Razor: make sure you get the good ones by the case in the *painting* department of your hardware store. I favor Warner brand.
    Nippers: Wiss
    Shears: Mundial or Wiss
    Small scissors: Gingher

The correct pronunciation of Mundial is moon-dee-aal. They are fantastic.

Wow, these applique scissors look genius for the type of work you use them. The safety they provide can't be rivaled by any tool i know. I've never came across with such an instrument but i think it is worthy of researching and buying!

So helpful, you taught me to use the razor instead of seam ripper. Huge speed improvement! Fear not, the razor is your friend! (Except when the grandkids are around.)

I think you are exactly right in suggesting TEX means textile! The TEX system basically is a thread measurement standard. The higher the number, the heavier the thread. There are 3 basic categories of measure; fine threads are numbered Tex 9 to 20, medium 21 to 70, heavy 71 or higher. I've not seen a TEX chart before with 8 on it but would assume 8 or lower to be superfine, lol!

Cool bideo. I like those Mundial 490-10 (big bolt) you shared. I have a Mundial 2498-10KE (498-10 on box) . How are they different? Mine don't have the big bolt. Box indicates Signatures Series Tailor 10" I would like a more heavier industrial weight for leathers vinyls & sail cloth for hobby upholstery, I used the Gingher Knifes Edge Dressmaker 10" before. Awesome shears as well. How do you feel the Mundial 498-10 compare to Wiss W20 10"?

I feel like, across all models, the Mundials are more refined. They are prettier, have a softer metal, and make a lovely click. They are the Cadillac of cutting. Wiss shears are nothing to look at, feel a little more assertive and serious, and take much more back room abuse than the Mundials do. I have a pile of Mundials that need repair. I don't have any Wiss shears in the pile.

Just curious why Swiss shears are on your product page and not the Mundials, which you mention preferring here.

No real reason. When I was adding the products, the Mundial's link may not have been working. Statistically though, I buy and use 5 Wiss for every Mundial. Mundials are more enjoyable, but the Wiss are my workhorses. They always last longer.
Edit: I need to go back and add them on there. Thanks!! :)

Between those two, I think I should choose Mundial 490-9. Those are the ones I most often keep by my machine. I tend to favor them.

Bridal Sewing Techniques , not sure of the time stamp, but the scissors I’m referring to are ones you use to trim lace. The bottom is half moon shape. I truly enjoy your videos. You’ve given me so many helpful tips and tricks. Keep the videos coming, please!

shibu_deb Hi! Many of my videos now have Amazon links as I am an affiliate. I shot this video and many others before I joined the program. I need to go back and add links to some of these older videos, and I hope to soon! But, with running a bridal alterations shop & producing roughly 2 videos a week, some things will take time. Please be patient with this limited human & stay tuned. I will add links as soon as I can. Thanks! :)
