I was at this show. 3rd or 4th time seeing them. This is what stood out from the show, had never heard Good Good Time before that evening. Chased that sound and memory for years until I discovered this video later on. This was the band still in their absolute prime, at their absolute peak.
Man, LeRoi really rips into this song when he comes in on his solo! I saw him play his last show ever at Hershey this year, and he will be missed deeply by anyone who follows their music. This is hands down the best DMB song, it needs to be played more, and to have it here on youtube at my home venue, is awesome. thank you uploader and R.I.P LeRoi!! in your heart, you know that the truth always shines on
this is my favorite song theyve ever done, i had the pleasure of seeing it 4 different times, the version from the cruise was unbelievable, i wish there were more videos from the cruise mannn
CAPTAINS LOG: its march 17th … quarantines been tough, but were getting through it. This song has helped a lot. probably the 1 song I'd say I wish I saw live. thanks boys.
Had never heard this song before, as crazy as it might seem. Been to at least 3 concerts a year since 2004 and a huge fan beyond that. Anyway, came across this on the WH CD, and we made this our theme song of our Gorge 2014 trip..... Would you believe this was his opener? Stars were aligned! Love ya DMB! #goodgoodtimes #KITKATSAM #BoiseDMBCrew #Gorge2K15 #DMB #dmb2sets
This show was in my hometown and I use to go with my sister and last year i was looking at my past shows and went I got this song? I give thanks to the tapers and TH-camrs. One of my favorite songs!
I was there @ Hershey for this show & this is my FAVORITE version of Good Good Time! Which is a song I ABSOLUTELY LoVE! It also one of my favorite dMb shows of the 197 shows I've seen!
3 years after my comment and this is my most played video on TH-cam byyyyy far. DMB keep being you. We will keep being us. And together, we are amazing!
One of the greatest GGT ever. I get soo excited at least once a tour when he teases this.. and I've even been lucky enough to hear 1 minute or so before Dave loses the scat...but at least this gem is on TH-cam to fill the void once a week.
I think that 04 was the one of the best, perhaps the best tours of DMB of all time. I know everyone says that about their year, and I totally respect that. But for me personally I went to 3 shows at th e Gorge, then saw them at Golden Gate in SF with Carlos Santana. The songs on that tour, all the standards, plus sugar will, shotgun , and other rarities. It was truly magical... RIP Groo Grux King 🙏💜🙏
This is a great quality video! I usually skip some of these vids because of all the noise & shouting around, but this one is clear. Thank you so much to whomever filmed this. This is yet another phenomenal version of this song... Chills!
My favourite song they've ever done that's never been on an album, and one of the rarest to hear live--it's been played less than 30 times ever--and I've somehow been lucky enough to have heard it live twice. Besides having one of Dave's best guitar parts ever, the most awesome thing about it is that, like the song #40, Dave's never actually written lyrics for the song--he's improvised them on the spot every single time. Amazing that he can make up a tune that good off the top of his head...
I heard #40 played in full at Saratoga this year and it was absolutely incredible. This song is next on my list that I'm dying to hear live.. Maybe next year!
ChalandlerBing See, and I'm hoping to get what you got at some point, somewhere. The closest I got to hearing #40 was a short tease of the riff at the start of a show 14 years ago--no vocals, or anything like that--just Dave goofing around on the opening riff for a bit. It's one of the last live rarities I'm still hoping to cross off: that, Christmas Song, I'll Back You Up, and Let You Down. Fat chance, I know, but, maybe next year...
DMB affects me like no other band can or ever will!!! I know when I walk through those gates at any venue that I've ever seen them at that I can park all my worries at that gate and forget about life for 3 SOLID HOURS!!!!!! 70+ shows and it NEVER gets old!
They are crazy for not putting this on an album! What a great song! I'll be praying they play it at the last stop in St. Paul this year...with both fingers crossed! :)
haven't seen the band since '05 (stand up left a terrible taste in my mouth), but this remains one of the best shows of any band i've ever seen. and these 10 minutes were really special at the time.
i didnt even realize that this was one of the shows i was at the jimi thing from this concert was the best version ive ever seen/heard live dave scat singing bout big asses
lasts night show was EPIC, and guess what boys and girls, good good time was soundchecked today. im heading to the show now, please PLEASE keep your fingers crossed for this song.
@ bmcougar2007: I agree- I have been listening to this song non stop this week & it's bittersweet. I found myself wishing they'd bring it back, but then not really, because it won't ever have the same feel w/out Roi. It might be the same lyrics & music, but in my view Roi personalized a lot of DMBs music w his gentle, but deep soulful playing. His sound had a certain presence that is irreplaceable. I'm so grateful we have so many recordings :)
@Dickson1550 I feel the same way!!! This band has got me through some of the roughest times in my life!!! As well as providing me some of the most memorable and happy time sin my life!!! I wonder if they realize just how much their music affects TRUE fans like ourselves???
there was a really great version recorded on the bonnaroo '04 album with dave and friends. you used to be able to download/purchase it from their website.
@mikeykelly21 good call!!! i find new versions of songs all the time, and i'm like holy shit!! I'm so excited i still have Governer's Island and the Gorge left this summer!!
after a minute of this song, i got completely lost into it. around 5 minutes in i was suprised when i looked back to see the vid was taken off some handheld camera. Dmb is one of the precious few groups who sounds as good if not better live than in the studio.
I was at this show and listened to this basically on loop for a year afterwards.
+James Bull I was there too.....this is a nice throwback!
Dude, I understand. It sends you.
Dave will never ever ever understand what he means to all of us. His humbleness shields him.
"Don't believe there is a light that's brighter than the one that shines from you" fucking love that line
Don’t listen to the tv, just make your own way home. 20 years later and I’m still jamming to this!!
This is an unbelievable version. The improv lyrics, the accompanying music, Roi's beautiful solo. What a feeling this song so happily gives you.

2020 and still listening. Been in love with this band since college.
Man, I can't stop listening to this song. It's yet another burried treasure in their catalog that they really need to dig up and bring back.
Cause the wine taste good and the dance is feeling fine fine fine.
Roi , with his soft touch and poignant wails, just crushes my heart, always, but this is a special one... Groo Grux King 🙏💜🙏💜🙏
this is my favorite song theyve ever done, i had the pleasure of seeing it 4 different times, the version from the cruise was unbelievable, i wish there were more videos from the cruise mannn
This is still one of my favorite songs man so beautiful
Goosebumps every time. Even after so many listens. This song is phenomenal.
Pretty rare performance. The best version of this song by far!
He played this same version at Bethel this summer and it was simply amazing.
This one is great for getting through tough times.

Hadn't listened to this song in 6 months. It was time.
love this song. somehow find myself coming back to this one at least once a week. just can't get enough.
By far my favorite recording of this song... In your heart, you know it, the truth.. it always shines on...
This song makes me feel every emotion that exists... But mostly, and most importantly, LOVE LOVE LOVE
One of the greatest GGT ever. I get soo excited at least once a tour when he teases this.. and I've even been lucky enough to hear 1 minute or so before Dave loses the scat...but at least this gem is on TH-cam to fill the void once a week.
Spotify has not captured this yet. So here I am.
This track is incredible! I never heard GGT until tonight and I love it!

this is always wonderful
I think of this song as a mild dank nug. Smooth and relaxing.

Roi sounds beautiful in this. Miss him so much.

Gives me the chills..
DMB affects me like no other band can or ever will!!! I know when I walk through those gates at any venue that I've ever seen them at that I can park all my worries at that gate and forget about life for 3 SOLID HOURS!!!!!! 70+ shows and it NEVER gets old!

Beautiful!
I will never understand the brains of the 7 people who disliked this....you have my sympathy....it must suck going through life with horrible taste.
Awesome, thanks for this video. They should bring it back.
Great video! This brings back great memories. I can't wait for another Hershey concert tonight.. It should be a good good time!

Your dead right Stan, he'll never know.... just how many lives he touches.
they've GOT to bring this song back
I love this song. I was at its debut in Bonnaroo 2004. It silenced a crowd of 100k and was truly magical.
Just realized I was at this show! My first. Amazing.
The look on Carters face while feeling the groove and looking over at Dave pretty are pretty fucking amazing
Love, Love, Love, Love It!!!
Best version of this song to date!
great vid. DMB brings it every night.
Good good time is finally on the next live trax album. #43. The live trax volumes are great at getting the rare stuff out there for everyone
And now this concert is Trax volume 50. Enjoy
haven't seen the band since '05 (stand up left a terrible taste in my mouth), but this remains one of the best shows of any band i've ever seen. and these 10 minutes were really special at the time.
