  • Johor Bahru's food scene is so vibrant with a good mix of modern hip cafes and old school traditional bakeries. Singaporeans who cross the border often enjoy cheaper and tasty food and beverages around the area. And we went to 3 different interesting spots today to experience it for ourselves.

      Hiap Joo is overrated and expensive. Leave it to those who earn Singapore dollars.

    For salahuddin bakery they close on friday. Come early as 10 am normaly all bread finish at 2 pm. They baked freshly every day and dont sell the yesterday food. In thursday day finish more early

    Khee, I was there in June. Went to Hiap Joo, meh😂. The don't sell only one piece. I had a banana bread and gave away the rest. I guess I'm not a fan of banana bread. Went to the Kopitiam across the street and had a wonderful meal.

      Yeah we got a pack to share lol it's hard to find that kind of banana bread these days. Kopitiam spots around there are nice too. Glad you enjoyed a meal.😍

    The place is getting expensive for locals since it is targeting Singaporeans with strong Singapore dollar.

      I agree. But the food is so good to not share it to travelers. I think both sides can benefit.🙂
