Dar es salaam used to be called Mzizima, one of the Zanzibari Sultans named it Dar es salaam when he was building this new city
Dar es salaam 🔥
That is called Vitumbua med with rice flour
Thank you for letting me know 💙👍🏾
Dar es salaam is an Arabic word which means House of Peace
The Native Zaramo people called the town Mzizima, means the place of peace and harmonies. when they had an agreement with Sultanate of Oman and Zanzibar 1885, he built a university and a port at Mzizima, the Sultan translated the town name in Arabic, Dar es Salaam. so after built the port was named Dar es salaam and the town was still at the original name called Mzizima town and Mzizima fish village which is now where the states house and ferry fish market is.when the Germans came and took over and changed from Mzizima to German East Africa Dar es salaam late 1890s, in 1920 when they lost the war british came and brought indians as a cheap labour in 1930s, british changed it to Dar es salaam port, mzizima district. 1961 changed from mzizima district to dar es salaam region as a capital and in 1972 years after independence then become dar es salaam commercial city and moved dodoma. not everything Arabs and White or Asians brought to Africa some they learned from us or translate it to their languages. learn the true history the native
No, Tanzania is a majority Christian, Dar es salaam city has a large mixture of both however Zanzibar is majority a Muslim island it has 98% muslims.
Legendary 😂💯
Most of people in Tanzania and Dar es salaam are Christian but with huge Arabic influence from middle east and india
Thanks let me know 💙
Who says most PEOPLE of Daressalaam are Christians? I think you need to ask yourself the name Daressalaam is A.Muslim word and Muslims dominated EAST AFRICAN COAST THOUSAND OF YEARS Before Christianity came in just 120 yrs Ago.
THE BIG RIAL

Bro, stop lying and tell the truth.
I need, here in Tanzania there are more Muslims than Christians, all the coastal regions such as Tanga, Pwani, Lindi Mtwara and so on, Muslims are again more than ninety percent compared to Christians.
And even Dar es Salaam which is also located in the coastal region there are many Muslims on the coast.
In the middle of the country of Tanzania, there are still many Muslims in places like Kondoa, and in other mainland regions, especially in cities like Singida, Tabora, Shinyanga, Mwanza, Kigoma especially in the Kigoma Town up to Ujiji area there are still too many Muslims.
In many regions of Tanzania, Muslims are mostly found in the cities or towns where the majority of people are living and some Christians are found in the villages.
Again, if you examine the tribes with the most people here in Tanzania, such as the Sukuma tribe, a large percentage of its people are like pagans because they do not follow Christianity or Islam.
There are few regions with many Christians in Tanzania, most Christians are in the northern mainland of Tanzania, especially in Kilimanjaro, Manyara and Arusha, in these regions they are mainly in rural areas, but in Moshi City and in Arusha City, Muslims and Christians are about half.
Christians are also found in large numbers in the southern highlands, especially in the region of Mbeya and other areas, but there are still many areas in other regions where Muslims are found in large numbers.
Historically, Christianity began to enter in the years 1850's AD when it was brought by white colonists, but Islam entered Tanzania in 700's AD in coastal cities and spread to the mainland.
Even the Swahili language we speak spread to all parts of Tanzania due to the teachings of Islam because Swahili is the main language used for centuries to teach the teachings of Islam, in these teachings Swahili took many Arabic words from the Qur'an and many books of the Islamic religion that was used to teach Islam.
Even the name of Dar es Salaam which means (home of peace) comes from the Qur'an (6:127) Surat Al-an'am which says in arabic ۞ لَهُمْ دَارُ ٱلسَّلَـٰمِ عِندَ رَبِّهِمْ ۖ وَهُوَ وَلِيُّهُم بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَعْمَلُونَ ١٢٧ this verse is translated as: "They will have the Home of Peace with their Lord, Who will be their Guardian because of what they used to do".
Also in other words in Islam, Dar es Salaam (or Daruselam) is the place where all of the people of paradise will be gathered and will eat and drink and then they will be told to look above them, and when they see they will see Allah/God Almighty's face and they will be delighted.
However, and the one who founded the city of Dar es Salaam was a Muslim Leader and his name was Sultan Sayyid Majid from Zanzibar, he was the ruler of Zanzibar and the large parts of East African territories.
@@rayisadesigns2646 100% lies. U hv spent hrs to write pure nonsense. Where did u get that data 90% of tanzanians are Muslims? Out 26 regions only 6 have large number of Muslims, Lindi, mtwara, pwani, tanga, Tabora and kigoma. In Dsm although it's a coastal region most of the natives have relocated to Pwani region hence 6 million people in Dsm are from all parts of the country. According to data available in Tz , about 60% are christians, 30-35 Muslims then 5-10% other religions.
@@rayisadesigns2646 That is not true regarding the percentage you gave. I agree with you that more Muslims in the coastal area.
Christianity (61.4%)
Islam (35.2%)
No religion (1.8%)
Traditional faiths (1.4%)
Others (0.2%)
