measurements of it filled are at the beginning but you can totally make it bigger by just adding more rows(make sure it’s an even number though!) and lengthen them a bit:) Hope this helps & have fun with it!:)
This bag says I'm beautiful peasant girl running errands in the village for my dear papa.
