    This is my first car ( I have white with leather) and I love it. I agree it's not very fast and it does blend in with the crowd but I think that's why I have stayed away from police despite hauling butt everywhere. This car cruises very nice at 70-80-90 mph and at all speeds is very comfortable and quiet which I think you missed in your review was how just relaxed it rides. Good content though !!

      The only problem with this era of ford products is they very easily rust. If you’re looking at one, look underneath and make sure it’s not all rusted. Other than that, these cars are very solid and long lasting

    I've had a 2010 Milan 4 cylinder since 2011 that I bought used with 32k miles. It had one emissions issue that was covered, but other than that it's been great and is smooooove on the highway. I love it at 150k miles still going strong.

    Hi. I owned an 09 Premier up until last Fall. My brother ended up with it and used it as an Uber ride. It had the 2.3 L Mazda based engine and when he traded it in, it had over 275 K. Yes, it wasn't a typo. Original engine and trans. Took it on multiple long distance trips prior it to becoming an Uber car. Solidly reliable and comfortable as well as luxurious. I was also a big fan of its styling. For a Ford based product, I thought it was quite sleek and pleasing to the eye. I'd own one again if I could come across one well maintained. Otherwise, Ill just have to stick to my current ride, a 07 Marquis.

    Compare to the "crap" that Ford sells today - take this any day... Ford's love affair of putting a glorified "B&S/Kohler" engine in everything with multiple turbos to give it enough power to hit 65; lots and lots of electronic goo that serves no purpose; and then jack the prices higher and higher as well as the dealers in my area love to add $5,000 "market adjustment " add-ons to the window sticker - this is beautiful as well as awesome!
    Just found one of these - almost a twin to this one w/less than 60,000 miles on it - going for it!

      @@c.jjones3587Well actually I will probably have to get rid of it as it has difficulties getting less than 35MPG; rides nice, handles, nice, quiet - all paid for but it just is not right that it does not have one of those little tiny ecoboost engines in it; I am not carrying $60,000 in debt against with payments in excess of $900/month; insurance costs of more than $200/month and should only get maybe 20-25MPG while going down a hill while running premium in it - just not the latest and greatest. Plus I am bummed I cannot play with a touch screen while driving 75MPH+ down the road - just killing me!

    I have a 2011 Milan, with the 6 cylinder and 6 speed transmission. I'm getting almost 24 mpg in town, and thoroughly enjoy driving it! The 6 speed takes some getting used to, because the engine revs higher before shifting! The car is fun to drive, quiet, and has ageless styling, in my opinion! I've had Mercury's before, and always had good luck with them! Fun car!

    I used to have a 2011 Mercury Milan in silver grey. It got totaled by hitting a deer in early December 2016. It was my 3rd car. I got it in late June 2012. I wanted a Ford Fusion but, the Milan had the lowest mileage on it. My was silver grey. I do missed driving it. I even drove for 2 weeks a 2006 Mercury Milan in dark royal blue. It was when I hit a deer the first in April 2016 before the one in December 2016. I really liked the color of the older one than my car at that time. I don’t have that car anymore. Now I drive a 2020 Ford Escape SE in black. Lots of Ford and Mercury vehicles looked almost alike over the years. I remembered seeing little Ford stickers in the Milan’s hood. I have been in a 2011 Ford Fusion in silver grey. It had black cloth interior. I was lucky to have that car and it had a lower price from the original price was.

    These were fine cars. Just fine. Could have been called the Mercury Miquetoast. I have a 2011 Lincoln MKZ, and it's been perfect reliability wise, is smooth, quiet, nicely equipped, and decently quick and nimble. It has the V6 and AWD, so it's pretty different in a lot of ways, but still the same bones. Can't imagine the Mercury version being a horrible car...just "mediocre" as was the general assessment here. The Mercury segment was always a bit vague...like, should a fully loaded Mercury be as good as its Lincoln sibling with no options? A little better? Not quite as good? That border never seemed very well defined.

    Thanks for making this. I own a 2010 Ford Fusion as my first owned car ever. It's a really good car and it has the same counterparts of the Mercury Milan as it's the the sister car of the Milan. Personally I think the 2010 Ford Fusion looks better than the 2010 Mercury Milan, but mine has no heated mirrors and it's the SE trim. I almost bought a 2009 Mercury Milan but I went with my now owned 2010 Ford Fusion.
    Though the interior is almost the same exact thing as these 2 cars from the same era are sister cars, I guess the Milan seems O.K but I think the Ford Fusion from the same era looks better on the exterior as it had a more traditional look.

    With the benefit oh hindsight these brands that sit in between mainstream and luxury seems pointless.
    Now mainstream cars have gotten so expensive and complex the highest trim levels cover this segment for buyers. I guess decades ago it made a bit more sense.
    I would say that this "premium" segment needed more than a cheap rebadge. It needed its own charcter. On a immediately glance I would suggest making such a brand heavily invest into say.. being sporty. Being a semi luxury car isn't going to cut it. You gotta make the brand have charcter for customers and the badge to mean spending beyond a cheaper Ford or Lincoln. Mercury being sporty and investing in a sporty handling would appeal to folks.
    But this is all in hindsight. Also running a car company is harder than I think most of us give automakers credit for.

    • @doug6191
      @doug6191 ปีที่แล้ว

      You're not wrong that Mercury should have had a distinct personality. Given the history of the brand, Ford should have left Mercury as-is, and the Ford brand should have gone after the sporting role, like what Pontiac was supposed to do. Ford had Focus ST, Fiesta ST, Mustang (obviously), and Raptor. They also had Edge Sport, though that wasn't particularly sporty. They should have given Mercury all the non-sporting models, luxed-up to compete with Acura (which isnt actually luxury), and then build true luxury cars for Lincoln (they should have further developed the Lincoln LS to fix/refine that model.)
