- After being a product tester for this project , i'm having a good first look at the brand new electric motor from Decathlon/Caperlan.
I am not paid for this video, only had the pleasure testing the fltb9 and accessories before their release.
This is cool. Would love to see the capability to mount to a pontoon kick boat.
Thank you for sharing 🤝
Thinking about getting one of these for savage gear float tube but Decathlon no longer sell the fin base that it attaches too.
Hopefully they are just out of stock.. because it’s a great addition to any tubes without paying too much for an engine
Looking forward to new live streams bud! I know the ‘corona’ period is almost over but I miss these Friday evenig live streams ❤️
Yes working on the next one dude 😉😉😉
Hello, have you finally try it? How does it works? Thanks you and congratulations for your good content.
Hey , thank you Roberto!
Yes I have tried it and I’m very happy with the first outings , I am busy at the fishing lodge these days so not much time for videos.
I will make an update one of the engine when we have some growth of vegetation to see how it handle going in weeds as this is the most asked question.
Ok, perfect. I'll look forward to that video.
Could it be used for saltwater?
I don’t think it’s recommended for saltwater use. I know some people using it in saltwater, but not sure how long can they do this without having any issues in the near future
Can you attach this motor to any float tube? Like the savage gear 170 for instance ? Merci!!
Oui normalement Décathlon devrait vendre le kit d’attache à coller sous n’importe quel autre tube ( suivant adaptabilités) 😉
My friend, i have a Zodiac pro 7 man 4.2 (the weith around 350kg), do you think that i can use as auxiliar motor to come back to home when the principal outboard doesn't want to start??? Thanks!!!
No way, it’s not powerful enough, that would be my guess, better get a Minn Kota 54lbs or something like that to be safe
@@NorbertRenaud Thanks!
Hi Norbert
Do you know where i can buy the Connector for lithium batteries for this motor ?
Best regards Jonas
It comes with two types of attachments, clamps and eyes . Quick change of connection with an Anderson connection.
Oh okay thanks.
What a about a click on adapter, like the one in this video ?

@@jonasgotfredsen the motor does come with the yellow Anderson connector, im sure it’s easy to find or built a connection to your battery. I’m pretty hanppy with the clamp connections so far
Hi Norbert, I have bought same boat and want to make a review video too... I want to show my follower this motor system and could I use your some scene about motor in my video ?
Hey there, no sorry all videos are reserved for my channel mate .
Hi does it fit on the savage gear pro motor 180 do you know
Not sure but I heard that Decathlon have the glue on attachment for sale in France , you should be able to fit that .
Looks like a aliexpress version of the original Float Plus🤔
NOT RECOMMENDED. Looks good but in reality not functional. too NOISY, all fish go away.
Float Plus is my recommendation. Can you make a video about that?
Maybe for your local lakes and rivers, but here I have not noticed spooking fish away. Would love to do a review on the float plus if they send one my way….
I'm curious about the speed of the motor, is it fast enough?
Great speed , you wouldn’t want more for safety
How fast is it ? How Many lbs thrust with 12 volt battery
@@jonasgotfredsen not sure about the speed, will check it next video with how good it is with weeds , I think it’s about 25/30lbs . No ratings in lbs on decathlon website… but I think it’s fast enaugh to be safe, any faster and some people could get wet….
Good review Norbert
I have a pair of basic tubes and they’re great but I agree it can be a workout sometimes just getting back to shore after a long day it takes some effort
The future has been generally disappointing personally but maybe Decathlon can lift my mood 🌞
Hopefully they’ll be available to buy soon .. there’s a decent sized decathlon store nearby but they don’t have much for fly fishing
Nice one Norbert
Best 👍🌞
Thank you mate!
Video molto utile. Grazie. Va bene per kayak decathlon x100? immagino che è più potente dal motore elettrico decathlon con batteria incorporata.
Hey thank you! Not sure if it's compatible, better check with your local store just to be sure. I don't know the engine for the kayak, so i cannot comment accurately on the power difference between the two engines.Again i recommend that you contact a store or send them a mail to be sure of the specs .;)
Hi,it looks great. Is the throttle stepless like the minn kota endura max series? thank you indeed
Hey, not sure about that Minn Kota, but the throttle has tiny clicks when you turn it .
Do they sell the motors in the United States? Or can they deliver it from the UK?
I think stock is low globally, probably will reach the US at some stage…but no idea when that would happen
Is it good for seawater? Does it comes with a certificate of power? Here in Italy to insure it and therefore be legally able to use it in seawaters you must have the power certificate
It’s not recommended for saltwater 😉
Just give them some spaghetti
Hi,
Have you try it yet ? I am courious what battery use to this motor- waiting for my motor to be delivered … and i dont wont to be to much heavy however it would be good to have capacity to use it for few hours
ho yes been using it plenty, i use a 90 AH battery with it and i have no issues of it running flat on a full day fishing.
Can you recommend any specific one ? But not to heavy
@@limakkamil1278 90 AH or 110Ah will be great, but for weight reduction you gonna have to open the wallet and go lithium... ;)
Very good review, do you know if you can use the motor in saltwater? Tightlines 🐟
Thank you Darren, I’m not 100% sure if it’s salt ready, but it should be safe as long you soak it in a bucket of fresh water after use i guess .
@@NorbertRenaud thanks for your reply,I was thinking much the same , the tubes are used across spain (here)in saltwater ,hopefully in time there make a salt motor if this one goes well for them, many thanks tightlines🐟
Hey. What is a max speed with this motor?
I’m not sure, I am waiting for some free time to do an update on the motor , for the speed and how good it is in the weeds. All I can say is that it has a trust of around 22/25 lbs
this motor is brushless?
As far as I know I think they are, probably need to check online to get a definitive answer.
@@NorbertRenaud I asked decathlon italy they answered yes, but not with conviction, it is not specified on the site. Thanks anyway
Cuando llegara a Europa el float tube?
Gracias
the motors will be available this year.not sure if all eu stores will get stock straight away...
Need to find products in usa
