I absolutely love my new Polaris Sports model. At the age of almost 74 my need for speed and performance is as keen as ever. This bike is a red beast and performs incredibly well. It’s a smooth ride even in the roughest terrain. We live 6 blocks away from the mouth of our Manti, Utah Canyon so it’s just minutes away from a picnic and some trout fishing. We can throw on our tent and spend the night under stars. Wild life is abundant so what amazing views as we travel. My ATV is street legal and I use it to run around town all the time. Our town is pretty rural so no one minds an ATV on the road. We have the best of both worlds in great surrounding mountains and quick trips to the neighbors or the store. My new Polaris was affordable and the performance can’t be beat. This is our forth ATV each a different brand. I guess you might say this isn’t our first rodeo.

I have a couple 2003, 350 Honda Fourtrax FMs that my son and I drive.... When I first bought them, thought I was missing out because, well, they are only 350s. I drug a moose out of the bush with mine and have had many great adventures. Only thing I have done is keep em clean, change the oil and filters and the breaks when necessary...absolutely love them!

For me, it would be hard to pick between the Kodiak and the Rancher. I own a 2016 Grizzly but certainly gave the Rancher and Kodiak some hard looks when I was shopping. They are both amazing ATV's with some decent features for a very reasonable and affordable price.

Always had issues with my families Grizzly Limiteds. Overheating, starting issues, battery always dying, and even more. Then we've got a Honda and we haven't done anything to it basically. One oil change and one battery in 15 years of riding and that was just two years ago.
I have no clue why they did so bad with the limited but it made my view of Grizzlys worsen. If it actually ran it would be so fun! But the Honda always tows the Grizzly back to camp.

Also got a 2006 Polaris Sportsman that works great, but did need a new bearing last year. The trails in my area can get a bit rough since loggers just dump the branches and small trees in the trail so that's to be expected on a 15 year old bike in those conditions.

Kingquad, all generations. 4wd with locking diff standard, and on the first generation was mechanically engaged, no electronic doodads to break. Quads these days are going for CVT transmissions, which is fine for the new Kingquads, but if you're looking for something to shift manually, the first generations work amazing. A great quad for trailblazing, couldn't have made our backyard tracks without one!

When Canam made the push to more affordable Atv's to reach every corner of the market it was a step in the right direction for more sales. People don't want to spend much for entry level machines or work bikes so having an affordable base level model that can preform is a big deal. The outlander L and the defender went head to head against the Polaris 500 and the ranger which virtually owned the market for years. The oulander L is one of the best entry level bikes with added features of the more expensive machines such as the G2 chassis and the V-Twin motors. Canam is known for the build quality and attention to detail on their machines and the outlander L series is no exception

  • @IdahoQuadcopter
    @IdahoQuadcopter 8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

The Yamaha Kodiak is the clear winner here because of the 700 engine and superior ride and build quality. The Honda Rancher is a close second, why, because it's a Honda of course. The Can Am is right in the hunt, with the impressive features for the money. This comparison really shows that you can't go wrong with any of them.

I can't speak for the Polaris...but I have that exact same year make and model to the t can am outlander and it is an absolute UNIT. It's a great beast of a machine. Can't stop it get it stuck had it up to the handlebars in thick mud(didn't know it was that deep when I ran into the mud hole,I honestly don't like putting it through that, but when I do it can handle it no problem.) I'd go with this over any other model on this list. I have after market hmf exhaust and itp wheels with kenda executioner tires. Other wise it's stock.

I definitely think the CFMOTO C-Force 500HO was left off the list and can't be beat with all it's features at an amazing price, EPS, winch, LED lights, hand guards and a top notch performer in the mud or on the track. I'm an owner of two of these, and I'm not affiliated with CFMOTO. Great ATV and a Great price, if you're looking you won't be disappointed. I was in a dealership yesterday and the 500HO is retailing for$6500. if you want a more basic unit the 500S is $6000 and they have the C-force 400, no bells or whistles, for $4400 I think it was. Again that;s retail

The good thing is that all of them are plenty powerful and capable for about any task. They each have their strong and weak points, but over all i doubt you could go wrong with any of them. Compared to 10 years ago when everyone was buying hondas/suzukis/kawasakis, etc... with 14-16hp and minimal features, we have come a long way in HP and features, not that those old machines werent rock solid reliable.

Can am is reliable and a fast 2 up machine , still like new because it is my wife's and i'm not allowed to ride it. lol . Polaris's spend most of the time in the shop or on the lift but they make the other machines seem so boring. nothing rides or handles or climbs like a polaris, period. But you do need the honda or can am to get you back home. lol. buying a new machine soon. either a can am 650 or grizzly 700. not sure.

CRAZY. I think out of the list above for horsepower per dollar the 48 hp Canam would be my best bet. And if you compare that to what I have they are nearly identical in price so not bad. Glad we got to see some atv's this time and not a bunch of rzr.

I like the 2016 Yamaha Kodiak 700. It has a good price tag for what you're getting. It has a starting price of $6,999 and is well built in my opinion.

I'd probly go with the Honda because it looks the best to me and you won't have as much maintenance. I'd get the base model with the foot shift, just because that's the cheapest and it makes me feel more in control

I agree with your pick of Outlander L for buying new. It was on my list as a finalist, but I ended up buying a used Polaris instead. It is not easy finding a machine used that has not been abused at a decent price and I almost gave up and bought new, but lucked out at the end of my patience.

I think that the kodiak would be the best, just for the reliability of the Yamaha brand. It would be my pick of all 5. It also has the biggest engine so there is a plus there, though it may lack a little horsepower.

the polaris sportsman 450 ho is the best buy, it's got everything you need and a nice power plant, I have the 2014 polaris 400 ho, great atv, in high gear it has a lot of horse power and low it's got tons of torque. I also have a honda trx250ex, nothing is built like a honda, you have to put up more cash for it but they last forever, mines 13 years old and I love it, I have never replaced anything but the carb and bearings.

You’re absolutely right. The cost has gotten out of control. Considering a 1000XMR is almost 70% of the cost of a Honda Civic is crazy. You can’t even compare R&D costs of cars vs ATV / UTVs yet a UTV will cost you the same as a reasonably used Jeep that you can do a lot more with.

The Can-am is by far the best value. That said, I can't help but notice how much more effort this company puts into trying to supply consumers with machines that don't require near as many upgrades from an after market dealer. If you have the money you can have almost anything you want from Can-am. The idea of trying to please your customer has been lost on so many levels by other companies that it is so nice to see the variety of machines that Can-am has put out in order to become the best at what they do. I am a proud Brute Force owner who loves to ride my 750 that was introduced in 2005 and has had almost no changes made since then. I believe it's 2016. Maybe I'm wrong? Only one example.

This that this that. The best value ATV is buying like a 2007-2014 used ATV off some guy that lives in the suburbs, bought one because he thought he needed it, put 250 miles on it, then needed it out of his garage years later. As long as its not Chinese, its probably pretty solid. Thats your best value. Last 2 used quads I bought (granted a few years apart) - 2008 King Quad 450 - $3500 675 miles on it. 2007 Grizzly 350 IRS 4z4 - $3000 with 249 miles. A few years on both from the time I bought them, but the features I wanted in each, low mileage, perfect condition, and a ton less than anything comparable that I could have bought new. Just have to be patient and look. And sometimes drive 100 miles or so. Bought a 2020 King Quad 750 this summer, had to drive 180 miles to get it, but paid $2K under MSRP new. Yeah, I like the Grizzly 700 better, but not that much better.

This is a very good list! I just purchased a new ATV and my two choices were between the Honda and the Can-Am Outlander XT 570. I opted to pay a little bit more money for the Honda even though I sacrifice some horsepower because I think the build quality was that much better than it is on the Can-Am. Maybe I'll get a Can-Am some other time.

Man, my wife and i just climbed today one of the highest volcanos in mexico with an Oulander L 450 Max, and boy am i impressed with this machine...even 2-up and climbing ridiculously steep inclines, that little 450 just muscled its way through...our tour guide was on a 800 Outlander and he gave me that one for a while, just to test it out, and to be honest yes the 800 is better, but it is NOT five grand better...if i had the money would i buy the 800? Probably. If i didnt would i be bummed about it? Heeeeell no!! The little 450 freaking rocks...now i wonder how well it would perform without my wife on the back LOL....if i die, she saw this comment...dont call the cops, call swat..

Well, I say restoration but really I'm just buying a hundred dollars in parts because the previous owner didn't know how to fix it. I'll drive that thing until the engine explodes and maybe after that too if I can still find one somewhere.

Can we submit an older one? My pick for best value ATV is the 1995 Honda Fourtrax 300. It's legendary build quality and no-quit attitude, coupled with it's low price of 7-900 dollars makes the fourtrax 300 a winner in value ATV's!
