Really like the way you talk through what you are doing and your thinking. Ok, It makes for a long video but very good for a beginner! Thanks for making these (and see you in the next cycle)
Great narrative, was really interesting to hear your thoughts. One clarification, you've misunderstood preferred focus (see page 32 of rules). You can’t keep using your preferred focus cards, rather it applies to temptation focus and also some technology. Also you can have a maximum of 2 fleet stands in your sectors (so 6 corvettes for example), which is why the icon on the galactic board end of phase B shows two fleet triangles.
You can also reinforce, moving the bottom track to gain two resources. Those can be used to pay off the crisis when you build the sector defense. Just another example of what you can do in this game. Great explanation of every focus card. It will surely help the new players who are being introduced to the game.
You misunderstood. I did not convert credits when I produced. The previous action cost 2 energy, and I changed my mind and used coins instead of energy to pay for that action. Sorry I was being confusing...I was ret-conning there.
1:07:00 I think you forgot to produce 1 food (you had no energy production anyway). When you uplift with one fleet power you could have taken two fleet power and saved 3 materials - combat would have gone 2vs2 so tied, you spend 3 materials for an absorb, so no loss, next salvo you have initiative (2 vs 1) so fire first, voidborn die. If you had put a glory token from the event into the sector you invaded then you would have 3 glory for the event bonus.

1:22:00 You can't convert credits to resources when you produce. You can only spend credits when resources are required.

@@jtfike Ah, right! Thanks for this series, by the way. It highlights what we will all go through if we play this game.

how big is your table? Ordered my copy, have a 3x3 table currently 😬
8x4
I'm playing on a 3x3 table. You have to get a bit creative, but you can make it work. :) At least for solo games.
31:00 - Audio goes wonky
31:33 - The audio resolves.
Don't you get the generic bonus at the bottom of the event card?
Yes. Am I not taking a bonus somewhere?
3 hours to set up???
Sorting components and first time learning…yup
