canzo0378 To reply your questions 1) English is not my first language, I am sorry if I confused you. I should say "me". 2) I am not Japanese. 3) You say "Fans like me simply treat him like rock star rather than a sportsman, and you obviously don't know how to evaluate sport's performances fairly" . I don't why you have this assumption on me. I only asked you one question politely "who should get the gold medal and appreciate it if you can tell me why" . Could you tell me in what aspect does it relate to "treat him like a rock star" and "evaluating sport's performance fairly"?
canzo0378 I think the judges placed Junhwan first in the LP, but Yuzuru was leading by just enough points from the SP - so he had the higher total score. He won by a very narrow margin. Also take into account that the level of difficulty of his program did exceed that of the others at this competition; he had more difficult entries and exits on his jumps and spins, and more complicated steps in between overall.
プレゼンターが去る時表彰台の上からでもお辞儀する羽生君。表彰台から降りた時振り返って国旗に頭を下げる羽生君。こんなできた若者見たことない。同じ日本人としてあなたの礼儀正しさが誇らしい。 Yuzuru bowing to the presenters leaving, and bowed to the national flag after getting down the podium. I'm so proud of his politeness as Japanese.
Yes, I love that about him! He is so polite and such a good sportsman to others! He has no jealousy at all. He may be disappointed in his performance at times but is always so genuinely nice to the other skaters. He must have wonderful parents!
I also noticed that on the podium, he turns towards the other skaters when they are receiving their medals and claps for them. I think he does it pretty much at every competition. I have yet to see another athlete who shows such respect to his fellow competitors.
"The flowers will be presented by...."!!! 5:35 look at that girl on the far left slowly starting to bow too🤣 That was me when I lived in Japan. You kinda start behaving according to the people around you.
Tears flowing down out of my eyes when the national anthem of Japan is played...we see Yudz mumbling the lyrics and standing still while Roman is moving...Why tears? I am thinking of this young man, victim of the Great Eastern Earthquake and Tsunami in March 2011,standing there proud and tall...representing his cherished and beloved country and city (Sendai)...so far from Oakville,Canada yet shining brightly...so wonderful! This I will never forget...will always stay in my heart...NOBLE SOUL
Such an audacity of Roman Sadovsky...he could have fixed the string himself...why should he put it off and let the lady do it once more??? Yudz hides his face in disbelief! Such an unpolite gesture if Roman...
Sure Meina, there is everything to see and laugh about...the humanside of the otherwise so serious ceremony! Am so happy that Yudz is in a very happy mood yet his overall points differ only a little to Jun Hwan Cha's...he surely knows that. More hard work needed,Yudz,at Helsinki from November 2-4. Wishing you every success in this world!
Love this angle...got to see Yuzu's scrunchy face towards Roman as well as the cute toe pick moments...so funny how you girls were muttering about the protocols under your breath too...I think everyone was haha...but like you said, "don't want to ruin the moment" 😉😆
OMG, look how respectful Yuzu is! He is one of a kind. And his body is to die for! So slender and elegant, his profile is PERFECT! Did anyone notice when they got on the ice to take photos, the Korean wouldn't put his arm around Yuzu? smh
It's a cultural thing. It could be either of these 2 reasons: 1) We Westerners need to understand that not everyone feels the urge to hug. Yuzu's been abroad longer, so he kinda adapted it. But since the Korean skater wanted to hug Roman, it might be more because of: 2) Koreans pay a lot of attention to the junior-senior system (unlike Japan), so a junior suddenly hugging a senior without the senior offering the hug first comes off as rude in Koreans' eyes. Even if Roman did it, it does not automatically mean that you follow to hug thzzzeee LEGEND. Better play safe~(?) BUT it might be neither of these reasons. Cause I think they hugged a lot before that.xD Anyways, they are close, don't worry. ;) The drama is only in our heads.
Umm, Japan does indeed respect the senior and junior system (senpai and kohai) in school, business, socially, period. I guess nobody is like Yuzu - he's so genuinely kind and respectful. I know nothing of Korean culture but I know a LOT about Japanese culture (my ex is Japanese and I have many Japanese friends). I know that the Japanese seem to show respect and are polite to everyone, regardless of their nationality or race. I have no drama in my head. I only made an observation and I'm not worried. :) It's interesting though - I've never heard that Yuzu and the Korean were "close" and I follow Yuzu a lot. The only one I know that's he's REALLY close to is Javi.
@@kuroneko7022 Yes, the kohai senpai thing is prevalent in Japan (I have lived and studied there and I'm gonna study there again next year), but it's nowhere near as strong as in Korea. In Korea, literally the second question everyone asks you (after "name") is "how old are you?". Then they decide how to behave in your present. It's indoctrinated in their heads xDD My Japanese friends, some of them since 2010, still don't know my age nor do they care😅😂
They‘ve been rinkmates for a few years and are both coached by Brian Orser. They get along well. He just seems a bit awkward and obviously doesn’t know all the ins and outs of senior medals ceremonies yet. It’s not that serious. Stop trying to make assertions about Japan/Korea conflict here where there is none. Yuzuru clearly adores Jun-hwan, and Jun-hwan respects Yuzuru as his senior both in age and esteem. Korean and Japanese attitudes regarding that really aren’t different at all.
Yuzuru really has such a pretty figure and it definitely really helps accentuates the aesthetics of his skating
