Thank you for this explanation about word count. I’ve never heard it explained before. I’m writing a short story with a Christmas theme I plan to publish next month.
@@StoryADay Yes, I do want to publish them at some point. I keep writing and writing and I never know when to wrap it up. I'm narrating a few stories for my TH-cam channel too. My concern is that my stories are not completely fiction. There might be a few missing details that skew the moral lessons I learned from life's challenges. And that is my concern. I have a very good memory with details that might be incriminating to some and inspiring to others who may not wish to have their name left out of the story.
@@StoryADay I thought about changing the names but I wanted to keep the names of people who died since it's a credit to their memory. That is my biggest concern. I don't want to make a few unknown relations the object of public interest without their consent. And my last problem is deciding which celebrity names to include and which to change. I used to work in a field where I encountered people from all walks of life. Most of the people who are my finest characters are forgotten people who significantly impacted my life in forming and strengthening my character. One of my stories involves a Nun with a heart of gold. By coincidence, I brought her name up on the exact day of her funeral. I had not seen her for 40 years, and just like magic, I thought of her during her "wake". I was thinking of a meeting in her office with Craig and his mother and my father. I "woke" up and copied the evidence on Facebook in a private chat with my catholic classmate. And used it as proof to wake up a few more Catholics.
Thank you.

Where did these Rules or Standardisation come from?
Common practice over the past 100 years or so. There’s always some flux, too…
I have written hundreds of short stories and have not published one.
Do you want to? (It's ok if you are just doing it because you love it)
