I could never wait that long for my door to open. Never. I don't even like any ding noise, or any delay when I get in a car. What I want to do is get in easily, quickly, and drive ASAP. I even get irritated when the rear camera takes more than one second to come on when I put it in reverse.
The car looks great! The nods to the original are nice touches. The doors require too much space to be able to open though - I don't want to have to park at the back of the parking lot every time to avoid getting blocked out of my vehicle. I also already live in Florida. The LAST thing I want is for my seat to constantly be heated to 98.6° - or warmer. That whole wristband and seat stuff is so unnecessary.
I agree. The "kissing"& "Hugging" thing is creepy if you ask me. I would disable THAT function right away. Heated seats for winter, cooled seats for summer, THAT I'd like. I would also prefer doors that could both, open like conventional as well as gull wing, in case of cramped in spaces and (God forbid) a roll over. Let's face it, someone IS going to do something stupid at a high rate of speed and land it in on its roof.
Because the doors open from the center of the roof...LESS space is needed to open the doors than conventional opening doors TRUE FACT !! Ask any Delorean(or Bricklin owner)
It’s like they didn’t bother doing a customer survey and just decided among themselves? What they should’ve done is build a two seater with design elements taken from the classic version, but with newer updates.

Looks cool but I wish they kept some classic options like the pull door strap, manual options. What happens with these newer cars if something glitches, like there's no physical way to turn something on or off? It would be awesome if they remade the classic car literally look wise with slight updates and make that one a hybrid car with the classic options from the 80's version but updated like the current cars today meaning they want the touch screen/pad stuff ok but also have the physical switches, door straps etc. This new car the whole virtual kiss, hug stuff doesn't seem necessary but ok lol

This is a new company using the family name without the knowledge or permission of John’s true heirs. Not bad, space wasn't wasted on the layout and design style . There's nothing if find pointless like getting in a car that looks big on outside but tiny in inside.
Love the V lights, clear homage to the flux compositor, its nice there paying respects to the films that immortalized the image of this vehicle though clearly flawed but still ahead of its time. So happy to see it coming back to the car industry.
No, he wasn't. He was a sleazy bag hole. He and Colin Chapman bled DMC dry and left it for dead because Delorean didn't care about making cars, he cared about making money and looking like a big shot. There was a piece on him somewhere on youtube that I guess got taken off but in it, they describe an earlier business interaction of his wherein he cheated the widow of some inventor of something (like how specific I'm getting?) for his own gain. I wish I could find the damn video again and post the link.
Should’ve made some limited edition ones with flux capacitors somewhere in the back seat area just for nostalgia. I think it was quite possible that would’ve made it a collectors car for some interesting people and car collectors. Also why do all these new electric car…even concepts have the same rear end style? That round rear with the strip tail lighting. Not many original in that area. Then the more futuristic they look, it seems the harder and cheaper the seats appear. It’s like they make the outside nice but similar to almost everyone else, spend tons on the dash and censor area, and boom are like, “just throw whatever seats in there”. Sheesh!
The 88 units they are going to build is a shout out to the Back to the Future movie where they had to hit 88 miles per hour for the Eon Flux Capacitor to allow them to travel through time. Too bad that DeLorean didn't designed any part of the car to look like the Eon Flux Capacitor (maybe due to copyright issues) someone should design one with some functionality to it like interior mood lighting, or something to be added aftermarket.
This is really amazing and such a comeback for Delorean motor company/DMC! I love all the new ideas and virtual things that can happen and the updated additions in technology! My only gripe though is the design of the car. It is too generic of a supercar and electric car like Lambo or Tesla, even the wheels. The original design had something so unique of its design, even though not having fast speeds but it's so memorable. Not just because of Back to the Future, but it's sleek and unique design compared to many cars we have now, it's bloxy edges. Compared to now which looks all the same from different companies, rounded and wavy edges! Which is why many people keeps it as antique. It would be cool if they could do a DMC-12, with all these new upgrades, but just a few futuristic upgrades to the external DMC-12 design! What do you all think?
This isn't a comeback at all by the way. It's a completely different brand just using the name "DeLorean" to gain attention. They have no connections or ties to DMC at all What you're looking for is actually DeLorean Legacy Project. That's John DeLorean's daughter who is working on a new DeLorean that actually resembles the original DMC-12

Wow, I LOVE this car! One question though - being as I have no one to hug or blow air on the back of my neck…. can I swap out that feature and have a flux capacitor fitted instead?😄
jeez some of the options these cars come with remind me of pimp my ride, to ambitious and things that most likely wont get used except as a novelty act. make reliable/safe/comfortable cars and chill with the bells and whistles/future head aches
I' expect to see this in the much vaunted Back To The Future sequel , and a commercial with Doc Brown bringing one back to 1985 to show it to Marty , including the immortal line "this sucker's electrical' and 'when she hits 88mph you're gonna see some serious stuff' !
For charging, I'd prefer Tesla's NACS over CCS/J1772. The car looks great and I like that it seats 4 with only 2 doors to open. Don't really care about the haptic features with the wristband, that's something I'd probably use once or to demonstrate but never use it for every day driving.
That has got to be the most stunning 4 seat coupe ever. It's actually got legroom in the rear! Yet it looks like a 2 seater or 2+2 from the side. But put all those gimmicky bits in a upgrade package so I can just get the car a little cheaper as I have no use for them.
Its just like the ride vehicle for Back To The Future at Universal Studio Holly Wood, be nice if it seat up to 8 people, 4 in front and 4 in the back, and a convertible.

Not only this but also the claim is to connect you closer to family and friends by virtually hugging or other dumb shit which atleast to me is peak disconnect.
@@marcusjozefowicz5064 straight up half the “features” are creepy, like the location of your contacts thing
@@jackwinter1507 exactly.....the kiss thing is just straight up creepy
@@jackwinter1507 for me that's the only cool feature. I'm sure it only deals with addresses in your contacts, and not their gps.
No smartphone shares GPS continuously. Even in Google maps you can only selectively share for 30 minutes. Android and Apple would never allow such a security hole.
The car looks nothing like a DeLorean
Amazing! Just curious to know what happens if the passenger is having high fever? Would the chair heat up to the fever too?
I got some Cyberpunk 2077 vibes from the intro music and the looks of the car. :-) This car and it's features looks amazing b.t.w. I like everything about it, the dash, the center console, the doors and the exterior design. This is gonna be all out at the dealership when it is released.
@coreys trainbox I haven't owned one yet. Hopefully that is when I'll get to do time travel 😃
Doubt it! Especially when thier isn’t a dealership currently lol
Everything except the name.
It would be simple enough to call it something else like Bolt.
Believe…….th-cam.com/video/mQazhiyOqyQ/w-d-xo.html
It literally looks the same as every normal modern car inside 🤣. Hyundais N Vision 74 is a better representation of the DeLorean than this is. This is just another old car being forced into an electric market 🙄
"That brings back a few memories, right?" No, the original had DMC on the front. 0_o It's cool, just not a next gen DMC-12. Probably shouldn't focus too much on the original car when it doesn't look inspired by it much.
I could never wait that long for my door to open. Never. I don't even like any ding noise, or any delay when I get in a car. What I want to do is get in easily, quickly, and drive ASAP. I even get irritated when the rear camera takes more than one second to come on when I put it in reverse.
I thought exactly the same!
Great Scott, this is incredible.
That's an amazing car and it's cool when the doors are open the lights outline the shape of the flux capacitor 🤩
Very 😎
I gotta say I'm quite impressed by single door for access to both front and back seats.
@jemimallah2591You're so negative
Still prefer the old one...🖤
Looks incredible, but I hope it will be more reliable :)

Amazing! Lots of gimmicky features but it would be great if this actually made it to production. Also glad the channel is producing exclusives again!
By the way what's happening with the Ares S1? It's been well over a year since you announced you bought one but sadly no updates since.

This car can clearly make 88 miles per hour but the real questions are :
1) does it have a flux capacitor ?
2) can it produce 1.21 gigawatts of power ?
If not, i will not buy it.
1.21Gw!!!!

do you have a flux capacitor?

Looks cool but I wish they kept some classic options like the pull door strap, manual options. What happens with these newer cars if something glitches, like there's no physical way to turn something on or off? It would be awesome if they remade the classic car literally look wise with slight updates and make that one a hybrid car with the classic options from the 80's version but updated like the current cars today meaning they want the touch screen/pad stuff ok but also have the physical switches, door straps etc. This new car the whole virtual kiss, hug stuff doesn't seem necessary but ok lol
Marty, you've gotta come back with me, back to the future! Looks like it could fly. It probably doesn't though.
Time for another back to the future where Marty's kids get the new DeLorean!
Will have to come standard with the Mr fusion! or else wont be able to charge up in the past! 🤘🤘

I highly doubt that would be the case
NOT associated with the DeLorean family nor is this the original company. Not supported nor endorsed by John DeLorean. This is a new company using the family name without the knowledge or permission of John’s true heirs.
They have invented a new history for their ad campaign but my father was making cars in the 90s and 2000s. They have been disrespectful to his legacy and I believe they are usurping his name.
@@deloreanlegacyproject1191 it's very unfortunate that they say they're "reviving DeLorean" and stuff like that. DeLorean is not dead. It is very much alive through the owners and enthusiasts that have and love the original cars.
It won't!

I LOVE THE COMPARISON BETWEEN THE NEW AND THE OLD DELOREAN MODELS..................................THAT S PRO JOB GLORIOUS STAFF 😉
The fine folks at Delorean have been supporting the old car with factory stock replacement parts for 40+ years now, they absolutely deserve to have such a cool car back on the streets :) maybe it goes 188mph this time?
Not bad, space wasn't wasted on the layout and design style . There's nothing if find pointless like getting in a car that looks big on outside but tiny in inside.
Love the V lights, clear homage to the flux compositor, its nice there paying respects to the films that immortalized the image of this vehicle though clearly flawed but still ahead of its time. So happy to see it coming back to the car industry.
I just watched a biopic of John Delorean on Cold Fusion, he was actually a pretty good guy.
Just with a terrible idea that cocaine is a good income source for s struggling company.
he was no saint either
Watch the video of him trying to buy 2 keys of colombian smack! 😆 🤣 😂 😹 😆 🤣 😂
More interested in the blue one behind 😍🤤
cant help but remember the quote "the dream is over, the nightmare begins"
Exterior looks good, interior still needs alot of work, currently looks cheap/tacky.
agree. the screens and plastics look very cheap and already outdated by several years
Very cheap the screens look awful and I don't like the gimmicky hugs and kiss features I'm paying extra for
Yup, that's our future car!
now let's wait for the back to the future franchise to make a time machine again

Sheesh!
Fantástico, faça reportagens de aeronaves como o Preator 600 Embraer.
The 88 units they are going to build is a shout out to the Back to the Future movie where they had to hit 88 miles per hour for the Eon Flux Capacitor to allow them to travel through time. Too bad that DeLorean didn't designed any part of the car to look like the Eon Flux Capacitor (maybe due to copyright issues) someone should design one with some functionality to it like interior mood lighting, or something to be added aftermarket.
funny right on pop culture? I think the 88 are test cars to see how they work out.
Eon Flux was something else. In Back to the Future it was simply the flux capacitor.
I think it would be interesting to see DMC revamp the Delorean by making a futuristic "remake" (similar to Hyundai's N Vision 74 Hydrogen Prototype)
This isn't a comeback at all by the way. It's a completely different brand just using the name "DeLorean" to gain attention. They have no connections or ties to DMC at all
What you're looking for is actually DeLorean Legacy Project. That's John DeLorean's daughter who is working on a new DeLorean that actually resembles the original DMC-12
Way cool! I think John DeLorean would be delighted with this new namesake car!
These people failed at the design, so Hyundai did it for them lol
Supercool design, love the rims! LOL@hugs & kisses! Maybe they should have called it Alpha XOXO?😘

Waw.. 88 model production.. thats shold be tributed to BackToTheFuture.. im really touched... 🎉
I'm from Stamford CT, in the 1974,79 I remember seeing a delorean dealership, it was on the side of East main plaza , on the East side Carter was president Jimmy
Wow, I LOVE this car! One question though - being as I have no one to hug or blow air on the back of my neck…. can I swap out that feature and have a flux capacitor fitted instead?😄
I'm not big on movie remakes but a Back To The Future remake with this new model would be kinda cool
jeez some of the options these cars come with remind me of pimp my ride, to ambitious and things that most likely wont get used except as a novelty act. make reliable/safe/comfortable cars and chill with the bells and whistles/future head aches
Can't wait for Supercar Blondie to test ride the DeLorean Aerospace DR-7 VTOL Aircraft. 🌟
I'm glad the brand is back!
Soon as I finish this Big Mac I'm signing up for that Delorean club thingy. 👍🏿
ITS TRUELLY BEAUTIFUL. ❤
This car must have a big garage because of its wings doors.
The only thing its missing is the flux capacitor and time dial
I'm glad they still have Gullwing Doors! Too bad it's not stainless steel body work.
Supercar Blondie Absolutely Incredible Video I think the DeLorean Alpha 5 is absolutely incredible
I' expect to see this in the much vaunted Back To The Future sequel , and a commercial with Doc Brown bringing one back to 1985 to show it to Marty , including the immortal line "this sucker's electrical' and 'when she hits 88mph you're gonna see some serious stuff' !
They should’ve gone with the classic DMC on the front grill. It would’ve been cool.
Wow, this is beautiful, slick, different, awesome 💯
For charging, I'd prefer Tesla's NACS over CCS/J1772. The car looks great and I like that it seats 4 with only 2 doors to open. Don't really care about the haptic features with the wristband, that's something I'd probably use once or to demonstrate but never use it for every day driving.
The best thing here is the way Blondie says Delorean
John Delorean and his amazing mind lives on.
It’s just so darn cute, adorable, beautiful
That has got to be the most stunning 4 seat coupe ever. It's actually got legroom in the rear! Yet it looks like a 2 seater or 2+2 from the side. But put all those gimmicky bits in a upgrade package so I can just get the car a little cheaper as I have no use for them.
I love her design.
Very cool and dated at the same time. A glorious concept that's come to life.
Its just like the ride vehicle for Back To The Future at Universal Studio Holly Wood, be nice if it seat up to 8 people, 4 in front and 4 in the back, and a convertible.
Oh my word I'm loving the door opening
this is just beautiful
If the delorean alpha 5 is really coming in 2024, then I'm so looking forward to it.
Bring back the old school DMC look and feel.
I'm from Northern Ireland and we lived next door to the real delorean factory .. plus my mam worked there ..
Despite its very simple design, the car looks fantastic
