We had some orchards of avocados near our home in my senior year of high school and early college days in the hills around our house. On Christmas or Thanksgiving I would come home and go for a walk with our tricolored hair Collie dog named Ranger in amongst the trees. I'd throw the fallen soft ones and he would fetch and bring them back. Or I would just pick them up and chuck some at the trunks to watch it go splat! I remember growing up and mom would put the pit in the top of a jar of water with three toothpicks in it so we could watch it sprout on the kitchen sink window in the morning sunlight? It was good fun doing all those little things with our parents as kids. :)

They don't taste as good as the sharwil and hass avocadoes. BUT they are HUGE.
