Its economy is growing, but its two main industries face a similar; tourism, while providing jobs, is damaging the natural beauty of Palau, especially its famous reef, and the fishing industry is struggling due to overfishing in the area. TOTALLY!!! If you haven't been there...I would suggest, you should visit and see the island for yourself. I'M VERY FORTUNATE to be able to live on that island. BELAU change my TOTALITY. A part of me was left and hidden on that island, a connection that will never end. AWESOME PLACE!!! A HEAVEN and Haven for me.

I saw Palau on discovery channel, Ushuaia (wonder why they're not broadcastin this program anymore) 4 years ago. If i had the chance to visit only one place on earth before i die. i guess palau and machu pichu would be in the final. Lovely place. Hope have the chance to go there i like the nonpoisonous jellyfish lake. I am palaun as well. What beaujam is speaking about it true. Our island has voted with Israel more times than any other place on earth, even when it came to blocking humanitarian aid to innocent Palestinians civilians. This is not the right thing to do. I would hope that my fellow Palaun people will push for and support a shift in paradigm; backing a move that violates other human beings rights is a horrible thing to do. I would hope that everyone here look at the UN drafts that palau voted for.

Palau has a lot of Hotels. I would recommend Palasia cuz it looks classy. Or Sea Passion cuz it's classy with Edgy. Or Palau Royal Resort which is both combined and more rooms. Or you could go to Palau Royal Resort where it has a natural beach.
Please do not destroy this beatiful place.

Turtelitis... you missed the part where i said scuba dive... divers are some of the most eco friendly people out there and totally respect the enviroment and do what they can to clean up trash etc.....sooooooo where should we stay?

I read up a lot on Palau, especially Peleliu, because of my interest in WWII battles in the Pacific. It's so ironic that bloody battles were waged on beautiful islands like Peleliu.

TOMMY! Tommy is my dads uncle. palauans know others like regular friends.like for example , my mom lived by her grandma and my mom's mom would always go out alot. and they didnt need to worry if my mom went outside if she was just 10 becuz the other palauans that passedby knew eachother.
@Chrissie3777 no im half palauan and i do fine there, you'll probably do well to start in koror, until you get used to palau. i have never heard of anyone dying from mosquitos. i will tell you that only palauans can own land, no exceptions

Where is the best place to live, how do people HONESTLY view inter-racial relationships there (my fiance is Japanese, White, & African American & I am white), and tell me about the mosquitoes....
