When you said I normally only work like 2 hours a day, that washed away all of my procrastinating ass' guilt. Also, I appreciate how actively you take care of yourself. Good to see that especially in a pandemic
this is what i actually realized in college while reading Deep Work. In an 8 hour work that you would do only 2 or 4 hours of it is the only time where youre making actual focused work, usually. there will be instances that you can work in a really focused and meaningful way past that, but its rare, and people who can do it regularly more than 4 hours are just special. so i guess its a good reminder that if you feel like youre just slogging after doing concentrated work for at least 2hrs or 4, most times what youre doing above that is just busywork, in the sense that you have already expended your focus juice.

programming games is how I got started in programming, Then I went on to have a career as a software developer, did a whole bunch of interesting projects, now Im back developing as a hobby. Games really push your technical abilities, however I would recommend any aspiring game developer to start out, working as a "normal dev", somewhere you are exposed to reasonably deadlines, and can learn how to prioritize problems. and work consistently. Game development as a non Indie is a very toxic, often un-rewarding career, unless you are already experienced, or in a senior function.

I saw john romero at a games convention. He sold me a signed copy of masters of doom and a poster. Also told me to try CoronaSDK(now called Solaris), but that was in 2017.
02:35 “why do I live here” lmao, love this channel
programming games is how I got started in programming, Then I went on to have a career as a software developer, did a whole bunch of interesting projects, now Im back developing as a hobby.
