- Hey Everyone! This is another subscriber requested video all about my favorite discontinued fragrances. These are the ones that I have in my collection anyway. I hope you enjoy!! Also, please let me know in the comments how you like the notes on the screen rather than me reading them. Which do you prefer? I will do whatever the majority of you say you prefer. Kisses!!

I like reading the notes on the screen much better! I also don't care at all if you can't pronounce some of the perfume names...so petty that anyone would be irritated by that. You give great reviews, and have turned me on to so many great perfumes I wouldn't have known about otherwise. Thank you!!!

Sarah, Thank you so much for this video! I love getting a heads on fragrances that are going to be discontinued or already are. Gives us a chance to pick them up before the prices skyrocket! I also love that you butcher pronouncing some of the perfume names😂😂😂I don’t feel so alone because I butcher quite a few myself. As for the perfume snobs that get upset with you...Girl, you just keep doing Sarah! We love you just the way you are❤️😊❤️

One of my favorite discontinued scents that you can probably still find online is Bvlgari Black! I am hunting for the actual 1998 formulation! Not a safe blind-buy
Sarah, I was wondering if you could talk about experiencing perfumes going 'off' and how we can know when this happens. I've noticed with some newer fragrances they go bad faster than older classics, and wonder why this is? I know some use a vegan formula now, and wonder if that has something to do with it?

Hi Sarah, notes on the screen is a great idea, leaves more time for your excellent descriptions. I was wondering if you've done a review on Marc Jacobs, Perfect. The bottle is sort of silly and cute, but I really like the simplicity of the juice. The rhubarb note is very pretty.

I did pick up a bottle of John Paul Gaultier 2, on Mercari, not too expensive, recently.
I also discovered Alien Essence Absolute after it was discontinued, so scoured the Internet to find bottles and paid the premium.
Also got the Fracas dupe Madonna Truth or Dare, which I know you don’t like but I love it.
Did find Madonna Truth or Dare Naked on a Canadian website.
I love Alien but hate the reformulation so scoured the Internet and found older bottles.
Blind bought Insolence yesterday on Mercari or ebay.
Good choices.

I loved Xia Xiang as a teen but Sensi is the one that hurt the most lol.
Also Deneuve was a chypre I found interesting. Some of the SJP ones like Twilight I miss too.
I own Deneuve, primarily because I am such a Catherine Deneuve fan. Exceptional quality and remarkable that it was produced by Avon! 🥀
Loved the video !! I live in Havana and I just saw two Shalimar Parfum Initial in a store, same place also sales Delices de Cartier edt and the prices are pretty economic !! There are some Lolitas Lempickas too, I believe L by Lolita Lempicka, Si edt and Elle l’aime. Cuba is a huge museum of discontinued fragrances.

Hi Sarah, I don't mind you putting the notes on the screen but they went by so fast I couldn't read all of them, lol :o) I would suggest leaving them up through the entire discussion of that particular scent. Also, I love most when you describe what you are actually smelling, as you do. Often times the notes are blended in such a way that they don't always tell the scent story. Thank you! Julia

I'm so envious of your bottle of Midnight Poison. I recently bought a dupe from Dua and it's pretty good. I just couldn't bring myself to pay the inflated prices on Ebay. I own a 10ml of MP and I have the same bottle of Poison that you have.
Guerlain Ideal Cologne is so good. It's a modern classic

I think sometimes it can be hard to tell if a fragrance is no longer be big produced or if it’s just not being sold in certain retail markets.
I have some amazing discontinued gems in my collection and I treasure them so much. Quite a few of them are Mugler fragrances.
I was able to find a bottle of L’Homme Ideal Cologne for a great price last week and it is amazing. I am so glad I picked it up.

Guerlain Initial was re released...it's crazy what they want for it. Luckily I own 2 of the older bottles like yours :) I was looking for Midnight Dior...paid up the a** for it :( I really want The taste of fragrance, but I'm not wiling to pay what they're asking for a 1oz bottle.
Two of the fragrances I really liked were discontinued, and seems like the third one is following the same path, need to get a backup, grrr. Great video!
I just found a full 2 oz bottle of Alien Essence Absolu on Mercari for $200 and I’m so excited! It seems like my dream fragrance! It seems like they always discontinue my favorites. Also, I do like hearing you read it but I don’t mind it written if it stayed on the screen a bit longer

I have like less than 10 sprays in my original Miss Dior Cherie from like 12 years ago. I still love it!😭😫I wish they would do a limited release, at least.

Hi Shelly!! I usually look for them on Mercari and EBay. You have to be kind of careful though because people do try to sell games. I usually look for kind of one-off sellers. Someone who just doesn’t want the bottle anymore. I usually have the best luck that way. I hope that helps! ❤️

Crabtree&Evelyn was a company my friend liked years back i think she had Island Night but it was a really elegant floral beach scent....
I wish gucci brought back Gucci II & Gucci I- they had heavy glass caps!!
OK, not sure if anybody remembers this I used to get this spray called pink innocencia by sonia kashuk. It was a GORGEOUS floral bouquet. I may even buy a bottle if I can find for memory sake. OH, and the original marc jacobs marc jacobs for women perfume was probably the best gardenia perfume at the time that it came out. Soo much better than Kai, I dont know why they ever stopped making it
All of those Sonia Kashuk scents were quite special. I used to adore the Yellow Alluriana 💛 version. It picked up my spirits whenever it was down and sad. I also read that it was one of Cindy Crawford's favorite perfumes.
Boucheron Trouble will always be my favorite discontinued fragrance. Man, I miss that one!

I found a bottle of RL Tender Romance at Goodwill for a good price, but unfortunately it had turned (the top notes were clearly degraded) 😢. I want those yummy pears!!

Darn! I just bought a bottle of Ralph Lauren Notorious off of eBay and the top notes are gone on it as well. It’s so sad when that happens. ❤️🥰
I adored Tender Romance! Its sillage was not the greatest but it truly smelled quite special 🥀
Burberry Brit Red was my mom’s signature scent when I was younger. I had to find a bottle for her!

Oscar de la Renta Ruffles, Isabella Rossellini Manifesto, Cindy Crawford and JLo Glow - it hurt me to see them go. Especially the Manifesto. It was pretty expensive at first but it lasted for such a long time and smelled amazing, they made a cheaper version of it and it was basically ruined. It didn't sell so the perfume just disappeared. A brand that went AWOL and it still bugs me is Un Monde Nouveau. Their Cherry Cherie (cherry&musk) was perfection in a bottle.

My fav discontinued ones are Ghost Serenity and Ralph Laure Polo Sport for women. I have spent a lifetime trying to find a good dupe but alas no luck. 😭😭😭
I think I explored a mix that gives a bit "My Insolence" vibe; Layer Gucci - Gucci Guilty EDT with Elie Saab - Girl of now Shine :-D
Aww Sarah you had me at midnight poison this was one of my all time favourite scents, virtually impossible to find it now in the UK unless you want to pay £300 pounds for a half bottle which i just wouldn't pay xx

@Iona Heathcote - I agree. I'm in the UK too and the asking price for MP is just too expensive. I'm making do with a 10ml and a dupe from Dua. I'm an "original only" type of woman but the Dua is very good.

We ALL hate it when they discontinue a fragrance, and usually when they reformulate!! The notes on the screen are good but weren't up there long enough (or I read slow).
I’m so lucky I still have some discontinued gems and I’ve found some that I’ve always wanted to rebuy. My only regret is not buying a backup of Stella Rose Absolute

I panicked when I heard Nahema was going to be discontinued! It is one of my favorites perfumes ever! But then I saw Guerlain was bringing it back, reformulated of course.
I totally prefer to tell me your opinion about the perfume and describe it in your own way, despite the notes. Actually is more interesting to see that you are smelling peaches for example, but the fragrance doesn’t have peaches. I like your videos very much btw, they are very calming. ❤️

Midnight Poison is such a treasure. It is so perfect, it is a cerebral patchouli for people who *think* they hate patchouli. The prices are crazy on eBay, but even with such prices, there are so many fakes floating around. I read that it was discontinued because the makers sold a similar formula/notes to YSL as "Elle." Not sure if it is true. Looks like Armani is notorious for discontinuing frags. I think they recently discontinued Code Cashmere.
I hate that they discontinued that one. ❤️ I will have to see if I can find a bottle of Elle. It’s really hard to find too. ❤️
@@SarahMayes I have not tried "Elle," but I read that it is sweeter than MP. I think Elle has a litchi note, which has not worked for me in the past.

Are you familiar with a very old perfume called Beloved by Prince Matchabelli. I have a set that I've had since I was 16 and I'm 69 now. There are not any fresh/useable bottles anywhere that I know of.

I've never smelled Miss Dior Cherie but I read somewhere that Signorina Miele Fragrenza was supposed to be pretty close. Also, completely random, but back in the 90's there was an infomercial about a perfume called Curiosity (not the Britney Spears Curiosity). I remember it being very overpowering back then to my young nose and wanted to smell it again but it's nowhere to be found. Have you heard of it?

Do you think that E&J Nirvana White is a good dupe for Stella Nude? I believe they’re very similar. I also get a little Stella and Nirvana White from Aqua Allegoria Ginger Piccante.

The 2012 miss Dior! Omg i smells devine with Egyptian jasmine and manderine. Anyone know any dupes??? .. Omg! the Bvlgari notte is amazing!!! The Champagne YSL. Oriens by Van Cleef and Arpels, Look by Vera Wang, Miss Dior Cherie, Blue by Ralph Lauren and Metal by Paco Rabanne.......I'm still crying over the loss of these fantastic fragrances 😭😭😭
There is something so comforting about Blue by Ralph Lauren. It is perfect, endearing, and subtle.
The Shalimar Parfum Intitial WAS released in the bee bottles....$280-$300 range (?)...HOWEVER !!! They are re-releasing it again in those "newer" bottles (like Mitsouko, LPRN and L'Heure Bleu...etc...) and I heard the price will be more "normal"....in euros it was like $140 ish USD...WHEN ???!!!...is the question...lol.
Guerlain is so crazy with how they discontinue, reformulation, re release! ❤️

The two most annoying designers are Dior and Gucci because of their constant reformulations. 🙄🙄🙄🙄 Miss Dior Cherie was my 2nd favorite smell ever. where did you get your bottle? Gucci edp has long been discontinued too, ugh why.

I own all Miss Dior and love every one of them. I do love the 2005 version best followed by absolutely blooming bouquet.

@@SarahMayes I think the whole 'storm in a teacup' may be because 'Gioia' is pronounced one way in Italian but pronounced a different way in Spanish...... It's all irrelevant because what matters is how it smells, not how it sounds! You do such a great job of describing fragrances, don't worry about it!
GIOIA is pronounced JOY-A, meaning joy. GIORGIO is pronounced GEORGE-O. GIO - JO

They aren’t providing the pronunciation at all. Those comments I don’t mind. It’s the ones where people are pissed off and leave nasty comments telling me to quit being disrespectful and to look every french word up. It’s ridiculous and clearly they are triggered if they are going to take time out of their day to be hateful.
