    Just wanted to mention I actually filled out the card, was sceptical as well. I took a picture of my placeholder card before dropping it off. Happy to say about 30 minutes after dropping it off I received a text message from my credit card company stating that Disney Cruise Lines charged me $250. It was great, just wanted to let you know it worked:) My next cruise is this fall on the Fantasy for 7 days, super excited got the 10% off + OBC for $200. P. S. Love you guys, you are the best!

    Can you use a Disney Gift Card to pay for the placeholder reservation? So basically a "placeholder" is just like booking a "bounce-back" at the Disney resorts. It's a deal you can book only while you are still at your Disney resort...and you may or may not have to call from your resort phone to book it. We did this Oct 2018...we booked a "bounce-back" for Dec 2019. The deal wasn't a % off the room, in our case it was a "free dining" offer :)

    Oh good info about the card! I’ll be sure to do it in person. I’d want that piece of mind also. Is the $250 the only deposit? Or do I also need to pay a percentage down when booking the actual cruise?

      When you finally book and confirm your reservation you will need to pay the rest of the deposit for whatever the cost of your cruise is.

    Can you pay for the place holder with a Disney gift card?

  • @grateful7785
    @grateful7785 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hi guys, so let me ask you...in order to book 2 cabin placeholders, does that mean 2 deposit amounts? Or can 1 deposit be placed for 2 rooms if there are at least 2 people in your current party? And if you do have 2 placeholders for 2 cabins, can you then give the second cabin to friends/family that may want to join you for the next trip? I hope my questions aren't confusing 🤪. Thanks in advance.

    • @LeggLife
      @LeggLife  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ok, I think I understand. Each placeholder has to have it's own deposit. So, if you get 2 placeholders, you will have to pay the $250 deposit for each of them. Each adult can only get 1 placeholder in their name. So, on one cruise Sherri and I each got a placeholder, so we had to pay 2 deposits. Also, the placeholders can't be given away to someone else, the person who's name the placeholder is in has to be registered to that stateroom.

    Hi here is a question you may or may not know the answer to... I am looking at an ALASKA (ha ha!) cruise for summer 2020. The prices and reservations for silver members are out this wednesday. (march 6) I hear repeatedly that is the CHEAPEST day to book (day one)..but we cruise on the Magic on March 31... so will it be cheaper to book with 10% off on board on April 1 or 2.... which will be 4 weeks after the cruises are released, or is the day ONE discount more than 10%?????

    • @LeggLife
      @LeggLife  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good question! Well, there really isn't a guaranteed way to know that. My thought is that the price wouldn't increase more than 10% in that timeframe, however it certainly could. Sorry! I don't have a definitive answer because I don't think there is any way to know for sure what the prices will do.

    Take a photo of the card before you drop it in the box. We never leave the ship until we've seen the confirmation by email. And we have been able to buy placeholders in each of our names every time.

    • @LeggLife
      @LeggLife  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      On the placeholders you've been able to buy, did they have to be used together on the same cruise? For example, you each get a placeholder in your name, but they have to be used together on the same sailing? Or, have you been able to get two reservations, and use them on two different cruises? We've been able to book two separate reservations in the past, and then use them on two different sailings (since we always only need one stateroom.) But, this time she said we could make two reservations, but they had to be for the same itinerary.

    • @PistolPeat
      @PistolPeat 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      LeggLife - we had to use them on the same sailing, and an owner of the placeholder had to be booked every room. That meant we were booked in separate rooms, brought some friends, and rearranged the room assignments at the port. We had to go to a supervisor in a separate line after we checked in to handle that. A little inconvenient, but we saved 10% plus on board credit. We were also told they had to be on the same sailing, but that was our plan all along.

    I'm sure the answer is no, but I have to ask. Can you apply a placeholder to an existing reservation? I booked what was supposed to be our first Disney cruise for January 2020, but an opportunity came up where we can actually sail our first Disney cruise October 2019. I'm definitely going to book a placeholder on both cruises, but am curious as to whether I could apply the October placeholder to the existing January booking.

      Mommy Marine If you know your travel agent, it is much easier to add them to the placeholder. I did the 30 days thing, and it took some forms, calls, etc. My TA gave me $200 additional on board credit, so, worth it!

    Interesting, we just booked 2 placeholders on our Panama Canal Cruise, and we were in a single cabin. We also went with the Dropbox form, so maybe that’s why? I had the confirmation emails waiting for me when I turned my phone back on at the end of the cruise, so maybe if you go with the form option, save some of your free data to check for the emails before you leave the ship?

      I was thinking about that too- when I was typing my first comment to you. I thought the placeholder room one and two would have to be used for the same sailing (but we never asked)- but we assumed it. that's why we only did one room because we would only need one room together. we wanted to get two rooms - one for a friend to use- but couldn't do that because then me and kimi would need to be each in separate rooms. if I can remember next time we cruise- I want to ask that question now.
