  • I created a floating home office desk because of the situation we are all in now. Working at home is again strongly advised and I needed a sturdy desk for that. a place where I can work quietly. I chose a floating home office desk because of the limited space it uses. This had to remain affordable and easy to assemble. I myself am very satisfied with the outcome. I hope you can use it as inspiration. feel free to ask or use it as an idea.
    Gear that i use for filming and editing:
    * Nikon D5100 16.2mp DSLR Camera: amzn.to/2PpKU7Y
    * Hama star 61 Tripod: amzn.to/2PsZ607
    * Sandisk Ultra 32GB memory card: amzn.to/38KwbMm

    Great work mate! Did you have to screw on to studs or just the plaster wall?

    • @gbtygfvyg
      @gbtygfvyg 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You will want to screw into studs 100%.

  • @zenginellc
    @zenginellc ปีที่แล้ว

    I really wish I saw that anchored in studs, ideally with rods.
    I'm wincing at the thought of someone attempting to sit on it and it ripping right out of the drywall 😭

    Nice desk! I got a question: at 7:09 I think I see an extra support underneath the base you've built or is that just the camera that makes it look thick? At 7:38 I can see it too...

    Can you please tell me what you used into the wall? To anker the desk to the wall(the dutch word is fine as a fellow dutch man(i think😀)). Because i want to do the same with a 280cmx60cm desk. But still unsure how to connect the fame/desk to the wall. The long part is against a concrete wall. 1side is against a plasterwall. And 1 against(i think) a small piece of wood. Then some isolation and after that some brick wall. Hope you can help me out.

    • @gvlvl
      @gvlvl 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Any Luck? I would also like to know what plugs were used inside the walls. From the video, they go in easily and seems like plasterboard.

    • @Dutchshedwoodshop
      @Dutchshedwoodshop  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      They call this wokkelplug or metalen gipsplaatplug in dutch :)

    You didn't show the placement of the second board below the front of the face-frame, nor the placement of the covering board on the front of that board and the front of the face-frame. I call that cheating. Also, an office needs at least 2 file drawers and your desk looks too low to put one under it. How would you accommodate a filing cabinet?
    Otherwise, nice work with the wood. Paint / stain?
