GUIDING LIGHT 1986: Kyle leaves NYC and surprises Reva & Roxie

- Footage starts with Kyle doing business in NYC with an attractive woman, who was hoping for more than a business deal. Kyle decides to abandon his Theater tickets he was hoping to use with Reva (if she came) and head back to Springfield. Reva and Roxie are back at Revabend celebrating the shopping for College School Clothes for Roxie. Discussion moves quickly to Kyle and the complications of their relationship. Reva reminisces about their time at the Yoder barn. They grab take-out Chinese food (where Kyle had a special fortune cookie message place in their order) and Kyle walks through the door to surprise them. I'm not sure if there is more footage of this, if someone has this - please post!
Aired September 26th, 1986. I also wonder if there's more footage - I've seen a dubbed partial version of this episode and it does seem to end with Kyle walking in asking if there's enough food for one more (and the next episode didn't pick up here or even include Reva). There is a channel starting to post all sorts of full GL episodes from the 80s - I'm hopeful some of these last missing pieces will be filled in eventually.
I kind of remember that the scene ended there, which was odd (probably a last minute cut from the show). I hope people are digging into their old tapes and posting. I was a very athletic kid that had practices after school, so I'm surprised at how much I did capture. I still think I'm missing a couple of tapes of 85/86 - I know of one I found that has Reva's slap on India (will post much later). My cousin had quite the collection of Kyle and Reva stuff back in the day and I pray that she may still have some that I can convert and post. She's moved, so it could have not made the moving truck. I wish I had posted this years ago, when Larkin was still alive. I know he was active on Facebook and even posting comments under some TH-cam videos of his work on GL. Would have loved for him to revisit all these scenes with running commentary from him. I was lucky to meet Larkin at a St. Jude's Benefit back in early 2000. If anyone is reading our comments, has tapes for this storyline - yet not a clue on conversion - they need to contact one of us to do it for them! LOL It's exhausting, but this storyline is worth it, I love them so much. I just want to honor the work of these actors back then, especially Larkin. I have seen Larkin on other soaps and I still think his best work was on GL. (Edge of Night fans may strongly disagree - lol). I have a HUGE Box of tapes with Josh/Annie, Richard/Reva years and Jonathan years - I think I may have a lot of Danny/Michelle too (early 2000s?). One day I may tackle that - although it looks like the catalogues of GL on TH-cam during those years are bigger then these mid-80s. You would probably know what the gaps are (as your channel is fantastic w/playlists) - so let me know and I'll see what I can plug in.
@@sampsongirl I don't think I realized just how much Reva & Kyle storyline there was for those 2 years :) SO fun to see what I missed then all these years later!
Slowly working on integrating all your videos into my yearly playlists! Two Christmases ago when I started rewatching GL while sick over the holiday. I bounced all over TH-cam watching the Reva GL years & it didn’t take long to realize there were often chunks of a storyline and then huge gaps in other years. So being the geek I am, I started a spreadsheet tracking November 1983 through September 2009 by episode so I could keep track of Reva storylines with airdates.
A few months in, I couldn’t keep track which channel posted what video(s) - every channel has a different naming convention AND things were already starting to disappear that I knew I’d seen before :/ So I started the playlists as a way to tell the stories in as much order as possible. I didn’t realize for a while that other people were actually watching them too - ha! So now I try to keep them updated better - I wish there was a way to comment on someone’s playlist because I’d love to have feedback too :) You may want to make your own playlists with your content - it'll help bring other people into your channel as TH-cam shows playlists in search results.
I will see where there are gaps that you might have - I generally only track Reva related stories and not all characters. One series that fans ask about is Marah’s birth - but I think you might have not been watching GL then since it was only 6-7 months after Kyle left.
