    I don’t know why some fools would give this a 👎 because this is excellent. We can see learning taking place in the classroom. Keep doing your thing man. From one teacher to another, I applaud your great work with the students.

    My son is going into an ESE first grade class. Of course it will be E-Learning. I know the school is using Seesaw. Is there a tablet you can recommend to use this app on which would make it easier for my son? I am guessing an iPad mini or iPad with the Apple Pencil for writing? Id love your feedback and guidance. Your channel and your intro to Seesaw really helped ease my anxiety as a parent. Thank you so much!!

    I started using seesaw this year. My students love it. I was able to get my reluctant reader to read by creating a chatterpix then posting it to seesaw. Great resource.

    Another TX teacher TH-camr; awesome! Thanks for talking about SeeSaw. I went to a training In the beginning of June and the presenter had us create an account but then we didn't do anything with it lol. 🤦🏽‍♂️ So now I'm thinking about how to utilize it at the high school level.

    When you use this during centers, does it take the students a long time to record their work before having to switch to the next center? Or do you give them like a 2 minute warning before it's time to rotate so they can begin submitting it? Thank you!

    • @AaronsHobbiesPresents
      @AaronsHobbiesPresents  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +sincbme it takes very little time. If they are just posting a picture it takes less than a min. As for rotations, I don't rotate stations. The kids have three jobs to finish at their ELAR station for the day. Then the next day the go to the next station. I have 10 stations so the rotate through them all in 2 weeks.

    HI, I am curious about the whole media policy thing and FERPA with this. I do green screens with mine and love editing videos so I just want to know how.....:) I love the idea of posting it to the whole class, but I would be nervous about parent backlash. Do you get special permission for kids to be able to post their writing and recordings for the whole class? I teach second grade, and since we don't give grades yet, I could possibly still get away with it... But was wondering how you deal with that.

    • @AaronsHobbiesPresents
      @AaronsHobbiesPresents  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Lisa Church great question. Are you asking about FERPA for my videos or using seesaw? Seesaw is easy because when the kids post their work, it only goes to the child online portfolio and only the parents attached to that see it. As for my videos, if there is a name on anything, there is not a last name, and I never show my children’s faces. Does that answer your question?

    • @lechurch
      @lechurch 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, no, no, not yours.... :). Sorry for not clarifying, using Seesaw is what I was asking about. In the video you mentioned that the kids can see each other's writing and that it helps set expectations of how they can improve or what they need to work on. 2:26 - 2:53 min of the video. So from your response, Parents can't see other kids work, but other kids can see each other work?
      You are really good about making sure no P.I.I. are in the videos you share which I know isn't always easy and applaud you for that. I make these hour long End of Year videos, and always struggle with how to share them.
      That does lead me to another question though since it came up and this does refer to your videos. By tagging the artists of the songs used in the description of the video is that how you can use them? Or do you have to get special permission? I was using youtube to share my EOY videos privately but they were getting flagged for Copyright. Whomp, whomp, whomp...

    • @AaronsHobbiesPresents
      @AaronsHobbiesPresents  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Lisa Church great questions! Yes, other kids can see each others work. But that would be the same as putting work up in the room or hallway. As long as there are no grades, then it’s ok. You can change the settings in Seesaw where other kids can not see other work. It’s a very adjustable program.
      As for the music, I find music online that has been labeled as “fare use”. When you search in SoundCloud or google, you can specify music that can but monetized and used. Also, TH-cam has a free music catalog that can be used with out fear of being flagged. If you like the music in my videos, I always link where you can get it in the description!
      Ok, I think I answered that? If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask! I love to help :)

    Sorry, this looks like social media in disguise. You're training/addicting the kids to posting life for self validation. If there was some discussion in this video about how to moderate device usage it would be less bothersome. .... not to mention that it appears that the instructor has to be glued to his/her device to approve/deny postings throughout the day.

    • @AaronsHobbiesPresents
      @AaronsHobbiesPresents  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The teacher can for sure wait and ok the posts at the end of the day. The social part is very much about charging what they are doing with their family. The future of work and jobs are about working socially and communicating through media creativity.

      @@AaronsHobbiesPresents I'm a white collar professional in my 30's, and sorry, I disagree with you. I find your video disturbing that its being injected into a kindergartner's curriculum. Tech has its place in the classroom, but you have not convinced me that this is it.

    • @AaronsHobbiesPresents
      @AaronsHobbiesPresents  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Logi Tech well you are more than welcome to a different opinion than myself. The conversation about technology in the classroom is still a very active conversation.

    • @logitech2072
      @logitech2072 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@AaronsHobbiesPresents Just a follow up, after observing how seesaw has been used for a few months in my kindergartner's classroom, I stand by my original opinion that this is social media that trains and addicts kids to posting for self validation. Maybe some teachers are utilizing it differently from you. We were given an "optional" release form that we were required to approve. This is crazy.
