Us in Ohio pronounce it like this: coh- sigh :) just like how it's written! I went to cosi alot when I was a kid as I'm just an hour away from Columbus. It's one of my favorite places to visit!!!
We had a COSI up here in Toledo but it got changed to Imagination Station. It still has my favorite part (optical illusions/Mind Zone) but it just doesn’t feel the same in a way. At least I got to experience the Promedica bodies exhibit before it finished, which was really interesting due to me being in the mortuary field.
My middle brother was born in the city! Home 2 DSW (Designer Shoe Warehouse) & Nationwide. The Short North has a dining joint that never closes once under establishment. Go check it out, bych!
I grew up in Columbus. All of my memories are from the old COSI on the other side of downtown. It was right across the street from the very first Wendy’s. We would go there on a field trip every year during elementary school.
Jacob, love your videos. Thought I'd add a little history to your visit. The current location of COSI used to be Central High School. In 1984 the movie "Teachers" was filmed there. It starred Nick Nolte, JoBeth Williams, Ralph Macchio and Judd Hirsch. The high school closed in 1982 and opened as COSI in 1999. If you're ever in Marion, Ohio we have three unique museums. The newest Presidential Museum in the country the Warren G Harding presidential library, museum and home, Heritage Hall (Marion County history) featuring the Wyandot Popcorn Museum and the Huber Machinery Museum. We also have the largest monument to a president outside of washing DC. The Harding memorial and presidential tomb.
I went to this museum as a kid for a friend's birthday, his mom was a teacher. Its great to see all the updates. Your commentary is so funny and relaxing.
Destination suggestion: In Astoria, NY, there is the Museum of the Moving Image. It’s got tons of exhibits on various aspects of the filmmaking process and the history of film and television. However, I would check ahead to see if visitors are allowed to take videos for vlogs.
I grew up in Columbus and used to go to COSI all the time when I was a kid in the '60s and '70s. It was in a different location then, and much smaller than it is now. The current location is a former high school. It looks like they're using the same transparent bodies now that they had back then, and I always hated them because they were so creepy. The old pendulum is still there. There was also the old-timey town, but instead of shops for the mid-20th century, they were shops from the late 1800s and early 1900s. Among other things, there was a candle shop and a paper shop, where they had people inside showing you how they made candles and paper.
Aww Jacob! You were 15 minutes from my house!! I've lived in Columbus all my life!! I live in German Village. Glad you enjoyed COSI. Took our son there many times as he grew up. Safe travels. Look forward to the next adventure!
Glad you made it to Cosi! I haven't been there since the pandemic started but hoping to go soon, I usually like to go for the Cosi after Dark events they have once a month for adults. I'm interested in the Marvel exhibit and the Cuba exhibit looks cool too. I also recommend the Cincinnati Museum Center for other Ohio museums. They still were mid-renovation the last time I went, but the exhibits are very cool and the design of the building inspired the Hall of Justice. And the Newport Aquarium on the other side of the river is awesome as well.
I remember going to Cosi probably in 5th or 6th grade. They had phones where you could see the person you're talking to and I thought oh that will never happen The invisible Man and the invisible woman actually talked they had their own little room. The boys were only allowed to see the invisible Man and the girls only the invisible girl we wouldn't want fifth or sixth graders to find out about those organs! It's nice to see there's still some things from the original Cosi still there. The building that it's in was Central high School which was one of the main high schools in Columbus Ohio my mother graduated from there. It was nice that they kept some of the original building when they moved Cosi there.
Two suggestions, first is the Armstrong Air & Space Museum in Wapakoneta, Ohio (the hometown of Neil Armstrong). The second one is the Mackinaw Bridge museum in Mackinaw City, MI. It is located above the Mama Mia's Pizza restaurant. It's not the biggest museum, but it is free.
I’ve wanted to go to COSI for so long, it feels like a mix between a science museum and a children’s museum, and I love that kind of stuff. If I’m ever in the state I’m definitely doing it.
I visited COSI with my parents in 1990. I remember the coal mine elevator, an exhibit on cracker jack prizes, and a lazar light show set to the music of Led Zeppelin.
Hey Jacob!!! Dang I live in Columbus Ohio, would have loved to have seen you, ever thought about doing a meet and greet! Should think about it. Definitely need too! Covid appropriate of course! Cosi is a amazing place, glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for making videos, and being you!
My family went to COSI back YEARS ago and it was awesome! Glad that they have the Marvel: Universe of Superheroes there (went to see that exhibit at Museum of Pop Culture in Seattle back 2 years ago. Can’t wait for MoonKnight, Morbius, and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness to come out! 🌙
Liberty Science Center is great in Jersey City, NJ. Franklin Institute is a top science museum with now Harry Potter exhibition in Philadelphia. DaVinci Science Center is cool in Allentown, PA. Also great America on Wheels Museum in Allentown. Also the National Museum of Industrial History in Bethlehem, PA. Also got the Moravian museums in Bethlehem and nearby Dorney Park and Wildwater Kingdom.
First, there was a lot of fouling in that basketball game, but lots of dunks, so that was cool. I was there only a few years ago, it looks like 90% different. Cleveland has a few museums you should check out.
I used to take field trips to COSI when I was younger it’s been a while since I’ve been but it’s an awesome amazing place for a science nerd like me. Keep up the great work Jacob!!!!
Hi! COSI is pronounced Co-S(eye) in am from Cincinnati and that’s what we call it! Hope you enjoyed your trip, love to cross paths with you one day and I’m a huge fan! 💖
i’m from dayton, ohio and haven’t been to cosi in years so thanks for much for stopping by it :) i’ll have to go back soon! it’s also so cool you’re in ohio!!
If you are ever near or in Livingston county you should try out the Jello Museum and the WarPlane museum right near SUNY Geneseo, that place has a plane used during D-day that still sometimes gets flown
There is a great little History museum on the Town square in Springfield Missouri on the northeast corner of the square. It is called the History Museum On The Square. I think you would really enjoy it it does all about the history of the town and the county dating back into the 1800s. There's also an art museum in Springfield at national and Bennett Street that is completely free.
I loved COSI when we would go there back when I was in school!! One of my favorite things was always the rat basketball, and I'm so glad they still have it! ❤❤ (The last time I went was around 1996 or 1997...) I remember that we also once ate at the very first Wendy's, which used to be located right down the road from COSI....
Cool to see you visit COSI. I have been there many, many times from childhood to adulthood. Though when I was a kid it was located further down Broad St. It was at its previous location for 35 years and moved to its current location in 1999. Another science museum that I really like is the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago.
I love science museums like this! There is one in Cartersville, GA called the Tellus Museum that Cosi reminds me of. One of my favorite museums! Would love to go to Cosi one day too!
Fun fact, there use to be an animatronic show at COSI years ago. Sadly it was closed after a few years. The only place where you could find one of those animatronic characters is at Jungle Jim's.
Welcome to Ohio. Newark , Ohio place called The Works. They have some of the old Cosi exhibits. Mansfield has the Carousel museum. A must see. Velvet ice cream is awsome as well
Oh wow, I went on an overnight field trip for Gifted there when I was...eight, maybe? Loooong time ago, lol. We went to the Columbus Zoo on the first day, slept in the gym of a YMCA (they left the gym lights on so I snuck out to the lobby to play Q*Bert for a couple of hours and then took a nap in the elevator) and spent the second day at CoSi. Super fun!
there’s two really cool museums in Milford Pennsylvania, one is the Columns Museum which is supposedly haunted and also houses part of the flag that was behind Abraham Lincoln when he was assassinated. the other place is Gifford Pinchot’s residence- he worked with Teddy Roosevelt to develop the National Forests, both places are very deep rooted in history and the town itself has a lot of other hidden gems as well
check out the Catapillar Visitors Center , It is a Catapillar history Museum ,right next to the Riverfront Museum that you visited to see dinosaurs early this year
As far as smaller museums go, if you're ever in the Branson MO area again check out the Dewey Short Visitors Center! It's a great little FREE museum about the lake. I wasn't too happy about my own video of that place (on my other channel, not the account I'm commenting with) so looked up others after I was done...I was surprised to see that there weren't too many, & I actually liked my crappy video better than the others I saw. I'm still new at this, & frankly I'd like to see some people that know what they're doing video-wise vlog that place!
Jacob you asked for museum ideas. If the weather nice here’s one. Pyramid Hill in Hamilton Ohio. It’s north of Cincinnati in the same region as King Island. It mainly outdoors but they also have and indoor museum. Take care and thanks for doing what you do
Woolaroc in Bartlesville Oklahoma! Native American and Phillips 66 museum. It’s out where Frank Phillips had his ranch and lodge. The lodge is still there too. It’s a very neat place! And it just screams carpetbagger. And if there’s not enough content there, you could also show the Price tower in downtown Bartlesville. Frank Lloyd Wright’s only skyscraper!
The holocaust museum in Richmond VA was pretty interesting. Only check out if you're in town for something else though. I went 10years ago so I can't vouch for its current state. They had a lot of mannequins and even a full sized courtroom replica of the Nuremberg trials. You could walk right through the courtroom. Pretty neat.
Go to the imagination station in Ohio I went there in my kindergarten first grade field trip it was originally called COSI but they changed it it has lots of interactive places inside I don’t know what it’s like now since I haven’t been in a few years
If you haven't headed south yet check out Mansfield Ohio. They have the Little Buckeye Children's Museum, a really cool restored carousel (just across the street) and the Ohio State Reformatory where the Shawshank Redemption was filmed.
Jacob I found your channel thru Boogie's channel recently. We are enjoying your travels. Have you been to the Franklin Institute in Philadelphia? That place was so much fun when I was a kid. Walking thru the human heart was an experience

I, for one, appreciate your information. Thank you.
I went to this museum as a kid for a friend's birthday, his mom was a teacher. Its great to see all the updates. Your commentary is so funny and relaxing.
Spent 13 years working there. Thanks for spotlighting my old home away from home!
Union Terminal in Cincinnati is a grand old train station turned in to a museum center. It was the model for the Hall of Justice.
I see how you casually dropped the words “my girlfriend’s favorite Marvel movies” into this video 😲!
Jacob my family loves your channel Dude! We bond as a fam by watching you. Thank you Jacob!!!
Destination suggestion: In Astoria, NY, there is the Museum of the Moving Image. It’s got tons of exhibits on various aspects of the filmmaking process and the history of film and television. However, I would check ahead to see if visitors are allowed to take videos for vlogs.
I went there and loved .Thank you for taking us along. It is great place to visit
Hey Jacob you should visit the Ohio state reformatory in Mansfield Ohio. It’s a great historical place with a museum and has been seen in many movies

Another Ohio museum I recommend is the Cincinnati Museum Center at Union Terminal. You have 3 museums and an Omnimax theater.
This was a WONDERFUL museum!! Thankyou Jacob🤗🤗

I visited cosi in the early 80s, totally different from then to now. Thanks for sharing your this video nice to see cosi again 😀
Fun fact: The building that houses COSI was once a high school. The 1984 movie Teachers was filmed there.

Not much defense during that game. The players seemed more interested in eating than defending.
I was there last week for the Marvel exhibit! It was my first time going since like 2 or 3 years.
I used to take field trips to COSI when I was younger it’s been a while since I’ve been but it’s an awesome amazing place for a science nerd like me. Keep up the great work Jacob!!!!

Great video. If you ever go up the Vermont. In Burlington they remade the echo center. And there's a huge new skate park at the waterfront
