Love your builds and will be following you a lot. I had a 1988 Honda prelude that was lost in an accident vs uninsured motorist. Looking to get another one to get, along with Toyota Supra, Nissan skyline gtr and Mazda rx7. I’m a mechanic by trade and love to spend time in the garage on motorcycles and vehicles. Teaching my kid the tricks of the trade. Great video information.

I had a gently driven, garage kept third gen Prelude si (not 4WS, but still great) Had one elderly owner, less than 50k miles, still looked and ran like a brand new prelude, $400!! Catch was I had to replace a control arm. All I did was Paint trim all white to match the body, Integra Type R front lip and side skirts, 17" wheels (should've gone 16" but still looked great), intake and exhaust. Was going to lower it and do more performance mods but I eventually had to sell it. I REALLY miss that car. Not super powerful but super fun. They are gorgeous, solid, smooth running, well engineered machines. If I could afford ANY car in the world, I would find another mint third gen Prelude first. They are one of the best cars ever made imo... Then I would get an Audi R8 so I had something modern as well.

Mad props brother! I have owned three 3rd gen Preludes and I regret selling my last one. It was a 91 that ran great and I only paid $800 for it in Austin Tx. This video has completely inspired me to buy another one and fix it up. Thanks for this amazing video and....wow ! What a pretty lady, love the wheel choice as well. Concerning the rear spoiler....I drive a 2002 BMW 330ci convertible as my daily...I had a friend change his 91 prelude trunk lid to look like the 330 by installing the third brake light as part of the trunk lip. It looked really clean. Just an idea

The same thing happened with my 90 Prelude. Hadn't ran in a while, and some of my family took a day to do a little bit of work to it. They got it running, and my brother wasn't thinking and took it for a drive and it ran hot. It then sat at our workshop for a few more years until I decided that I would prefer to have the Prelude over buying another car for myself. Took it to a mechanic and it was there for about 4 months while they waited for parts to rebuild the head. I've been driving it for a while now. A while back I had a little scare, was going to get some new tires and my engine ran hot. Thankfully I was able to turn it off before any damage was done. There was a leak on the heater hose, which was quickly fixed. My eyes are now always glancing at the temp just incase. Should probs carry some coolant and water around with me too now that I think of it.

The Vicatorian Yeah, these Ludes are notorious for getting hot and overheating. That's why I'm rethinking my radiator fan setup.

PS-Love this stuff, I have a 5th gen, my 2nd one, first had a 97 now have a 2000. You should look into rebuilding your trans with synchrotech carbon fiber synchros, new seals bearings, accord 5th gear and an LSD. You should rebuild yourself and document it. Might make sense to get a different trans so your car isn't down for too long. If you do end up doing it yourself I will help you as much as I can. I have rebuilt 4 of them so far.

I agree with you; there's just something about having the engine that is SUPPOSED to be in the car. Great video... I like the choices you've made... ... with the exception of the spoiler ;-) The stock spoiler might look better than you think, and particularly with the mod you're planning could be really unique, with no others like it? Either way, keep up the great work - if you can ever find the centre armrest factory add-on it's a RARE piece for these cars that is also really functional. Can't wait to see how it drives soon. This prelude was lucky you found her!

Nice prelude, I have a 99 sh prelude black stock and clean. except for a flowtech warlock muffler turboflow type it gives nice sound little more over stock muffler and straight through plate which has three wing nuts. just saw your video for a friendly comment your air cleaner as a rule always from dirtbikes streetbikes vehicles in and out always try unrestrict air intake go over throttle body not inside it or with say a practical muffler 1/2 bigger then adapt down to connect with exhaust system, not fart can lol. The wing on prelude your rite they look nice without wing, I just can't do it to my car . Take care

I love 5th Gen Preludes! Keep it stock! Thank you so much for watching! I don't know why I had the intake installed in the TB in this video. Good eyes, Josh. That is a Mongoose Mini Scoot, that someday I will spend 30 minutes and get it operational and the white and green bike is a 1985 Skyway Streetbeat that I built about 12 years ago. All I had was the frame and fork. It took about six months, but I sourced all the parts to assemble a pretty bad ass bike.

I know where a 90 prelude si is needs a little work but for $600 it would make a good parts car .
