The Scandinavian Defense can be considered an improved version of the Caro-Kann. White has a lot of ways to avoid the Caro-Kann but cannot avoid the Scandinavian Defense. Why so? Find out in this video! :)

Well its not that easy to say, I prefer Scandinavian, but I dont think that it is better than Caro Kann, its easier to learn becouse you basicly have two lines, 3.Nc3, and 3.Nf3 preparing c4 for later, but there is a reason why people play the Sicilian or e4-e5..

its easier to attack and do forcing moves from the Scandinavian, and you dont need to know as much theory as it is much more flexible imo. The Caro Kann by contrast requires a lot more patience, its passive and if you dont know opening theory well, you can get checkmated ridiculously fast. The scandinavian can be played in any time format easily, the Caro is not easily played in blitz or bullet unless you really put in a lot of study time.
