- Video of the Introductory C (2016) British Dressage test with narration, tips and abbreviated test subtitles.
This video has some excellent quality close up footage of me practice riding the Intro C filmed with the Pixio Robotic Camera following me ride the test.
We have done a very good, accurate test but are not perfect! The video is designed as a tool to help you see where you are meant to ride the movements and learn the Intro C test.
There are abbreviated test subtitles and narration added which includes the Intro C dressage test and some tips for what the judge is marking you on and how to ride some of the movements.
Watch this repeatedly to help you learn the Intro C test, how to ride a dressage test and pick up tips for how to improve.

Why are promoting riding with your beautiful horse over bent and behind the vertical?
gong to a dressage show in less than to weeks with a horse thats never been loaded before this could be interesting
Love watching your videos, really informative and I've learnt so much. Could I ask ''How do I correct a deep frame?'' I get marked down because my little mare is too low/deep in the frame? xx
Best to get some knowledgeable eyes on the ground to help you but they usually duck behind the contact when not working enough from behind and over their back enough. It takes time to develop the strength required for the impulsion and to be able to take more weight behind and raise the forehand.
Please can I have some tips on how to make the two half circles equal. Thanks
Do you mean the two 10 m circles with the give and retake's? As you complete the first one to the left look at A and aim to complete it on the centre line, ride a moment of straightness (half a horse length) change the bend and you and your horse into position right and start the second circle. If you keep making the first too large and overshoot centr line, have less bend and turn sooner. It you are turning too soon and not quite getting onto the centre line, have a little more bend and turn slightly later. Maintain a good rhythm and balance always x
Done this last month best score eva 70.65 5th place out of i think 23 so chuffed :)

I know this is a really old video but I have my first dressage test with my horse on Wednesday however he’s really lazy - and I mean REALLY lazy. You have to barrel kick to transition to trot and even then it’s slow and he will buck and throw a fit if you so much as touch him with your whip. How do I help with this?
