Haha, I remember one of the earliest iterations of the Champinship Manager video game series (maybe the very first one?) still had the Anglo-Italian cup, lthough it was the 90's... :)
Great to see Anglo Italian Cup getting a mention. A tournament set up, pretty much because Swindon were barred from playing in Inter Fairs Cup due to being 3rd division team (though they got promoted the same year as beating Arsenal) And then they only went on to beat Juventus and Napoli in winning the whole thing! Amazing times!
Glad to see the watney cup. My grandad and great grandad went to the Derby v United game to watch United. Still have the programme along with hundreds other United programmes. It's one of the most valuable programmes we have alongside United v maradonas Barcelona from 1984 European cup winners cup. Where we beat Barcelona 3-0 my dad was behind the goal in the Stretford end
I'd already known of the Mitropa Cup for several years before watching this video you know. I'd known that the Mitropa Cup was the forerunner to the European Cup. I found out about the tournament during a history of football documentary I'd watched on TH-cam several years ago.
Sadly on the very day this video came out. 4 times Mitropa Cup winner Pál Berendy had passed away. As a member of Vasas (6 times winner) he was probably the most successfull induvidial inthe history of Mitropa Cup.

At least the Cup Winners' Cup lived up to its name. Unlike the Champions League which is farcical because half the participants aren't even champions of anything.
How about "oldest and youngest professional players in each position"? You could restrict yourself to top five leagues, or Europe, or just England if the pool is too diverse.

Could have give the Debenhams Cup a shout... Played twice, in 1977 and 1978 for the two teams outside the Top 2 Divisions who progressed furthest in the FA Cup... Chester beat Port Vale 4-3 over 2 Legs in 1977 and Blyth Spartans beat Wrexham 3-2 over 2 legs in 1978
What about the Guinness Soccer Sixes, which could be seen as the predecessor to Masters Football? This had its peak years during the period when English clubs were banned from Europe, and therefore had the big clubs first teamers play in that tournament. And it was on the BBC as well.
I didn’t know until the other day but the FIFA have now stopped the Confederations Cup and the Club World Cup which is sad as both tournaments massively got me into football
