The starkness, historical evidence, and the archeological evidence of the new testament is unmatched than any other part from the Bible. It is known that Jesus was a real person who lived in Nazareth and died from crucifixion. It is also the fact that the disciples were so willing to die for something they saw and believed in. For example: The Apostle Peter doubted and denied Jesus was the son of God numerous times, but after witnessing the crucifixion and the resurrection, much like the other male Apostles he was willing to be martyred and was crucified upside down by order of Nero because he believed he wasn't worthy to be crucified in the same manner that Jesus was. I suggest that you read the bible (or just the new testament) and do more research for yourself from apologetics teachers like Michael Jones (inspiringphilosphy) and Frank Turek (Cross Examined, although I will admit he is painfully awful at debating, unlike Michael.) I hope this helps at least show a case for some evidence, and I hope you have a blessed day.

I think that if we're open to it and do our best to understand it, we'll experience it's power. Michael is good at his work, like the Bible says, a person who has mastered their craft will do so before Kings one day. I heard a lot of this proper understanding of faith when I read Karen Armstrong's "The Case for God" several years ago. I was an atheist at the time and this idea of faith as closer to trust in definition broke the spell the New Atheist outlook held over me. I realised that many of their talking points are faulty and misinformed and that scientists don't have all the answers. Love this video, this enormous misconception needs to be swept away.

Abrahamic religions demand blind obedience through fear and hope. That is what blind faith is. It is impossible to argue with members of such religions when facing the truth they show hate and anger or they just ignore you to keep leaving their brainwash fantasy. I know this because I experienced it and as a former Christian I never saw the truth so clearly. There is nothing more unfortunate than live in a distorted interpretation of reality. Rejecting the Bible or the Quran or any other holy book makes no one an atheist. This is a lie propagated by Abrahamic religions because they also are exclusivist and it makes them extremely dangerous in educating people into fanaticism. Most people have an emotional attachment to their holy book and that is why they cant reason

This is one of my biggest frustrations with atheists. They often claim faith is belief without evidence. It's frustrating to me because I came to faith as a dreict result of God showing me the scientific, historical, logical, and theological evidences. My montra is to alwayd be ready to give a reason for the hope that you have. Know what you believe, know why you believe it, and be ready to defend you beliefs. It concerns me how so many Christians hardly know their own beliefs, let alone are they able to actually support and defend them if challenged. ........ My view is that people should seek to objectively evaluate all sides of a disagreement, look at the evidences themselves, and come to their own concussions.

      @johnc1014 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

@@philosophyreligionself5648 Regarding Evolution and Creation, it's best to first define terms. I've come to believe the Creation account described in Genesis. The theory is basically that God created all life each according to various kinds of life and each only reproduces within their respective kind, though some variability is perfectly acceptable (ex: cats only reproducd cats, dogs produce dogs, humans produce humans, etc.) Evolution is the theory that all these life forms originated from a single common ancestor and, from there, through a process of beneficial mutations preserved through natural selection, evolved into all the diversity in life we see today.
As far as evidence, Creation is plainly observable in natural and easily testable and reproducible in the lab and in practice. For example, you can breed dogs for certain characteristics to give you widely different variations, but you always remain with dogs.
As far as Evolution, it is not observable, by definition, as it requires millions of years of beneficial mutations accumulating to produce these changes. However, aside from that, it has consistently failed when tested in the laboratory. Scientists have tested it with such organisma as fruit flies (due to shortened lifespans allowing observation of far more generations. There, it still failed.
I can go through the many claimed evidences for Evolution, yet they all fall short of actually proving the theory. Evolution relies on such things as the fossil record, claiming that organisms in lower layers evolved into those of upper layers. However, this interpretation of the fossil record simply doesn't hold water. Fossils don't form over long periods of time. They must be buried quickly, with water and pressure. On top of that sedimentary rock layers are formed under water though the accululation of sediments on tje sea bed. Many such evidences point to a betrer interpretation of the fossil record being that of a global flood (i.e. the Genesis Flood account). Anyway, I have a lot more. But, I've already probably given you too much to respond to. I'll stop now and give you the chance to think and reply.

Well, no. I haven't given me anything to thing about, because I have heard those words thousands of time. Your perception of how scientific experiment is conducted is wrong, also you do not understand evolution (judging from this). I am not ignorant on this subject, I have and am studing it, I just wanted to know arguments that held your world view.
Instead of getting into debate with you here. With I will mot, because I do not engage in such activities on the net, because it takes too much time and is mever productive. The fact is creation has no evidence to back it with, evolution has more than enough. So I'm coming from with one has more evidence, I have worked in labs, I have worked in feild. The fact that you tell me that evolution is not testable has no evidence to back it up with. Only shows that you haven't done enough research and again, do not understand what scientific experiment is.
So, instead I'm going to recommend you a few books to read:
"Why Evolution Is True" - Jerry Coyne.
"Your Inner Fish" - Neil Shubin.
"Climbing Mount Improbable" - Richard Dawkins.
"The Extended Phenotype" - Richard Dawkins.
"The Blind Watchmaker" - Richard Dawkins.
      "The Mismeasure of Man" -
      Stephen Jay Gould.
"Evolution: What the fossils say and why it matters" - Donald Prothero.
P.S - Your dog analogy is flawed in so many ways that I couldn't even take it seriosly. It is laughable.

Anybody who wishes to try to debunk Christianity will always interpret verses and words in a way that they want to and not by the actual context these are set in. Whenever you see a verse presented as something always read the chapter to ensure you understand the context. It applies to all the so called contradictions, virtually all are self evidently false and the rest make sense if you understand the original Hebrew or Greek or the actual historical and cultural context.

@@RickinHKG the request for clarity is always there. The basic premise is a demand for absolute proof. Yet that would strip us of our freewill as we would either.
      1. Submit to God's will whether we wanted to or not. Coercion rather than freewill and love.
      2. Rebel against an overlord that we would hate.
However, God wants us to have freewill, to decide for ourselves and to come to him through love. He has given enough guidance (scriptures) and evidence (historicity of the resurrection, etc.), it is just for us to make the decision if we want to accept the possibility of God and then open our hearts.
Science has absolutely no evidence for naturalism and how the universe, life or consciousness started, Even evolution shows that the early microbes were preprogrammed so that the genetic regulatory networks could be rewired when the environment changed to enable them to evolve.
