- Tips and advice for the Introductory A (2008) British Dressage test.
This video has some excellent quality close up footage of me practice riding the Intro A filmed with the Pixio Robotic Camera.
We have done a very good, accurate test but are not perfect! The video is designed as a tool to help you see where you are meant to ride the movements and learn the Intro A test.
There are abbreviated test subtitles and narration added which includes the Intro A test and some tips for what the judge is marking you on and how to ride some of the movements.
Watch this repeatedly to help you learn the Intro A dressage test, how to ride a dressage test and pick up tips for how to improve.

Hi EquiEvolve... Just want to thank you first for such a fab and easy way to learn a dressage test... I'm an absolute beginner in dressage so only just learning the ropes and of course rules... Are the intro tests you've uploaded the same as you would ride one today.. I've been following the vids daily in my training and I'm happy to tweak the tests if they are slightly different to what you would ride in a test now... I'm Only asking to see if its worth me downloading the correct version off the BD site... Being new to it all and still learning about tests etc I just want to make sure I'm learning the tests correctly thank you for the time and effort you put into your channel x
This is a fab idea. However, I think it's easier to visually learn a test from A, i.e. the direction you enter and ride it, rather than from the judge's perspective. For some reason I learn the test back to front if I learn from C!
LOL, I might do one with the action cam one day!

I'm not too experienced in dressage competing can you change from sitting trot and rising trot or do you just have to pick one and stick to it the whole way through?
Hi, you should really stick to rising trot for Intro, Prelim and perhaps Novice, although by then it comes down to preference and what keeps the horse soft and through. For Elementary level it is required to do sitting trot (apart from the medium trot when you may still then go rising for that part of the test)
