I love the looks of the new GSA and i took one out on a demo last week. The ride felt harsh and the performance left me thinking it wasn't that good. I should've checked the settings before I left the dealership, maybe it needed setting up better. But so far, my Multi V4s has nothing to worry about 🤔
I rode one, it does everything you expect it to do very very well but i didn't feel it was hugely different to the 1250GS it replaced and certainly not enough to warrant shelling out the huge asking price. Then I rode the Triumph Tiger 1200 GT Pro and and instantly it felt a more characterful and engaging motorbike, it put a grin on my face and I chose that over the new GS. All about personal choice isn't it, different bikes suit different people for loads of different reasons.
Chatting to my biker mates, the old school GS owners hate this. I would never buy a GS before, but love this. We came to the conclusion BMW aren't targeting the now much older audiences, the type who have probably bought a 1250gs and it will be their last big bike. BMW are targeting a younger audience and it shows in the general response. It's an amazing bike, and I'm going from a Ducatie to a BMW GSA, which is what BMW wants.
After riding both the 1300’s….my 21’ GSA and 23” GS….I stick with them…not that drastically different and the looks of the 1250 is still superior….IMO….thanks for the video….great job!!!
When I took my test ride, it was a hell of a bike, and I liked it more than the 1300GS, but it's too big and pricey to warrant replacing my 1250RS. FYI - I've recently seen a couple of 1300GS second-hand fully spect at around 18k on local dealers' forecourts.
My R1300GS quickshifter had the "pause" between 5th and 6th which was sometimes a bit of a pain, I took it in to get it looked at where they updated the software and apparently reinitialised the shifter and now it is a LOT smoother, very occasionally get a small glitch but much less often and severe than before.
I do wonder if we (bikers) really NEED all the electronic options…..I’m perfectly happy riding my 2002 VFR with none of the modern stuff! Bit like smart TV’s…..don’t need all the gizmos, just want to switch on and watch! Re: running in, not as necessary with modern bikes as the engineering/ manufacturing tolerances are much tighter than, for example 1960’s bikes when QC was somewhat lacking.
That route brought back memories of riding from Reading to Eastbourne every Friday night to see my girlfriend, back in 1996. Froze my bits off. Was worth it though, been married to her for 24 years now 👍
See when you talked about getting rid of the whining sound, your exhaust won't get rid of it, it's the final drive, the big cog in the rear wheel hub..
I disliked the 1250 GSA after my two standard versions which would be the version I’d still consider, this is grotesque; ugly, tall, heavy and the engine still rattles. Love my V2S Multistrada and getting the V4 version next time.
Have tou fitted and exhaust eliminator from healtec .........wow what a difference, have it on my 1260 termignoni exhaust enduro ....works on the V4 too
You look for more suited to GSA compare to the standard GS . Your big lad , and it may be me but the standard GS looks to small in comparison to your size.
Had 6 BMW Gs's it died truth be known in 2013 The first 1200 lc was passable from then on cost cut to death...Any one who knows once the 2010 to 2013 twin cam and twin indicator switches went it was over 😂
Isn't the only reason they are getting bigger capacities is due to the power loss due to Euro5 restrictions with worst to come! In the end we will be on EV's
Nobody does reviews as good as Bruce. Nice one, Bruce
Solid review; GSA appears to be a winner though too heavy for my riding and too rich for my bank account. Great work👏
Always a pleasure watching your videos.
Never been a huge GS fan, but after seeing this one in the flesh, I could be convinced 🙂
Love the off road riding Bruce, it definitely counts 🤣. Great video
It really suits you Bruce, you being a bigger chap

Well said.
Dropping a Tiger Explorer 10 times in 12 months last year, nah, I'm sold on Triumph anymore.
I’ve ordered a new multistrada V4 over the new BMW 1300GS, it’s no better than my current 1250GS and I still think it’s Fugly.
I have Tiger 1200 GT PRO for two years now love the bike

No argument here 👍

I’ve tested a few as of now .The comfort seat is the way forward found the std and the low to hard after about 1.5 hours the pain starts lol.

How did The Tractor feel on the way home?

It is just Fat GS, why would I need one? kinda knew you would love it lol. Gonna make you up a T-shirt with that slogan
I've been telling you for years Bruce 😉
Does the tank cubby box lid hit the handlebar riser ? I heard it does on other reviews.

Try again Bruce with a standard seat and adventure screen. Night n day 🤝

Is there a trade in on the horizon?
Dis you tried ASA or you are completely against it without riding bike with it
I'm shore you've ranted on about the standard GS been far better than a GSA over the years..
ASA is going to allow me to resume riding with arthritic hands and after shoulder and knee surgeries.
Welcome to the dark side bruce 🤘👍👍🤘

My 1300GS is Euro 5 +
Yes they are Euro 6 compliant in readiness for it
ASA is the one.......
Had 6 BMW Gs's it died truth be known in 2013

Sounds like a bag of spanners...
So basically made a 1300 sound like a 1250 😂😂🤦♂️
