The CFmoto has a plate and mirrors so it probably has some aftermarket stuff tied on to make it legal to whatever their local requirements are for registration. I'm just guessing and trying to give it the benefit of the doubt. Maybe it's holding on a horn or something?

If you live in hot areas like the desert like New Mexico don't buy a CFMOTO they suck they get hot and have trouble starting when they are hot we have the 400 we had two of them got rid of one because my son was a little more harder on the throttle so I got him something bigger my daughter just cruises so it works for her but they both had the same problem when they get really hot in the summer they have trouble starting up after that brand new from the store I wouldn't waste my money on that crap ever again.

I have owned 2 different Polaris quads, both with the 500 ho engine. When it comes to maintenance, they will nickel and dime you to death. Nothing major but you will be replacing brakes, bearings and bushings CONSTANTLY. There are also a lot of different electrical issues you may run into if you run your quad every weekend. That being said, though I no longer ride, if I needed to buy a quad again I would buy a Polaris in a heartbeat. The ride on these is absolutely amazing compared to any other brand. The AWD system is easy to use, just flip it into AWD on the go when you are nearing rough patches and don’t give it another thought. It will get through it, or crawl over it. If it can’t I doubt other quads will. Also, power is amazing compared to other similar sized engines, especially on the smaller displacement machines. My 500 sportsman was quicker and almost anything under 800cc except for the can ams. Sure I worked on it after every ride but oh well I enjoyed riding it more than any other brand I’ve ridden so I put up with it. Just wish I still had time to ride or I would still own my 13 sportsman 500

We were looking at side by sides this week and I caught a mechanic outside at the dealer and he talked to us for about 15 minutes. He let us sit in other people's machines because none of the dealers have anything in stock right now. He said he'd never own a Polaris. He showed us 15-20 atv's and utv's waiting for repairs and they were all Polaris except for stuff that owners had wrecked. He liked the Kawasakis and Hondas they sold and said to buy Japanese...

Do not ever by CFMOTO they do not perform well in the Heat when they get hot and you turn them off they do not want to start back up right away they will if you force them by giving it gas and holding the throttle a little bit so it don't die but who wants to buy something like that when they can have quality. I bought two of the CF Moto 400 and they both had the same problem they were both brand new 2020s from the store I deeply regret buying them. I live in New Mexico it gets pretty hot up here so maybe if you live in a cool temperature area this four-wheeler might be better for you but still I wouldn't buy it

I'm glad you mentioned about the Polaris shifter. I don't doubt that its less accurate and mushy, but even bigger is that design is so outdated. I'm guessing that somebody at Polaris feels like that ugly twisted stick protruding out the side is a part of their brand recognition but it has to go. Thank goodness they didn't carry it over to the scrambler.
I'm also not a fan of the big silver wheel hubs in the center of the wheel but maybe now I'm getting too picky.

For $1500 in savings gives some room for modifying the suspension and moving the brake lever to the other side if you desire.. I have had my Arctic Cat since 2003 and one of the first things I did was to change the rear springs and make adjustments to preload, tire pressures and added 1 inch spacers on all 4 corners, for my personal desired handling characteristics.. Next changes were a tad more aggressive 6 ply radial tires.. Having owned 4x4's for over 50 years (Jeeps, Scouts, 4 wheel drive pickups etc), I have discovered that in many and almost all cases lower power is better (fosters traction rather than spinning and digging deeper holes).. Narrower tires also foster better traction (gets down through the muck to find solid ground for better traction rather than floating in the muck, and trying to paddle in the sloppy stuff).. Tires and ground clearance is the key with just enough power to pull you through without excessive torque and spinning.. My 400 has shamed many with over twice the engine size.. Left them scratching their heads.. Who do you think would win a drag race on ice, a low powered VW Beetle or a high horse powered Corvette - my money would be on the VW for sure..

the funny thing about your emphasis on the brake lever position is on the motorcycle the brake is usually on the right and the clutch is on the left. Given that most ATV's don't use a clutch I don't know why they didn't leave the brake on the right.. it's where I prefer it.

It does have dual Hand levers for the brakes, but I tend not to use the left one, it just feels weird to use, kinda wrong, really. that's one thing I don't like about the Arctic

I have a sportsman 570 with over 400 miles and a cf moto 400 with over 500 miles. both ridden on the same trails and in the same way. I also use the cfmoto to plow snow but not the sportsman. cf moto has had no issues at all, sportsman 570, replaced the fuel pump and both rear axles. I was skeptical about buying the cf moto but for me the savings out the door of over $1500 vs the cost of a 450 sportsman it was more than worth it. the ride is good, it makes good power for a 400 and so far has been more reliable than my polaris 570. I would definitely recommend anyone try cfmoto especially if in the market for a second ATV.

I do like a Polaris, but when I went shopping for a mid-sized 4x4 they just didn't give me the good financing deal that Honda did. I got the 2016 Honda Rancher 420, DCT, IRS, fuel injected model. Well equipped, smooth, tough and reliable motor. For my use it fits the bill perfectly. Polaris would do much better if they would make better financing terms.

We bought a brand new Polaris sportsman 570 and it's full of problems it has broken on the way home of electrical problems under 1000km it's terrible to drive and if you drive in rocky trail the motor gearbox has a
Metallic slamming sound. we had a 15 years old honda rincon and no problems ever only thing was a really dirty air filter and carburator that was so dirty that it didint run good at all after I cleaned them it ripped so hard! it was the best atv i ever ridden every!! winter i drow it in the snow all day it started better then polaris and it doesn't take any gasoline compared with polaris (polaris takes too much gasoline for the power ratio)

I just bought one, picked it up and rode it for the first time today. I don’t find any of the nit picks from this video. The ride is not stiffer than any other ATV I have ridden, I was very happy with how it performed. My property is very hilly with a lot of steep trails, a rocky stream, lots of mud (and snow today, May 8th 2020, really?) . He mentions the sportsman is much faster, well yeah, it’s a 500CC machine that weighs less than the CFMOTO 400. It has a bigger engine, more power and weighs less, duh! The CF also has big steel bars in front where the Polaris is all plastic. The fit and finish is excellent as well. Time will tell with how it holds up, but my first day with it I’m impressed

    • @triangleofdeath6246

I don't see why Not! I'm 6,2, 230 lbs, and a well-used 1983 Honda 185s scoots my butt around just fine, although it don't pull like it used to.
At work, (Weekend Job) the primary Machine we (Me and My co-Workers) use is a 2003 Yamaha Big Bear 400 4x4 it is used for scooting around the yard for getting parts, or else pulling cars around, does fine, and we often have over 400 lbs of stuff on it, 2 people, tools, and whatever piece we just pulled. It is the primary pulling machine as well, it will pull a 3,500 car around. The only problem we run into is if we get a particularly heavy car, (say, a 5,500 lb fully Loaded 1970 Chrysler New Yorker with a stuck rear wheel. At that point, the rear tends to lift up and spin, unless I sit over the rear wheels and keep the back end down.
Even with 300lbs on it (ME, at 230lb, 6'2, and a 70 lb Tool Box on the front), I have had that thing up to 40 mph blasting down the gravel Road, and it acted like it was nothing!
If a 400 Big Bear can scoot like that loaded down, and go through the kinda stuff we use it for, for over a decade (Bought it used, 2009), your BB 350 should have no problems, so long as it has good compression, and doesn't smoke like a bigshot executive with a cuban cigar.

I assume it has something to do with the original packaging? I will say this, SO FAR it's been a great rig. I got a brand new (2017 model) 500cc 4x4 with dif lok, power steering, winch installed, aluminum mag rims for $4999. and when you ride it you don't feel like you are on a piece of shit. It rides pretty nice, looks great. I'm an old school Honda guy and I like this rig. A lot of bang for $5000. My only beef is it doesn't turn very sharp. With build quality being one of the primary consumer concerns about CFMOTO products, I am wondering why Luke is conspicuously silent on the subject--raised several times in the comments section--about the zip-tie strapped to the front of the unit shown in the video. The videographer did not attempt to conceal its presence which in itself is an obvious hint at fit-and-finish problems, but I think I speak for many in my request for an explanation about it.

This is especially common in race ATVs, where they will take a Engine from say, a 550, and sleeve it down to about 435 CC, so it fits the 450 class.
